I bought the Venture and returned. I like the idea of it but would prefer a separate laptop compartment. Plus I found the water bottle pocket too small when the bag was packed out. Super comfy and well made though.
@@Morphjin47 I think so. I had a packing cube in the bottom that was fairly packed and there wasn’t enough give in the water bottle pocket for my Camelbak Chute (24oz) Imagine if the bag were empty, it would fit but push into the main space of the bag
Good review and comparison. I snagged the Able Daily Plus - it’s been a good EDC so far. Like the stealth look of it and it has plenty of stash/organization built into the bag. I may take a look at the Bellroy Venture, but I’m going to wait since I just got the Daily Plus. :) Keep up the reviews.
Hey Brotha! Been subscribed for a while and loving your content. I’m a dad, commuter and road warrior. I’ve been watching a lot of your videos trying to find a bag that is a win. I’ve really been vibing with the bags with an orange interior, space for a 16” MacBook and having a lot of compartments for my stuff and water bottle. Was curious if you’d be kind enough to make a recommendation? Once again! Thanks a lot! Much appreciated!!!!
Lots in that category with those features. Stay away from the smaller designs is you need to lug a 16" MB. But most full-size bags will work. I'd start with how big a bag you're looking for and what exactly you'll be carrying.
@@JBOutside1 16”MacBook and a 14” MacBook…. Lots of odds and ends from e technology perspective. Saving up for the ever goods 2L and 1L pouch and water bottles. Thinking something at 26L or greater. I’ve like the LTT backpack just struggle with the aesthetic. Thanks for the reach out
I don't have experience with Bellroy backpacks, but I do know they over estimate the liter capacity of their slings. I know companies measure differently, but be aware.
Another great video but please turn the music down a bit - or a lot - as it's very distracting and we just want to hear what you have to say about the bags.
@@JBOutside1 Just a review and general thoughts would be great. It looks very similar with the new venture bellroy though, only a bit less organization and weight!
Bummer. Another two bite the dust. Too long for my short torso (17"). I need the volume (at least 21L), not the length. Maddening. Great review., as always. Find me a bag! It's all about me...
Awesome!! Was waiting for this. Ordered the Nightsky colorway, and will be receiving iit n a few days. Do you think a camera cube could fit in the Bellroy? (May give it more shape to stand on its own) i.e. Peter McKinnon small camera cube (for 25L version)or Wandrd small camera cube.
@@JBOutside1 Awesome, please do. Love your insight into the very reason we are all here following your channel. Hope it grows into what it deserves to be. I'll update when I get my bag. I have the PM small cube and will try to fit it in the Bellroy pack. Cheers..
@@JBOutside1 Hey, I have the bag and its looks small, but fits quite a bit. I'm actually shocked, considering that Bellroy's said literage doesn't usually match up with my other midsize travel/EDC bagpacks (Evergoods 26 CTB Phoenix and 24L Phoenix, AER 24 L City Pack Pro). It's a bit baller than my wife's Transit Workpack 20 L, but does not look much bigger. I was able to fit their Venture 10 L camera edition sling at the bottom of the bag, a Peak Design small packing cube, Sony headphones, A CAP 1 Evergoods pouch and a travel puffer jacket in the main compartment. The flip down top pouch surprisingly fits a ton of EDC stuff. The 2 things that are making me reconsider keeping it are the lack of a luggage pass through (they could've easily added one vertically between the gel back panel), and the fact that unless you strategically place a square/rectangular packing cube or camera cube, etc.., IT WILL NOT STAND UP ON IT"S OWN.. Really want to keep it since I have matching slings 6 and 10 L (Nightsky colorway), and it's IMHO their most attractive and versatile backpack. I also have on pre-order, a Boundary Supply Errant Pro X-pac bag for smaller camera carry needs (Sony A75R and 2 lenses) ETA October. Hope this helps, Cheers!!
That's a tough one. Both have great features. In my experience the PLC20 is a better overall bag for me personally, but if you want a dedicated water bottle pocket then the Daily Plus is the way to go.
Sorry for the delay in responding. I had to get home and try this out. The answer is: sort of. It's a bit tall but you can make it work. Depends totally on how full both the outside pocket is on the Bellroy and how full the CAP1 is. I posted pictures on my Instagram to illustrate. Hope this helps!
Why not sell om-1 and on-5 and invest in new system? S5 II or Sony would be my pick. I am sure you will not miss om-1. By saying that i just got my om-1 delivered;)
Glad I found this video. Literally considering both of these bags right now.
Nice!! 👊🏻
Oh JB, forgot to point out - the hidden pocket inside the frame sheet area for stashing a AirTag or spare cash of the Able Daily Carry Plus.
PRO TIP!

Good stuff. Yeah that’s a theme with that style of pocket.
Does the water bottle pocket eat into the main compartment?

yeah jkust stay with daily plus. nothing can match xpac. its just too good.
Great review. I hope your channel is enough to be a whole career bc you do a great job. These videos are very well made.
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching...more coming soon!
Would love to see the able carry daybreaker 2 compared to the venture - they seem very similar
I'll see what I can do!
That would be a great comparison!
@@28radley except the Daybreaker in unavailable currently 🙁
Over the years I have come to prefer bags with a separate laptop compartment. I don’t like it when they are in the main compartment.
Same.
Agreed. If the Bellroy Venture and the Aer Pro Pack 24L had a baby, I'd buy it straight up
@@Feemyi think that would be the bellroy transit
Been waiting for this one man ever since you said you were working on it. Helped me decide on yet another bag.
Awesome! Thanks for being patient. Which one works best for you?
@@JBOutside1 im leaning towards picking up that venture ready pack. Also looking at the EG CHZ22
Nice video John. Can you fit a Manila envelope (paperwork) in the outer sleeve on the interior backpanel of the ADCP?
No. Too narrow. Perfect for iPad though
Can you do a video on how the Peak Design camera cubes fit into the Bellroy Venture?
I’ll see what I can do
Great review/comparison video! I got a CHZ26 just two weeks ago and was debating these two as well. Still undecided tbh 😂😂😂 damn backpacks
Haha, glad it helped!! Totally agree about these backpacks 😎
My go to's after more than a few bags are the dsptch day pack and the Jansport hatchet
Good stuff. Some solid options there.

Gotcha. This is a baffling part of all this: volume measurements 🤦🏼♂️
Great review, thinking purchasing,Bellroy, but also thinking about mystrey ranch urban 21 or 24,don't know which will be good option

Will a pair of over ear headphones fit in the top QA pocket on the Bellroy? 😃
Yes, but remember there is that divider so it depends on how they fold down.
Does a CAP1 fit inside the inside-side mesh pocket of the Bellroy? Or does it stick out and stop it from closing?
