you mean it is needed to bleed the system of air? Then no, in the end of the video i did drive the car around, that the car reaches the working temperature, you need to do this, because when the thermostat will open and let all the cooling water to cycle around; and when the thermostat open you for sure will need to add some more cooling water
you had a EML on? Cuz for me i dont get heat nor cold from the AC so i think my regulator valve might be broken but i have no idea. Forums are really clouded on my issue. (Doesnt matter if i turn it hot or cold , i get ambient temps thru the air vents)
true that, i didn't record when did i fill up the coolant in the expansion tank, i have use a concentrate it was for -60 celsius, so i did mix ist 1:1, if you use premix coolant then you are all set
I changed my matrix and i have trapped air inside, with lots of swishing noises. I have tried to bleed air from this system but finding it difficult. Any advice ? Thank you
Have you tried letting the car get up to temperature and then put the heaters on full heat and full speed with the expansion cap off? If you have then I would say it might need a bleed through a diagnostic scanner.
so, you drive the car around and add some more coolant when the car required? if you did all what i was done in the video, you should be fine. BUT! some ofbrads matrixes can be weird, because in the inside the channels are a bit smaller and you can heart like it a air trapped inside, it's just because the of brands are a bit cheaper, but it's better to get a high quality matrix
When this same problem occurred I first looked on eBay to see if there was a heater valve that might be failed and part stuck( because this car stood for 1 year) and there was a couple listed on there so that too is a possibility. Theres nothing in the fault codes to suggest ( if there is a motorised valve) that it isn’t working electrically but it may be detached from the plunger head that restricts the flow of coolant. I’ll only find out when I dig into it….🤷♂️
Good video, very thorough, thank you , Danke schön.👍 I now have this job to do also ☹️
many thanks for this, video, it has given me the confidence to do this job on my car.
Very nice video ! Can you put a list of all the parts you bought ?
You know the size of the washers? Thanks!! Nice video!!
Does it prime itself?

Thanks I gotta do this on my FR, tired of looking at my engine management light 😅

Was the coolant rust inhibitor bag damaged inside the expansion tank?
i had replace the expansion tank long time ago, with a new one without the silicone bag
why distilled water? i dont see you use it in the video :)
