    Thank you, I'm entering at a much lower level than your setup but wanted a decent cockpit. This seems like a winner for me and I really appreciate your video showing it in detail.

      P.s. I see they sell Casters for this. Do you see any big downside with having the whole setup on casters? I do not have a dedicated space, so I will be using it in my livingroom and with casters would be able to push it out to the side when not in use.

      @@crawlgsx depending on your wheelbase and pedals you may be better off buying the ART cockpit, also the casters isn't really a good idea if they're anything like the ones on the ART because they have a tendency to bend

    I ditched the angled pedal plate and attached my Heusinkveld Sprints directly to the rig base plate. Only needed six M6 holes drilling after making a careful template of the base of the Sprints.
    Rock solid at 60kg brake force. Recommended. There is plenty of adjustment in the Sprints themselves to make up for the loss of the angle plate. Good rig.

    • @enterthebiscuit
      @enterthebiscuit 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spam Crud this is perfect news! I have CSL Elite LC and feel the same... though i might make a 1-inch marine plywood base to bolt the pedals to, and then bolt the ply to the base plate. In case I ever change pedals!

    • @DoomiePookie
      @DoomiePookie 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi if i want to drill holes for M6 bolts, what size drill piece do i use? Im new to all this.

    • @enterthebiscuit
      @enterthebiscuit 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DoomiePookie minimum 6, up to 7. It isn't critical which, as by the time you've drilled 2 or 4 holes and mounted it, you can adjust for any slack by pushing the pedal plate away from you before tightening the nuts. I found this very easy with a HSS drill bit and mains-powered drill. The steel of the Titan is mild and it goes through well. I would strongly recommend creating a starting point with a bradawl (or screw) and hammer, to avoid the 6/7mm drill bit slipping and sliding. Take your time to line it up; create the initial indentation like i just described, and measure again. Just watch out for sharp edges on the under-side after you drill through. Very sharp and needs either filing down or just hammering flat. When the washer and nut go on it will hide any ugliness.

    I am looking at the rig. I am thinking about mine. Mine is a full frame motion rig. It's made of steel which is heavy but I don't see the flex in mine between the V-3 pedals and the rest of the rig. I don't have the HV pedals. but I will do a video motion test to see the flex like you did.. I don't feel any flex, but I'm new to the whole sim racing thing so If you need to sling some mud my way to keep me in check, go right ahead. I appreciate you taking the time to show the possible rig problems and I understand them. DMAX motion Sim

    • @TheSimChannel

      Your rig is quite different from this one, and I would expect it to have less flex. The V3s require quite a bit less force on the brake than the HEs, and they don't have the same levarage. Also some of the artificial flex tests I do here (e.g., GT Omega Prime review wheel deck flex) I wouldn't do with a CSL Elite base out of fear of breaking the wheel base's plastic housing and internals. In other words I sometimes put quite a bit of force in ;-) Cheers!

      I agree, although I also since bought Fanatec H-Shifter and handbrake, so I ditched the Titan arm and built a wooden centre console like in a real car, with "joists" underneath (going transverse) onto which the Titan sits (complete with its feet). Took some work but well worth it. On a wooden floor with furniture pads i can push it around too 🙂

    Im not thinking of upgrading any time soon and right now i got a t300 with t-lcm pedals, i use it for medium competitive gameplay so its not like im in esports or smth. With my setup right now should I go for an ART or for a TITAN, i got the budget for it but if i went 80 cheaper it would be even better. I heard there was some flex in the pedal base with the ART and im scared its going to be too annoying.
    Thanks everybody

      Between the two I'd go with the Titan. I haven't tried the Art, but based on the design and thickness of the tubing I'd expect it to flex more. Also the Titan looks a lot better IMO :-)

    I believe my review on my channel was the updated version. I wondered why my rig looked different to the one you reviewed. I dont think mine had as much flex. So maybe it has been updated? The bottom section of the pedal plate(the part attached to the side of the frame) is longer on mine . So the believe it stops some of the flex

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought that too, but actually that part doesn't flex at all. It's the steel tubing / the connection in the middle that flexes slightly when you put a lot of force on it. But you don't really feel that flex, so it's a non-issue, and I'm pretty sure there's not gonna be a difference between my rig and the production rigs in that regard.
      Anyway, cool to see someone starting a sim racing channel at such a young age. Keep it up! :-)

I believe this is the updated part....its welded on the frame. I still use a metal post off the end of the upper plate down to the floor for full stability on the flex with LC breaking.
      Also, thanks for showing your DD1 mounted. I am considering going from the CSW to the DD1 and wondered about the difference in wheel distance to my chest. The DD1 looks to move the wheel about 2-3 inches closer to you than a CSL/CSW bases?

      I think the SimLab GT-1 Evo (or other mid-sized 8020 rigs) could be an alternative if you're looking for something more flexible without breaking the bank. Watch my review on the P1-X for more on 8020 rigs. (and feel free to use my affiliate links if you happen to order at one of those companies :)). That being said, I think the Titan can work for people a little over 6 feet as well without issues. Depends just a bit on how much more you're planning to grow ;-)

      @@TheSimChannel sorry I had another question. Do you know if the GT1-Evo is a good rigid rig. I’m saving for a Fanatec GT DD Pro and I really want a rig that can take it. Also do you know if the seat comes with the rig or do I have to buy that separately?

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@neoniklasson162 yes, the GT-1 Evo is very rigid, no problem at all with the GT DD Pro. By default it doesn't come with a seat, but you can order seats from SimLab, as well as from other vendors, depending on what you like / want / can afford. Make sure you get seat sliders and seat brackets when you get a side-mounted bucket seat. I have a few videos on seats and stuff on my channel, I think you should click through the channel a little and check out whatever video is of interest to you, there should be quite a few that could be of interest to you :)

    Thank you for this! I already own a 2020 model of Titan and only have a CSL Elite PS4 wheelbase at present, but want to go DD soon (more than a CSL DD). My seat is a Corbeau reclining fabric seat on Sparco sliders, so it sits lower and flatter than your bucket seat. I really want to mount my pedals directly onto the Titan base plate because they are too high (relative to a GT-style car or at least a normal road car) when using the adjustable bracket. But I might upgrade my CSL Elite LC pedals first.... not sure what yet, but I want longer travel and better damping. Thoughts?

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      quick thoughts: yes, good idea to upgrade the pedals. go Heusinkveld. then try to find a Porsche dealership and sit in a 911, maybe you'll come to the conclusion that your pedals don't really need to be much lower. :)

    • @enterthebiscuit
      @enterthebiscuit 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TheSimChannel thanks on all points. The reason i want to lower the pedals is that I have the adjustable plate angled towards me so that when the Elite pedals are mounted, they point vertically up rather than being angled backwards. I noticed that the Heusinkveld Sprints and Ultimates both look to be vertical by default. I guess I should buy the new pedals and mount them on the horizontally positioned Titan base plate to evaluate how high they really are in that position.

    • @TheSimChannel
      @TheSimChannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@enterthebiscuit right, the Fanatec pedals have a very weird angle. The heusinkvelds are adjustable that way, and more upright in all cases.

    • @TheSimChannel

      I would be very surprised if that chair has the right mounting points. They would roughly have to be in the four corners of the seat on the underside. If you see no threaded holes there, then no. I made some seat recommendations before, I think it was in the GT Omega Pro buyers guide. Maybe check that out.
