Last time in NO I showed up to domilise’s a few minutes after they closed… the owner invited me in, fired up the grill and made me a fresh po’boy. Life long fan 👍
@@nathanieldimemmo1330 I agree. I'm sure this restaurant was open at least 8 hours prior to his arrival. But nope, he had to show up after it was closed and extend what was probably an 8, 12 even 16 hour day for the owner. Pretty disrespectful imo.

I’m from New Orleans and you are right-Thank you! We are famous for our food for good reason--It’s Delicious. I’m proud to be a great New Orleans cook, according to all my friends and family. 😊 My parents took us to Parkway when we were kids (I’m 73), before it was turned into what ever it is now. 👎🏼 The closest I have found to the original Parkway Bakery is Bear’s in Covington or Big Bears in Mandeville Louisiana. Guy’s has been open 42 years. A million sandwiches in that time would be 23.8k per year. 65.2 per day. Or in an 8 hour day, 8.15 per hour. Honestly…not a stretch to say he’s made a million.
@@bananahammock9119 Makes perfect sense to me. According to the OP the guy makes exactly 8.15 pizzas every hour, 65.2 every day and 23.8k every year for 42 years. That's in an ideal world. I eat at least one po'boy per day when visiting NOLA. Ended up at Guy's simply because we were walking in the LDS and needed something to eat. Didn't realize it was so highly rated. Great spot, this was midday on a weekday and there were a ton of construction workers and locals on their lunch break. I got the shrimp and my dad the roast beef - both were amazing!

Gotta love watching Harry and Joe grab some good grub while I'm sitting at home eating some food, pretending I was eating one of those sandwiches lol. Pretty funny they were talking about struggling to pace themselves and literally next spot they went inside to get another sandwich lol.
The bread is unique because of the humidity, but more importantly, the mineral content of the water... drive 1 hour west and its completely different... that's why most poboy shops in south louisiana get their bread from new orleans... just a 30 minute drive in any direction and it's not the same
