@carla thank you for the amazing topics. A future topic to consider please. Is Tax emigration, with such a high tax rate in SA. A the costs of private schools , along with the concern in safety. Dubai is always in most people’s list. But Mauritius which I have traveled to often seems as a better option. Especially for a professional that can remotely work while still working with SA clients mostly. Could you do a podcast on SA tax laws with Mauritius. I understand there are new laws that limit double taxation. But does that apply even if you still do a lot of business in SA while you reside in Mauritius? Thank you.
@@MoneywithCarlajust to make it more complicated if possible - Mauritius seems to be targeted a 50+yr old range due to Tax benefits and government property investment? The other grey area is money being generated from SA while residing in Mauritius will that still be taxed by SA. ie residing in Mauritius for +91 days and remote working for SA entity. Will one need to still pay SA tax?
Please, explain to US why its so expensive to live in SWITZERLAND? U re living in a very blessed country in terms of beautiful nature, sightseeings, mountains and have the best car traffic system monitoring system and efficient transportation. The quality of life is awesome, but considering ECONOMY development i couldn´t understand why everything needs to be very expensive.
Hi Carla, baie dankie vir jou interresante videos. Dit is baie insiggewend. Watter land tussen Switzerland en Nederland in jou opinie maak die meeste finansieel sin in terme van cost of living teenoor salaries earned?
Wow! Super expensive! Interesting to see what you spend and how much it realistically costs. Groceries are superrrr expensive!!! Why is Zurich so expensive?
Hi Carla. Would you say your quality of life is better in Switzerland than it would be as a CA (and whatever job your husband does) in South Africa? Because I know many CAs and financial people in South Afirca and they live in freestanding houses, they don't have to go to another country to buy anything other than groceries, and eating meat is a common practice.
@@frikkiediehaai9477 good question! I think it's hard to get the South Africa meat, space and affordable restaurants & help anywhere else in the world! But it comes with other trade offs (safety, economic uncertainty, municipal services etc), like always. Luckily I get to spend 4-5 months a year in South Africa 😍
@@MoneywithCarla yes South Africans easily take for granted how affordable help (cleaners, nannies, gardeners) is here. I'm glad you still get to enjoy South Africa.
How can you build lifetime equity without owning a home? The short-term apartments are fine but this does not build life wealth and legacy wealth. It seems to be a limited solution.
Very useful! Just got a job offer and moving from Barcelona to Zurich within 1-2 months.
@@qhilip congrats!
Very insightful!
Thank you so much for your insightful videos Carla! I'm curious-what made you decide to move to Switzerland and not, for example, the Netherlands?
I actually lived in the Netherlands before 😄 loved it. My husband is Swiss and we "escaped" here from London during Covid and never moved back.

Not necessarily, the buy vs rent debate is worth having but something an entire video is needed for 😊
