Very nice. I just got mine about a year ago and I love how it rides. I am just across the river in Cincy from you. All of these areas are so great to enjoy scenery. Enjoy your bike. Appreciate the video.
I test rode one on the weekend and got myself in debt… I haven’t done that in years! The combination of ride, engine and comfort is second to none in the ADV market. You’d hope so. BMW created the market😋
Thank you for this informative video! I have test rode the GSA twice and absolutely love it. Unfortunately my bank account can't handle it at this time. $$$☹️ My dream bike! I love those roads!
Just dropped the coin for the exact same scooter 2 days ago. Haven't even picked it up yet but I knew it was made specifically for me during the 15 minute test ride. I too noticed the center stand 3 minutes into the ride when I stood up. Thanks for the heads up on the obd block and I'd love a video pertaining to how you walk through that. I'll be ordering one of those soon. Dealer told me it was totally cool if I did my own work as long as I kept my recites with my bike diary. He never mentioned the warnings. Ha! They mentioned something about a European plug but couldn't find it. Curious if you know where that is also. Happy memorial day to all and sade travels in your journey gentleman. Im in ETown btw.
Congratulations on the new ride! I can do a video on the OBD link, it's tricky at first but not hard once you figure it out.. Nice to know that there's fellow GS riders nearby!
Somehow I fell into your BMW review. Probably because I scour TH-cam for anything 2023 GS. Yep it’s my dream bike (unicorn for certain) Tested all or most of these wonderful machines and I gotta say, they really do live up to their pedigree. I sold my Harley Bagger, to make room for this dream bike. This economy is tough, yet I’m still gonna try for this one by the end of the year. Great pro/con review, I truly appreciate your work here. 👍🏼
I recently made the exact same move. I sold my Africa Twin to my son and picked up a GS Trophy with a premium package. I’m at 1500 miles in three weeks and can’t wait to climb back on tomorrow. The bike feels like it was built just for me. No complaints at all and absolutely the best stock seat on any bike I’ve owned in over 45 years. By the way you can make the Garmin Zumo fit that BMW cradle.
I agree, I had never ridden one.. Bought it 100% on strength of the reputation and specs that that met what I wanted.. Super glad I pulled the trigger, best bike I've ever ridden.. Not quite as good as the Twin off road but light years ahead in all other measurements.. Super happy with it
Have the same bike (2023 R1250 GSA Rallye) and agree with almost all your pros/cons but, I have never banged by feet or shins on the cylinder heads. I'm acutely aware that they're there, and just avoid them. I also very quickly got over the (largely) psychological fear of its size. Once it starts rolling, the size/weight magically disappears.
Nice!!! On the road the weight doesn't bother me at all.. Really the only time I notice now is it really rocky hills... Ive got 12k miles on it now so some of cons have disappeared with familiarity... The first few thousand miles I was comparing it too much to the Africa Twin I had right before this one... It's light years ahead of the AT in a lot of ways, especially on the road
Only bike I’ve ever ridden where I knew immediately that I wanted one. Had an Africa Twin at the time, which I loved, then had a CRF250 because I thought I wanted to do some off-road. Didn’t get on with that and then a great finance deal appeared so I pressed the button. Didn’t regret it, to the extent I’ve just signed up for one of the last of the 1250 gsa’s. I’ve ridden the 1300, but it didn’t do anything for me, felt very different.
It does make sense because the seat is canted forward a bit.. It's especially noticeable after a few hours of seat time.. Ill have to look into some covers
Chad just saw this video. I'm struggling between the BMW GSA and Ducati Multistrada Rally as you know big swing in cost...I could buy a beta enduro and the BMW GSA for the cost of the Ducati. I thought you had the GS. Great great video especially the oil change info...I may need your help. I can't thank you enough. Peter :)
I have not looked through all the comments, but I would highly recommend the Zumo XT2 for navigation it is fantastic. Will beat your phone and BMW by miles.
Just flashed my ECU with Brentune, the bike is completely different, mucvh better and quicker and waaaaaaaaay more fun in all aspects of riding, with a titanium exhaust, bike is mental, can easily outrun any stock r1250 all day and possibly the new 1300 easily. Got the same bike actually
Yes, from Louisville.. Not a bad buying experience but they can't actually tell you much about the GS and they didn't have a test ride unit.. I bought this one based on research and reputation.. It's been a good bike.. About 13,500 miles on it now and my only complaint is that it isn't great off road.. On road it's fantastic but obviously much different than a road glide..
I bought it unbranded off ebay.. It's made for the GS, two replacement bolts in the rear rack.. My wife doesn't love it, it's angled just a little forward.. But there's not many alternatives out there aside from a Corbin.. Ive had Corbin seats before and wasn't super impressed for the hefty price tag
Yeah I agree, the GS is much better on long trips but I really liked the Africa Twin.. Had it for a year and put 20k miles on it.. The best bikes are the ones you just don't want to get off of..
I got the sissy bar off Ebay: www.ebay.com/usr/advancedsporttouring1 not sure the brand but "Advance Sport Touring" sells it... It's ok, wife seems happy with it. It's somewhat canted forward a touch and I kinda wish it wasn't.. But it installed easy and does the job. The bags are Nelson Riggs Touring bags.. Fairly inexpensive PVC bags so there's quick disconnect or anything like that. I'm actually pretty happy with them for the price $200 or so (Amazon). I don't like hard bags because sometimes you need just a little extra flex. Not sure that these would last 3-5years or anything but they've held up well on few long trips stuffed to the gills.
I'm 6'1.. Wind protection is very good and the adjustable windshield is pretty sweet.. It doesn't just move up and down, as it goes up it shifts perpendicular to the bike so it blocks wind well.. At my height I get just a little buffetting at the crown of the helmet (probably in part because of the visor on my MX-9) but as stock windshields go it's very good.. on the GSA with the big tank, you don't feel much wind anywhere.. I did 800 miles on the Highway last Monday very comfortably..
You're the first American I see on TH-cam giving your opinion of this motorcycle Most TH-camrs that own this motorbike are from either Europe England or Australia You're the first American they gave their opinion of this motorcycle thanks for sharing As a matter of fact I think you are the only American that gave a review of this motorcycle I may be wrong but I watch a lot of TH-cam You're the first Oh yeah that's right there is one more person Big Rock Moto you and him
Thanks for checking this out! I see quite a few of them in Kentucky. The European bikes in general are really getting popular. I guess folks are realizing that there's more to life than rumbling poor performing V-twins!
They're Nelson Riggs Pannier bags.. Pretty decent for the price, about $200.. Unfortunately at that price they aren't quick release or very fancy and the fabric areas have faded a little after a year.. But they're waterproof and spacious
The worst bike ever!!! That’s why I got the Trophy edition !🤣🤣🤣 Upgraded from a 2019 GS HP. Totally agree with most of you said. For those that want to buy it do it the same way I did with the BMW finance. It’s like a lease but it’s a conventional loan. 3 yrs road assistance AND 36000 miles!! That’s why it is the worst bike🤣🤣🤣🤣 Good stuff brother
I'm buying mine today! 2023 GSA Rallye, less than 2500 miles, so pretty new to me! Lotsa roadtrips through Europe to come with the missus ^^
Nice review, thanks for taking the time
Thank you for checking it out!

