After you have to do it so much it becomes like second nature. Some people are naturals. Its like roller skating, you do it often, you learn it! It's definitely a skill/talent!!
They actually make special heels for dancers that have reinforced heels and a flexible forefoot so that they can point their toes and do all the moves they do. A lot of people claim they're more comfortable than conventional heels as well.
I think they work out in them to get knee strength a good balance.
Ikr, like Ariana and Taylor blow my mind with how they dance in tall heels!🤯🤯 I really want to learn to start walking in simple heels but I still can’t find my balance😂

Fun fact I wore sneaker wedges to my graduation! 😁 AND EVERYONE I WAS GRADUATING WITH STARTED YELLING AT ME because I wasn’t “following” dress code. Little did they *know I talked to the head leader of the ceremony and literally the code was put in place so no body would show up in their gym shoes and attire. *those same people yelling at me about dress code also didn’t include me in their memo about wearing a white dress so sucks to be them because they looked like everyone else on their special day instead of being themself. Lol
My aunt bought me these to wear it at her wedding. My mom says it would be disrespectful if I dont wear them so i have to 😭 and I'm gonna be a bridesmaid so if I fall everything is OVER

my mum was a dancer in heels in her late teens, when i first wanted to wear heels at 15 she made me walk up and down a long corridor focussing on posture and telling me not to walk on the balls of my feet and to lean in to my hip for more stability on a stiletto (which also somehow gives you a nice sexy sway too). how does one lean into their hip? I'm one year into heels and I still feel as clunky as a child on my stilettos :-/
For me, none of these tips helped. The best tip I ever got was to keep your hips loose. I would tense up every muscle in my body to keep from falling over, which made my walk look very stiff. Keep your posture straight, shoulders back, chin down, hips loose and swaying, core tight, ankles loose and flexible. You'll feel ridiculous swaying your hips like Jessica Rabbit, but you'll walk perfectly and feel stable!

Or do what I do and buy a large floor to ceiling mirror from ikea and practice walking a few minutes a day in front of it. You’re in your house so if you fall, nobody will see and if you want to switch it up then switch from carpet to hard floor and vice versa ☺️ I used to be into modeling and this helped me ALOT. I used to walk like a horse lmao not a cute one either

Damn right, I misjudged how high the heel is in the new heels I got, I now have to train myself how to walk in these cuz they are gorgeous and they are not going to be a decoration.
It just takes lots and lots of practice. Just remember it's heel to toe, swing the hips in sync with the legs and get your own personal walking trait that is most comfortable for you and you've got it. Don't swing the hips too much like they do on the catwalk and the classic walking trait is imagine if you're walking along an imaginary long straight line and one foot in front of the other. Just depends what gait you're comfortable with. I'm a xdresser and been walking in very high heels for years and it's second nature now, easy! Good luck girls and guys! 👍👠.

*Another tip not mentioned:* Scan the ground every few steps. It sounds tedious, I know, but after a while you'll do it automatically ( especially after the first time you step on a pebble and flail your way into the next dimension in front of that cute person you were trying to impress).

My first time in heels (ofc, that doesn't include my practice time walking around my house like an idiot) which is my prom, i wore 3 inches chunky heels for 6 hours, I danced, jumped, and did many crazy thing in it but didn't end up hurting my feet after because of these tutorials in yt. So helpful. Didn't even slip. Didn't even trip. 👌😁

I never really walk in heels but when I do my legs always trembling or I can never walk straight. I keep telling myself "be confident. You're 'that badass'. You're a woman and own it." And I gain confidence from that. I feel that power and I try not to think about falling. That's my secret with walking in heels.

Thank you for this video! You know what was so helpful? The heel first tip. I have some amazing super high Prada heels I splurged on years ago and never wear because I felt like I was could only take stompy baby steps in them. Just a little heel first has changed everything! :)
Me and my cousin recently got our first pair, she has experience with smaller heels (around 2 inches) however I have little to no experience at all. I do think that these tips will help us not to look too stiff and weird while we walk. Best of luck to anyone else learning how to walk in heels like we are!!

You should also demonstrate on grass, dirt, gravel and uneven surfaces more. When people wear shoes, it's usually becuase they go outside to get to somewhere. This lesson is good for flat surfaces. But the great outdoors isn't flat.

In grass don't sink your heel in! You'll get the heel dirty so try to put all the weight in the front :)

I support you but keep in mind to not wear them too much yet since your body isn't done growing yet and it might harm your feet
Edit: Also try not to wear anything too high until you're a bit older. I know it's tempting but your feet will thank you

I used to walk in heels like a pro but then I got some health problems where I lost the ability to walk for a month and then I start with small steps like i am teaching myself to walk like a baby and I really miss walking in heels, I find the “heel to toe” tip really good cuz it give the balance and even if you trip it won’t be as bad as if you throw your whole feet

Yesterday I was walking like a robot in chunky heel boots, and girls were still envying me for my heels 👠 🎶 🤣🤣🤣🤣 damn, my feet hurt, the heels were 4 inches I guess. Nobody knows about the pain in your feet, just the confidence you have , is worth envying .
