  • Pauline Boss, PhD coined the term "ambiguous loss" in the 1970's. It's a term that many of us, within our community know if you have experienced loving someone with dementia. In this episode of Make time to Connect, Pauline Boss talks to us about how to live amongst its emotional challenges.

"Both Ends" thinking ....What a perfect description of what I've experienced with Ambiguous Loss. Being OK to grieve what is no longer a part of our relationship while thankful for what we still have --- and knowing this will change over time as the illness progresses. Thank you, Dr. Boss (and Emma for sharing this).

Wonderful video filled with caregiver information I have been needing to hear? Thank you Emma for your search for help and guidance for caregivers. Dr. Pauline Boss was excellent.
A little info about me. My husband was diagnosed with FTD 2 years ago. I attend a support group monthly and have gained insight into this disease, and comfort and understanding from fellow caretakers who get what I am going through. I too have made the decision to accept this illness that I cannot change. My hope is that research will have a breakthrough sooner rather than later. Sending prayers to you and your family. 🤍🙏
