I learned how to these tips when I was 16. I used to run in 3 inch heels with a US size 5.5. Yeah it makes a difference when you have a smaller foot. nice advice however. I see a lot of women stumbling in heels because they ARE LEANING THEIR ENTIRE BODY FORWARD. Should have spoke to that as well in addition to leaning back when they walk. They wont be able to lean back if their entire body is hunched forward.
Thank you for the reminder. I'm 68 have been wearing flat heels for last 5 years. I'm attending a wedding and the dress I'm wearing requires pretty high heel sandals. I have to practice walking in my high heels so your video is very helpful. I worry about the rather skinny heel slipping. Any tips for to prevent slipping on them and falling. Yikes!
Thank you so much for this teaching. I am 60 years young and decided to wear high heels again as age tends to shrink one and we lose our confidence. So I find this very helpful and start with a kitten heel first which is low and elegant until I move onto the platform heel then stilettos. God bless you Parmita. You are very graceful and lovely.❤
Bible Jeremiah 1:5 , It is true that Jesus Christ aka God doesn´t want people to talk bad about people , but I´m just given people a choice to live right by given them understanding of what I´ve seen that are to come . Bible Luke 16:31 , Bible Deut. 4:2 .
And Jesus Christ believes in when a female is age 15 for the oldest males are to be for them to be age 25 being 10 years apart and if males are 40 of age as an example the oldest female to be age 50 only . I don´t know what he believes in when females are age 14 and younger to be with what age the oldest male to be for them though . The Blessed Mary & Jesus Christ never told me . Only this stuff .
I love heels 👠 but have always had difficulty wearing them. I tend to walk fast & the next thing I know, my feet hurt! These suggestions are really helpful. You always look so beautiful Parmita. Thank you! 🙏🏻❤️💕💐
What about walking heels on different surfaces because I do well with carpet but tiles etc it feels like I’m going to fall because of how slippery the floor is .
Yes, and color of the tiles is often a complex texture so dirt wouldn't be so easily seen. Sadly, water or other spilled liquids are not seen too. It's freaking easy to trip and fall in heels on tiled floors, no matter how careful you are
First thing I do with my new heels I take them outside and rub the soles on cement so I don't slip all over place. I always get them a half size smaller warm them by shoving a hair dryer inside and stretch the tight areas heat and get my foot in stretch them to my feet, and areas I feel too much pressure I heat stretch, Some are at an odd angle and I need to break in like ballerina point shoes I bend and twist them, Obviously certain materials you can't do this with. I got sick of buying heels I couldn't walk in not matter what I paid or the brand, now I look for quality and go thru my break in routine... Definitely rub your heels on cement!!!!!!!!
All correct! Awesome tips. I realized for the first time in my life that my natural walk is made for heels. I step on heel to toe and lean backward in any shoes. That's why I don't wear flat shoes, a small heel or platform only. I walk slower in heels, but that's what heels make you do, otherwise your feet get tired very soon. Unfortunately, I don't wear heels too often, as I'm quite tall and feel like a giant wearing them. My other problem is very narrow and small feet (US 5-6), so I slip out of the most classic heels. The solution I found is either Mary Jane design or detachable straps.
Ah! My 4th child is graduating high school on Thursday ans this 46 year olds mom just practiced walking in heels and they felt super comfortable! Thank you so much !! ❤
I love heels and have thoroughly enjoyed this video. Some of the best advice I can give aspiring high heel wearers is getting the high heel shoe that fits the shape of your foot. I have ‘boney feet’, and some manufacturers have a large toe box. This doesn’t work for me as my foot tends to slide forward and cramps my toes. I also have a narrow heel that doesn’t allow me to wear pumps. It doesn’t matter who makes them, as my heel always slips out of the back of the shoe. I understand this and accommodate the fit by choosing the style of shoe and manufacturer that fits me best. For my needs, I can wear a zipper back heel that is open or closed toe, (except Michael Kors due to the constricting toe box that is too narrow and short). Heel height. I found the 4 inch heel perfect. I noticed the host of this video is wearing a 3 in heel at best. This incline produces an unnatural angle where the balance is not on the ball of your foot. I tend to walk clumsy in that heel height. Also, notice the placement of the heel. It is directly underneath the shoe, and not at the end of her heel! Stilettos that have a the heel placement toward the back of the shoe require more of an adjustment. Your balance will be more towards the front of the shoe. Calf pain and cramps will eventually go away as you build this unknown muscle you are building. The point on all of this is to find the correct fit for your foot shape as well as the heel height. The higher the heel the more likely you need to balance on the ball of your foot and not the heel. With practice you can master ANY heel height. You will eventually find your balance and walk naturally as though you are not wearing heels at all.
I love these. I'd definitely squeeze loosen up in there. Like relax your hips and sway them. Makes it a lot easier to walk, looks a lot better & more natural, AND helps you take smoother shorter strides. You don't walk like a stick with 1 foot directly in front of the other naturally so doing it in heels looks unnatural. Also I'd recommend doing some calf stretches every morning. Simple ones- flat feet up to tip toes, back down, then back up, repeat, repeat. I will say that you're simple advice to look at your goal instead of looking down at the floor does help. And it's so simple I love it!
