I love these kinds of builds! Yeah. The clearcoat on these Evos were notoriously thin. Same exact issue with my 2008 Civic. They really all need to be repainted. Its such a shame to see so many enthusiast cars absolutely torn apart like this. I will never understand the thiught process. It has happened for decades, and will continue unfortunately. Smh
Would love to learn/hear about your maintenance regiment - parts/fluids you use and mi intervals for (engine oil, trans, t-case, diff, timing belt, etc) - thanks Paul - you are the man(as well as an inspiration)!!
Nice! Get some Cavity wax while you're at it and spray all in those sideskirt holes, AND in the trunk at the holes where the rear lower glass weatherstrip is... you'll have to feel by hand where the holes are but start from the hinges area. And maybe inside the well where the seam sealant joins the body and wheel well tub as well. MOST lancers leak in the trunk either from where roof strips join the lower glass weatherstrip (it rots out the same holes I talked about ealier where the plastic clips hold the weatherstrip, OR the seam sealant right at the weatherstrip each side fails, OR sometimes just the trunk rubber is either compromised or loose.
This is the reason i came here years ago 👍
Best, guaranteed future content I can look forward to!!!
Nice pick up Paul, can't wait to see the "evolution" of this project 😉
Ha, nice. Should be a fun one. A bit hard to believe its like the 3rd evo i'll be documenting a build on.

Thanks. That is a good idea for a video.

Thanks. Any brand cavity wax you recommend?
@@BoostedFilms 3m cavity wax is the go to. Eastwood I think also carries a good one.
That e brake is an oem option it matches the blue seats! I have the silver version of it
Nice, i did not know that.
I remember when mine was red.
I want that evo 😞
