    I am from Norway and as you expect a huge Ruud fan, I really wished that he would win this game, I even put 25$ on Stake but its ok because eventho he lost I still think he played at a high level and he had the chance to win against Zverev which is already a good sign that Ruud is back in top form 😁

      I love Ruud. He reminds me a lot of David Ferrer-a gritty fighter with a very gentle personality. I think Casper's best days are still ahead of him. Ferrer didn't reach his peak until his late twenties/early thirties.

  • @AntonioMac3301
    @AntonioMac3301 วันที่ผ่านมา +33

    2 separate points I'm noticing where Alcaraz is pulling in Rublev to put him in a bad position:
    1:50 - Rublev hits a backhand (almost inside out) to Alcaraz's forehand and Alcaraz does a defensive forehand slice to slow down the pace to allow him to recover. This slice actually is pretty short, and Rublev has to step inside the baseline (no man's land). Since the ball is short with heavy amounts of backspin, hitting an offensive topspin shot is difficult, but Rublev still gits a great forehand. However, because he is inside the baseline, when Alcaraz returns with a deep forehand, Rublev is forced into an awkward shot: running backwards and has to hit an on-the-rise backhand against a loopy forehand from Alcaraz. This is pretty difficult to hit, even for pros like Rublev, so Rublev's following backhand at 1:55 is weak, allowing Alcaraz to capitalize on a high ball in the center of the court. This allowed Alcaraz to flatten out his forehand and also hit a wider angle, granting him a winner
    A similar story goes for 2:11 - Alcaraz hits a short, low backhand slice to draw Rublev in. When Rublev returns the slice, he is drawn into the court as he backhand slices the ball back to Alcaraz forehand. Alcaraz knows Rublev is drawn into the court, and he hits a deep ball to force Rublev to backpedal and cover more ground. Running backwards is always harder than running forwards, and Alcaraz's forehand is not only deep but at a great angle, granting him another winner

      Low slow BH is Achilles heel of 2hbh. Cannot do anything but ladle it back and now you're stuck in a bad position trying to recover. Fed's fav tactic off a high BH. Only remedy is a heavy sidespin short approach down the line sideT and smother the net. No one can do this these days. No one can teach this cept maybe an old school Aussie like Rochie.

    Once again, we had proof of the natural talent that Alcaraz has. It doesn't matter how much he'd win, he's the only player in activity with lethal combination of talent and hard work. Sinner is great but he has to work harder than Alcaraz to get to the same and higher level, as he doesn't have the same natural skills. As recent past has taught us, super hard work could overcome combination of talent and work, anyway.

    Rublev needs to improve his game! Rublev has a lot of capacity to go far in tournaments, but it's defeats like this that weigh heavily when it comes to moving up a level. He faced a “sick” Alcaraz and came from a tough defeat against Casper. This was a game made for Rublev to eliminate the Spaniard from the ATP FINALS and stay alive in the tournament. However, Rublev needs to renew his game, as this is not the first time he has hit the post at important moments and this cost him an early elimination from the competition. Something I notice is that Rublev loses himself a lot emotionally and this makes him lose control of the game. Alcaraz deserves credit for playing “sick” and, after a defeat in the debut, recovering in the competition. It's difficult to see Alcaraz with mental health problems. Alcaraz has a very strong psychology.

    Ruud is a great player but he doesn’t do a great job at using his legs arm to hit flat. He gave average so much time to get to the ball with all that shape. Zverev is tall and he will hit the ball down and flat because it’s in his strike zone. Zverev has to take no risk on Ruud’s rally balls, and Ruud was playing safe which means he went into the match expecting to lose
