God wants to save us all. I am learning or trying to learn 4 languages right now, at least enough to understand hebrew the most. God does not take honor or glory from their deaths, but from their country, because Israel is free, Joseph and Jacob's descendants are free, Israel is free finally.
Taking honor? The Pharaoh of Egypt was basically a sociopath, a slaver who believed he had the capacity to outsmart others. Slavery is based on weaving an illusion to back others into a corner, holding someone to you and then pushing the other away. It is one of the Seven Deadly Sins, the Sin of Lust, and one of the five power games related to revenge. People who play this game do so because they believe the revenge will get them a combination of a voice and abundance. So, having a whole tribe his slaves to build him a monument to honor him was a power trip. When Moses went to the palace and the priests used their magic, they wove an illusion that their god was stronger than the God of Moses. Moses had to prove he was equal to the test. It took the 10 plagues to convince the Pharaoh to let them go, and then the parting of the Red Sea. So, taking honor from a slaver makes sense because the principles that God stands on are equality, liberty, freedom, compassion, abundance, capacity and tolerance, and making fun or rejoicing over that fact would only harden the Pharoah's resolve.
