I love those curvy pieces. It heightens the quality and value of a furniture piece AND brings it that classic look. Complications are the name of the game, as it were. Haven’t had a furniture piece I’ve sought to restore that DIDN’T have troubleshooting issues. The chest is really coming together.
Hi, Mike and Jeanie! It is neat that you were able to use Jeanie's template from her craft to make the base for the blanket chest. It is a nice personal touch that makes the chest uniquely hers, as well as a marriage of all the crafts and skills that you two possess ❤
It’s starting to look like a blanket chest. Said it before love the 2 different types of wood on it. I also like the design for the bottom piece, simple yet elegant. Can’t wait for the finished product. I’m sure Jeannie can’t either. Anxious to see you clean up the walnut board. I can vision it as beautiful as walnut is. ♥️♥️😊👍👍🌟
I have been enjoying your channel since the beginning, me and my wife watch you guys every Saturday, just wanted to let you know how special you guys are and how much we appreciate all your videos, you guys inspire us, love you guys, keep doing your thing
Almost done and looking good! Somewhere along the line, I had misunderstood and thought you were building a separate bottom frame that the chest could set down into or lifted out of! I like it either way, it's just different and I was surprised! 😂 This is far more usual and probably a lot more practical. Have a great weekend!
Somewhere on your Schedule should be building the stairs and landing from the utility room and add a clothes line (perhaps with a pulley system) o it does not interfere with the mower.
See, I knew you would find a solution. When you said there was a problem, I said to just cut out the area where it shows, and you did the next best thing. 👌 👍
chipboard (sim to cereal box carboard) may be better to use to make a short use template and perhaps brad angle the cleats, and metal tap the angled corners (from underside)

That is the way things always go around here. They say you have to have a sense of humor to own an old house!

I totally agree!
The chest is really looking good. I'm looking forward to seeing the walnut cleaned up. It is a beautiful wood. See ya next week 🤗❤️🤍💙
Looks great well done .👍
Thanks 👍
The chest is looking great. Can't wait to see its finished self.❤
Its looking beautiful. That template is called a French curve. I like the simple but elegant design you came up for the base with it.

Lol! This should work really well, and we're eager to get it done.
I twill look magnificent and finished just in time to pack away winter blankets.
Hah! You're right about that!
I've always installed the base trim first on furniture projects and then add glue blocks.
That's probably a better way to do it.
@@1834RestorationHouse Just apply glue to both sides of the block, press it in place and wiggle it a bit - no clamps required.
Spring will be here soon. Back to projects on the house.
Spring keeps teasing us, then it leaves.
it is going to look fantastic when finished

You know me well! ;-)

Nice 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
That decorative addition is lovely - I can't wait to see it all finished!!
Hoping that next episode will pull it all together!
You can take off wood with wood glue use a blow dryer on it and will come off. Dollhouse , I had to do take off a piece.
I just love your windows, I was wondering if you have developed a plan for restoring them and making them better insulated.
We would like to strip them and refinish. Most of the sash weights have broken cords so they need to be opened up and fixed.
"Oh, yeah!" It's turning out lovely! Your new project/channel should be interesting - are you finished with college?
No, I'm on a break right now.
Awesome job on the blanket chest. Did you graduate from your college classes already?
Not yet.
Hope you are not using her fabric shears! See Howto Renovate a Chateau a couple episodes back.
No, they are paper cutters. :-)
