You're videos great and informative the only information I wanted was the dimensions of the spartonolgy bag. 😅 can you share?

Another informative video, thanks! Other than the PD Mobile Tripod, I've got a bunch of very similar products from PGYTech (I'm a bit surprised that there doesn't seem to have been any lawsuit over design patents...) and I've come to pretty much the same conclusions as you on what the best options are. I ended up with the PGYTech stuff largely due to getting a really good deal on most of it. The wrist strap (PD's Cuff) is probably the handiest of the straps for the reasons you stated as it's a really nice safety net if you're out on a boat, standing over a cliff, etc. where dropping the camera (or phone) wouldn't just result in minor damage but rather total loss of the device. For the tripod, I think you have previously reviewed the MOFT Phone Stand tripod which is pretty nice. I've also been trying out the 1ST IDEA Phone Tripod Stand (available on Amazon) that's made of aluminum alloy that I'm very impressed with so far, though it remains to be seen how well the hinges will hold up to use over time. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on how the PD Mobile Tripod compares to the MOFT. I get why they all do it, but by biggest peeve with all of these solutions that use quick release plates from Peak Design, PGYTech, Ulanzi, Falcam, and so on is that they all use a proprietary quick release plate. It would be super cool (to borrow your phrase) to be able to seamlessly mix and match solutions. Personally, I like PGYTech's Beetle camera clip better than Peak Design's solution, but I like some of Peak Design's other products better than PGYTech, etc.

Older Slide Lite lives on my Leica. May have to upgrade to the Carryology version; like the pop of color. Stay away from low-hanging branches with all that garb around your neck. ;)

Great review, JB. Great comparison at the beginning! I've been really impressed with Packolab and have been wanting one of their bags, but might wait till they get a little better on taking orders. Hey, in 16:43 of the video there is a Field Pocket on the top of the pile that looks like a tan "corkboard" design. Love that color! Is that a Goruck Field Pocket? Me Likey! how do I get one?

Thank you for all your info. If I do not use packing cubes, will the Velcro on the back damage my clothes? Also, is there a Velcro attachment for a 36oz Yeti bottle to carry inside the bag (or any other water bottle size) since there are no bottle holders?

I've seen a lot of Pacolab gear in the Carryology group and the designs are incredibly impressive. I echo one of the other commenters about non-Instagram user frustrations in terms of ordering but also appreciate the small business nature of it. I've had so many backpacks over the years and personally always go back to a GORUCK GR1 - specifically a 26L. It has constantly been my tried and true, even with the non-water bottle pocket woes (Jason McCarthy, if you're watching this, please take note lol). I am at least super happy with the QAP addition. That said, the design of this pack is incredibly and ridiculously well thought out and super detail oriented. I'll most likely never be able to own let alone see one in person but man, it sure looks badass! Also love the little subtle Ukrainian flag tab on the interior. Cool touch. Enjoy!

What a bunch of BS forcing me into using Instagram if I want one of their bags! They can up their prices by $5 and afford at least a Squarespace website. And except for the stretch mesh drop in pockets, all the zippered ones look extremely tight, you could barely get your hand inside them...

Do you have any recommendations for a pack in the 24L range? Water bottle holder, some sort of internal organization, suspended laptop compartment preferred but aren't deal breakers. I currently carry a GWA micro crew and some times wish it had just a little more space. Love everything else about it. Thanks in advance.

This is the most beautiful bag I've ever seen. The one of material, the texture, the awesome patch, the "high enough vis" interior w/o burning your retinas when you open it... Just wish this was done on a CTB26 instead of a GR1. I like me a GR1, but I would never pay more than $200 for one (they do go on sale - got both a 1000D and Robic for that amount); I find $700 outrageous for such a feature poor bag, no matter how nice it looks.

I struggled for 20 minutes and had about lost hand strength before I watched your video. You totally saved me!

I’ve got the north face duffel! I can even use my MacBook + an iPad in the inside pocket at the same time which is nice. The 34l version has a water bottle holder one one outer side pocket wuch makes it for me, the absolute perfect Duffel. In the horse shoe pocket it is also possible to put in your shoes to have it separated from the rest of the bag.

Sounds like the least aggro to remove footage from the camera is old school, with wires, directly to the computer you want, be it laptop, iPad etc. maybe a future firmware will help fix the issues on the Action 4. Just ordered an Action 5, Hope it’s a bit better for wireless manipulation. My Pocket 3 is fairly straight forward for wireless moving of files, but honestly, anything large, I do with wires, or from a physical memory card. It often end up being faster in the end and ensures reliability of the transfer.

Both Goruck and Evergoods blow these out of the water in worksmanship and material quality, pretty funny to see them compared 🤣 Cotopaxi sits at a lower tier with Patagonia and the likes IMO

I don't like the "loud" branding on all these mainstream bags. If you want me to advertise for you, I should be getting something in return. And with the Allpa in particular, I don't like that it has zero structure, not even a frame sheet. If you pack it tightly, it's gonna put some very uneven pressure on your laptop. It also pulls you back quite a bit, because of the depth and no load lifters.

How does it compare to the Muir IIi

Great video! I have this and am going to start rucking. Would a 20lb plate from goruck (standard) be comfortable to ruck with? I am thinking of starting out a couple times per week and if I want to do more, will get a dedicated GoRuck option down the road. Appreciate your knowledge!

Awesome and so helpful. Following this video I immediately searched for your loadout demo of the GR1 21L… amazing content. Before viewing I was thinking I may need to holdout for a Radio Ruck to come back for my ideal bag, but it now looks like I may be able to get my travel load into the 21L. I know you love the radio ruck. For weekend travel, do you prefer the GR1 21L or the Radio Ruck which seems to fit a bit more, and which is a more comfortable carry for you?