Brilliant tips! I can go from my combat boots to a gown and heels within the same day. I was taught young how to walk in heels. Watching you run had me in stitches 😂! Phenomenal channel, I subbed. Cheers
Thank you so much. Never has a video ever helped me so much. The top that helped was when you said. “Heel then toe” I’ve been walking on my toes trying to keep myself up hurting my shin and calf and never knowing why. Omg thank you lol I have so many heels I can now wear 😂🥹👏🏾😌
When I reached the age to wear heels my grandma had me stand with a book on my head and walk back and forth keeping the book on my head. it mad me do all you suggested in one swoop.
I am older now, never had issues with heels, now I am out of practice SO thanks for the tips. My heel height has to be less these days. I WILL practice more.
Since the pandemic I have lived in slippers. I have always worn heels since 7th grade, hence a shortened Achilles heel. I'm 75 and really desire to get back to my wonderful collection of high heels. Thank you.
😂 I SURE wish I would have found you so much sooner, I think you have such a great personality and you're so blessed with SUCH BEAUTY 😍, I recently found your page, and STARTED following you, your face yoga really work's, i'm 69 years old and have deep laugh line's, doing your excersis really work's ‼️😅 I see it actually helping, Thank you so very much 🙏 GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY Amen 🙏
This is helpful I’m a teenager and I chose some heels abit tall like 3 in and I did learn to use them in my sweet 15 but forgot now 😅 so thank u so much
I do prefer walking barefoot and Earthing, but heels are still cute and send the right impression in job interviews, so I shall wear them instead of my old boots.
I look for where the heel is positioned on the shoe. The heals that are positioned more to the back or front will impact your center of gravity. Ilook for heels positioned under the middle of my heel.
tsym. I finally convinced my mom to buy me heels (18M) and ir lly needed to figure out how not to flop down or look like a duck while trying o walk. This rlly helped, tyy
Thank you Parmita, fabulous tips - can you do further tips on wearing heels but coping with other situations like how to walk up and down stairs safely and correctly, things like that, thank you ❤
I don't know why Im watching this because I've got a severe joint injury due to an accident but I have to attend a wedding in 3 days and I've been planning for so long to wear my favorite high heels😅 but now I can't even stand without support I have no idea what I will do in heels
I feel like there's a sixth, possibly more important, tip left out, walking with the feet in line with each other. 1:47 clearly shows the small out and around motion to get the foot back on the centerline
I have worked in shoe production. I wouldn't recommend stretching them out up front. The sweat and heat of your foot will mold the shoe and stretch it out over time. If you get a cobbler to stretch it at the beginning of their lifespan, you will end up with shoes that don't fit in much shorter time. ...Then you will need those heel pads. This happens more with leather and natural shoes. I very often see people with shoes that are WAY too big for their feet....and that is a safety hazard when walking. You can buy a perfect fit but remember those will stretch over time too. If you want your investment to last then get, for example, your pumps , a little small. They will form around your foot. Also notee that "vegan leather" is just various forms of PU..... meaning oil based plastic (not landfill friendly). They will not mold or stretch the same way as leather, if they stretch at all. Also remember that your foot swells throughout the day... so don't make a drastic "I need to get these stretched" decision after a long night. Your foot will be larger at the end of the night, but not the next time you put them on.....so also know the cycle of your foot.
Hi there, Thanks for you video. I am having trouble with walking in stilettos. I can walk easily with platform shoes, but because the stilettos I have, don’t support my feet, my feet are going inwards, bending the heel. And my first time wearing them, I wore them all day at an event. I didn’t realise it until later, how my feet were bending in. From that day, I ruined the shoes because they have moulded into a wonky shape. I think I have this issue due to having highly flexible feet. I had gotten my feet checked about 6yrs ago, and I got orthotics, but even when I am just walking on my tippy toes, my feet bend inwards. I wanted to ask first, is there any way of fixing the shoes so that they can bend them back to be straight without snapping it? Because they were quite expensive and I only got to wear them once. And also, is there any way I can walk with the shoes with my foot problems? I have tried practising constantly and doing like what you showed in the video, but it’s not doing anything as my feet just won’t walk straight-wards when wearing them. But I really want to be able to wear the same/similar types of heels, at least by 6 months, when I have another significant event. I am trying to do some foot workouts, but I don’t think that I would drastically change how I walk in them. Sorry for the big explanation. I just can’t think of any solution.
When I walk heel-to-toe, I can feel the heel slightly bemding or slipping under the pressure and then I automatically swap over to putting the whole foot down. How can I overcome this?
Parmita my kitten heels r shaking, my body type is short n I'm heavy so is that a problem n I get bruses as soon as I wear them 😢 I have tried using Dr's tape on toes n show strip on shoe n on my ankle but nothing is helping me. I'm wearing a size 13 and im also a 13' in womansb for shoes Yet Im in so much pain afterwords and I feel like my feet dont go into the heels very well do to my non danty feet. Im using 6inch platforms. Maybe I need a size up or something.
