Yo thanks man, I really appreciate the support. What would you have wanted to learn when first flying the spitfire? Might make a spitfire or American aircraft video

@@RedDagger I think for me the thing I wish I knew how to do at first was engaging targets faster than me (specifically in the MKVb variant) had issues for a while against G-4s and fw190s until I learned proper engagement in the spit. Though this may be more of a personal thing as Il-2 is my first flight sim I’ve really played.

You forgot to mention that the A-8 has a built-in boost that increases the ATA to 1.58-1.65 and can be used for 10 minutes.

Wait so I’m trying to figure this out. Does the FW-190 A3 have 2x 7.92mm in the nose and the 4x 20mm cannon in the wings or 4x 7.92mm guns in nose/wings and just 2x 20mm cannons in the wings???

The D-9 was actually no real high altitude fighter, but yes, it did much better than the A series. But not better than Merlin Mustangs (B/C/D) and P-47Ds (especially the "cuffed propellered" ones were better).

The D9 was tuned for low altitude, other ones like the D12 and D13 were tuned for high altitude

Only US pilots weren't that good. Most of their kills were that of landing or aircrafts taking off. 1 vs 1 they really sucked.

    • @KomradeDoge

@@Leon-bc8hm I'd argue they were about even in a fair fight (both groups at altitude and ready for the fight, rather than your claim of how the Allies scored their wins). The reason you see those super aces with 200+ kills on the German side is that they refused to rotate out experienced pilots, or promote them out of the cockpit like the US did. A German pilot that fought in the Spanish civil war and stayed alive until at least the battle of Normandy probably had seen very little in the way of rest, likely participating in everything from the battle of Stalingrad to the battle of Britain being rotated around constantly where they thought his experience would do good. Compare that to the US experience of supporting the Normandy landings, then being rotated out after a certain number of missions and "missing" key events while fresh pilots handled those until you were sent back in to relive them.
The German pilots may have been extremely battle hardened, but that has its own drawbacks, in that they're constantly stressed out and on the verge of mental breakdown from just the sheer number of times they've gone up against seemingly insurmountable odds. Meanwhile the US pilots have less combat experience, but they're well rested and focused whenever they do take off.

Why do you talk like this.? Vocal Fry.
    Edit:
If I watch at 2x speed it is slightly less annoying. TBH its a good informative vid in all other respects.
