Thank you! I'm putting together a video from the end of this summer where things didn't go quite so smoothly - old vehicles certainly have they're downsides... Cheers!
So much fun watching man! I just started my new journey a few weeks ago with an excellent 1976 Chevy c30 motorhome but got my work cut out too. Very nice music too! Wanna know it! I think my favorite part: “So much living space!” And enjoying staying in a place for some time without running around. Go prepared
Thanks buddy! I took 'niche' to a whole other level: a review of a 1974 Chevy Vanguard for larger families with van life asperations haha... I'm terrible at marketing...
Love the vid bud but come I was born in '74 and I am not 50 yet.....nor am I that old. Great work on the editing and variety of clips. Love the story telling too, thanks for sharing a piece of your memories
I hope you guys are still enjoying this model? My wife and I just started repairing and rebuilding the overhead bunk on our 20ft 1986 model. Put it on hold until Spring of 2021 or at least warmer weather!
I know its old but man in alotta ways its nicer. That retro stove and its just sweet .ps adorable Family. You should keep it and just make repairs when needed.Way cool.
Hi thanks for sharing. I ran into this video because sadly my father passed away recently. And as it turns out he left one of these behind. I’ve been wanting to do van, or rv life at least short term. As a female I’ve been slightly hesitant, but since one of these showed up, and it’s my Dad’s (who I regret not having a more consistent relationship with) I feel like maybe this is God’s way of saying “here… do you still wanna give this a shot”? I’ve still gotta have it looked at to see what all it needs, but I know for sure it needs a fuel pump. I’m curious to see the over all condition of it. Anyway… thanks for sharing! 🙏😌
Sorry for your loss. Yeah, go get it checked out. I was lucky enough to purchase from a rather mechanically inclined gentlemen that had kept it in tiptop shape. That said, he did replace the entire back end at some point, wear and tear adds up after 45 years. But good luck with your new adventure!
Hey Mike, I just bought the same motor home. 1974 vandura vanguard. Where did you find any information on it? I’m looking for a owners manual. Any info would be appreciated
Oh man - pretty sure we had the full owners manual but we just sold it! However, I know the new owner and it's not far. I'll take some photos next time I see it.
Dope ! I loved the video and Motorhome what a idea I’ve always looked at them as a better option here in the UK the VW Transporter scene is huge and people pay huge money for them ! Could get a old single Decker bus and kit it out cheaper I’d expect... Subbing anyway like the editing and the story of you new “Old” motorhome
Thanks man! I've seen some pretty sick double-decker converts recently as well that would probably be cheaper than many of the newer van builds - the cost of having new shit I guess. Thanks for the Sub!
Hells ya! Just got back from a week long excursion! She's got some bumps and bruises, the water system needs some attention right now - but the mechanicals are tiptop!
With you having children, if you have the financial ability, you should consider moving up out of that Class C, and into a mid sized Class A. It will be a bit more stable and safe on the Road, and give you plenty more room for the kids to play.
Thanks Kevin, I appreciate the suggestiom. We actually recently upgraded to a trailer - we like to be able to drop the trailer and then use the tow vehicle to get around.
I'm sorry but I have no audio I take it you have no air conditioning in your dash wood do a lot better with I would put a roof air conditioner on there it must be very hot to be sleeping in it
Maybe, we usually get a nice evening breeze around here that seems to do the job. Certainly if we ever headed south that would be a must. Thanks for the comment!
Oh my. My hubby would love this. Great story telling!

Great work, Mike! especially envious of the drone--really adds a great element to the vlog!
Thanks man! You should watch my latest video of me crashing my drone haha!
Ok. The singer was awesome! Great job young lady.
Thanks Ken - I'll let her know!

Thanks Fay! I appreciate the comment 🤗
Hope the motorhome is still serving you guys well!!!!
Thanks Jeffery! Unfortunately we had to sell it due to mechanical issues. Good luck in jail! Hope you don't get murdered!
@@MikeErickson
Sorry to hear that. Crap happens so they say. I'm trying to lay low jail is pretty dangerous 😆!!!!!!
😂😂😂
Heheheh love Layla's song
Thanks Bonnie - that song was completely Freestyle, off the cuff - I did very little to make that drum beat work :)
Love it
Us too!
I just got a 1975 can't wait try it out
Yes! We actually sold ours a few years ago but I miss it. We had some great times in that thing.

Haha - you're the second person to say that exact thing! No John you're not 50... yet...
Thanks for watching man!

Yep, she's not fast and she's not pretty... that's about it really 🤣

Totally, it's also waterproof - a nice coat of oil from all the gasket sweats!
Hi upgrade all your suspension & tires, That's what I'm doing to my 86 chevy g 30 winnebago. Have a great one!
Awesome, it'll be a dream machine then!

Check all the brakes and suspension doesn't matter as much as the motor failing but it's got to handle and stop !
Do you still have this time capsule?
Nope, sold it - and I regret it every single day...
haha that exactly what my wife says "death trap on wheels" we have a 1985 Chevy g30 class c
Watch out for those warrior women when camping 😜
I know, and they just keep getting stronger!
you need thicker sway bars to stop the sway
Noted!

I have a 1975 GMC 19 ft van front end think it has a 400 sb 400 turbo 1 ton rearend 4.10s rearend my dad bought it over 20 yrs ago
Damn, that's cool. A mechanic friend told me the goo thing about these old vehicles is that they never rust... cause they leak so much oil 😃

@@MikeErickson that is so good to hear I own 1985 class A and I love it everything works and keep on camping. 👍😁
Where did u get the ladder?
Came with - maybe the guy before me built it? Also could be vintage - it's got that homemade feel.
What’s the fuel mileage like? Looking at RV’s and really liking the 70’s and 80’s some 90’s
Get a class c if your worried about gas mileage dont even think about b or a its like hauling a house
Vintage af for sure also cool as. f🙂🙃k. Good find.
I still have to release the one year follow up vid. Broken down on the road, at least the kitchen still worked 😆 Thanks for the comment.
Hey mike which camera do you use?
Using a GH5 with the 12-35. Love it!
Price
I paid $1750 CAD!
Y'all could get a 25yr newer motorhome but you would lose that coolness factor by at least 25 points lol
True enough!

You really have to get rid of the SCREAMING LOUD music in your intro, or add a warning about it.
Naw, I like it! That's my band Conniver!
Well honey if you think it’s a death trap then you can get out and walk home me to kids will see you sooner or later bye
Can u stop talking and show the vehicle?🤔
No
ONE DAY THE WELLERMAN COME TO FEED US SUGAR AND TEA AND RUM
how much did you end up selling for if you mind me asking? :)
Same as we paid for it $1,600. Steel of a deal! But it had issues...
@@MikeErickson gotcha, thanks for responding ❤️
