    Both performed quite well for their class of vehicle, though the newer version seems better tuned overall.

      Since 2017 CX-5 is equipped with "hidden" offroad mode, activated by the TCS OFF button, later on officially changed into Off-Road Traction Assist, here's our note about it: facebook.com/StacjaKontroliTrakcji/posts/893142981163889

    Hello. I have a useful desire. I believe that the same tests should be carried out, but on the mountain, because on a flat road it is very simple and almost every car can handle it. In this way, you will increase the load during the tests. But if you imagine real conditions, for example, swamp or snow, then the car will not be as easy as on dry asphalt.

    2:55 why don't they just add some code like "if acceleration=0 then distribute power to wheel with spin=0" I mean it can't be that difficult detecting if the vehicle is actually moving at all.

    I'm very impressed with the CX-8 diesel there is in my greater family.
    Too bad CX-5 just wasn't for me for few reasons...
    It's quiet and comfortable. The trunk is more usable than in CX-5. I hope Mazda will offer more utilitarian version CX-5 in the future. The CX-50 is decent, will see in real life. ;)

      And how is Mazda doing on Japanese market? Is it serious or niche player?

    • @valdius85
      @valdius85 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@4x4.tests.on.rollers
      I'd say serious for CX-5/8 class, which is fairly big class. I mean middle sized SUVs are popular in Japan.
      There is plenty of them. More than Hondas. Many Subaru's customers moved to Mazda - this fairytale I was told at Mazda's dealership.
      I'd say they in the top 5 of middle sized SUVs in Japan. They're doing better than Honda in that class :)
      2020/21 was less busy because CX-5/8 are relatively old.

The common three roller fails, it'd be interesting to watch what breaking/torque would be neccessary to get the car off the rollers. A nice addition also would be the rpm from each wheel.

    Doing the tests with Traction Control switched off, is not meaningful in my opinion, as the manufacturer would have recommended leaving it on for daily driving anyway. There are only specific cases where the feature needs to be disabled.

    • @BartoszRybacki0
      @BartoszRybacki0 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the button was designed to be use exactly in special cases like this test. Special cases include: driving offroad and trying to get out of in mud or out of rollers ;). So it is good they switched off the TCS OFF for this special case.
