For a first attempt in year 2, it's brilliant. But I would love to see Batman improve on it and get better with it
It’d be cool if in the second movie, he’s sort of made it so that the cape has a semi-rigid skeleton in it, allowing it to be more like a hang glider like we’re used to seeing
And also the symbol is just a symbol not something he takes out and the gauntlets blades replace the bat symbol knife and the cowl is connected to the cape also the suit is less armored with allows him for more flexibility and the boots are long. So the suit itself for the sequel should look like the comics to the point where he advanced in the suit design.

That first Pic that came up of concept art is way cooler looking.
Let Batman glide! From the bottom of my heart as a Batman fan, I loved the noir look of this film and many more elements that brought the character closer to their comic counterpart in the right ways...but this is not one of them. We've already received 3 very realistic Batman films and I don't understand why they think we want another. You can be grounded and fantastical at the same time, it's something the games have done pretty successfully most of the time. I'm extremely worried for the future of this series, because this quest to make everything super realistic just makes it super boring. With so much done right, please don't ruin the best film iteration of Batman by continuing past mistakes. I don't need to "feel like I'm there with Batman" like what are you talking about?
It's not about realism, it's just that the glide fail was ment to show he's still an amateur and is still afraid... that's part of his arc! It was more for that reason and not so much about "realism for the sake of realism"
There's other scenes in the movie that are not realistic and feel more comic booky but are still kinda needed for the narrative of the story. The same way some realism was needed in some scenes because those scenes fitted better with the movie's message or theme.
I think Nolan went for the "realism for the sake of realism" (over exposition about how they made the bat suit, and how things would work in real life etc.)
The batman didn't do that in my opinion. It has some issues but that wasn't one for me.
He will gracefully glide in the sequel, I hope

The glide scene was to show that he's still an amateur so it works for this specific story.
As much as I love this movie I hated it when he pulled out a wingsuit instead of his classic cape extending to become his wings. I hope they do it in the future since the wingsuit feels like it's a one time use and he has to fix it again not like his cape where he just holds it at the top and becomes his wings.

Didn’t love the movie right out of the gate on my first watch. But man, does it get more and more phenomenal with every rewatch. From the Kurt Kobain inspired look of Bruce, to the Darth Vader energy of the theme (I know it takes from Something in the Way but you can’t not hear how similar it is to the Imperial March) and lighting esp in the suit test, to the Zodiac Killer inspired interpretation of The Riddler, this on all fronts is such an inspired movie. Robert Pattinson *is* Batman.

Well, I wouldn’t say never. They could easily have him gradually develop his gear as he transitions from a vengeful, inexperienced Batman to the absolute unit we all know and love from the comics

While I love the idea of the cape forming into a wingsuit that resembles real ones that are used, I'd like to see Bruce upgrade it to the more classic/Arkham style glider

Just suspend disbelief and use the cape. Visually much more striking. Even your concept art did the job your film couldn't.

Well his suit is made of metal and in the scene he put his body in a rolling position instead of just a flip on the floor that would break bones but just rolling like he did in a suit of metal wouldn’t necessarily send you to the hospital

The wingsuit was the dumbest gadget/suit thing I’ve seen in a Batman movie. And I’ve seen batnipples and shark repellent. We already got a grounded Batman with Bale, give me a fantastical Batman that glides through the skies like in the Arkham games
I don’t mind it for an early version. It wasn’t super effective or at least he was comfortable with it. Maybe he has a more traditional one later on with access to more tech.
We have enough of early superhero versions. We need more mature, experienced superheroes!

@@2LOT exactly… even with The Batman, they’re like “it’s not an origin story”, but then it’s literally just Batman in year 2. Like wow, they basically just cut out the death of the Wayne’s and training montage that would’ve made it pretty close to an origin story 😂
The only reason they can claim it’s not an origin story is just the fact that Batman has already had interactions with the joker and a few other criminals. Other than that, they have the GCPD not trusting him, everyday citizens being afraid of him, and mistakes due to Batman being inexperienced.

That's a great scene, but I'm so surprised they used a stuntman for the landing, because I always felt like the CGI model for the landing was a bit off (at least the physics was off)

I would really appreciate something covering the creation of the motorcycles! Especially the drifter motorcycle for me at least.

Flying squirrels glide like that. They have baggy skin that acts like a parachute when they stick their arms and legs out. THE FLYING SQUIRREL MAN: catchy…
His face hits that light at like 70 mph. So much for "grounded realism". The physics just look cartoonish. It's too bad because the rest of the scene was pretty believable.
3:10 So they had a fully working solution that even looked cool and they decieded to CGI the whole suit when he puts it on and zips it up. Makes sense...

@@LuisAngel-mu4zv yeah more realistic limitations on Bruce make sense narratively for a young inexperienced Batman. As he gets older his gear becoming more fantastical and in line with the comics is a great progression, like he slowly overcomes the limits of reality and becomes something more

Whoever came up with that wing suit idea is a complete buffoon, someone who has never read a Batman comic book before. Even Zack Snyder understood the gliding silhouettes by reading 1 comic book - The Dark Knight Returns. Of course, Chris Nolan did it the best in Batman Begins.
P.S. No one demanded Warner Bros. or Matt Reeves to keep it “grounded” or “realistic”. We want it to be “dark” and “gritty”, not “grounded” and “realistic”. You’re adapting a comic book character, not a real life vigilante.

@@EmperorGuyver This whole idea of Batman being a perfect human being is what's trash. Batman isn't fearless, he faces his fears with courage. It's never about the way Batman wins, it's how he falls and never fails to stand back up again. The scene in this film where he flinches at the extreme height and yet jumps anyway is what makes him feel human and extremely relatable. This film is anything but trash, it's beautiful and it's a love note towards comic book fans.
Amazing. But i like when really hero is strong and as well as villain is also strong then there is interest in watching other wise all can make average. Hero ability like fighting skill,master mind,loving etc