Great vid. I have a Multistrada V4 and I enjoyed watching your assessment of the BMW. Thank you.
Thanks! That Ducati is awesome, baddest bike on the market in my opinion!
That’s more people than I have ever seen walking on that road!😂. Good Vlog!
You been out on the KLR?

I'm glad I got the 1250 instead of waiting for the 1300.. We must have similar tastes.. I have a 250l and had a Twin before the 1250
I’ve got a 2020 same colour as yours. I’ve added cool covers for the seats. Also make sure your riders seat is level if that makes sense.
It does make sense because the seat is canted forward a bit.. It's especially noticeable after a few hours of seat time.. Ill have to look into some covers

Be aware that using aheadlight gaurd which blocks the light output can be avoided by using a clear lens protector.
It folds down to a clear protector as well.

New Albany here. Have a HD Roadglide thinking about going with the GS because of the weight. Did you get yours at Louisville BMW?

That backrest looks like the one I have on my Road Glide. I'm looking for a comfy set up for my wife on my 23 GSA, how did you set that up?

Greetings from Los Angeles. What is that passenger backrest brand and did you install it yourself? Great vid too, thanks!
I bought it off ebay from advanced sport touring. www.ebay.com/usr/advancedsporttouring1 I did install it myself, very easy
@@dirtobsexxionvlogs4892 Thank you!! Ride well!!

well, you can explore a way more on Africa twin :)

Where did you get the bags and rear sissy bar(do you have the models)? Are you happy with them still?

Suggestion, not criticizing, less road noise would be nice. Thanks for making the video!
Ok thanks!

I’d rather hear the bike instead of the music some folks insist on using. :-)
