I appreciate how you take the time to do things right, even when it is something that will be hidden from view. I feel like this attention to detail and pride in a job well done is lacking in every aspect of life nowadays and it is reassuring to see that someone out there is still willing to take the time to do the task correctly. Thank you for emphasizing this pride in your workmanship and leading by example!
So many little details I’ve learned through this “duct with me” tutorial-esque video. Especially if I’m ever met with being in this situation myself. Also love the idea of people asking me where I learned such things! Those less desired projects that you don’t see but that you feel and help overall. The quite literal groundwork of putting back together a beautiful home like this. We do need more people like Mike and Jeanie…I hope I’m spelling her name correctly.
I admire you at how well you do your work. It’s very true when you do craft or anything that has to be made you want to take pride in your work. I see many furniture makeovers n they never finish the back or inside of the piece. I know you can’t wait to get this or should I say under the house. It’ll be so nice not to sweat in the house in the summer or freeze in the winter. Looking forward to see you crawling under the house for a good reason. ♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🥰
I do not envy you working on that metal ducting! Hard and tedious! I keep hoping you’ll put on some gloves while you’re working! That stuff must be so sharp! Take care! Best, Jan
@1834 RestorationHouse. Good thing you have the cooler weather to work on this. Then I would say it's been the right time to do this. In Tampa, we have had extremely hot weather and no rain ( I said we were already into summer over two weeks ago. The feel like temps this past week already over 100). BTW, the "lost" drill bit hopefully won't rattle due to vibration. 🤔 Then again, if it does, maybe no one will hear it under the house.😄
One day, Mike, when you are long gone, some new owner will do something in the crawlspace and see your work and say, "Man! What craftsmanship!" Hi, Jeanie hope you are doing well.
I will never do this but it was very interesting to watch. I have went under the house before. Not something I really want to do again. I'll happily watch you do it next week. Enjoy the weekend. 🤗❤️🤍💙
I cringe every time Mike that you bend the sheet metal. When I was younger our bedroom floor had a heat vent that you could see the floor below. It allowed heat from downstairs to come upstairs in older home, as I know you know that. Well, one day I had to help the landlord with something on the vent and he had me reach my hand through the vent and when I brought my hard out it sliced my finger right down to the bare knuckle. It had that small bend where the edge was sharp & jagged. Because we couldn't afford to go to the doctor or hospital, I just bandaged it and put a Popsicle stick to hold my finger from bending until it healed. Still have a scar. Please wear gloves. Did you have a pattern for that end cap or was that your own super intelligence that figured that out? Way cool Mike.
Ouch!! That sheet metal can really do some harm. I just measured and drew the pattern. Thankfully sheet metal has a little bit of flex to help things fit.

Thank you Jennifer! I hope that we can inspire the next generation of restorers.

The spelling is perfect! Judging by the TH-cam metrics, there seems to be less interest in this project than there once was.
Even if I never see that ductwork again, I'll always know that it was put together properly. Have a great weekend! 🥰🥰
Lol! 💖

Lol! We get down and dirty so you don't have to. :-)
Good job Mike.👍👍
Turned out beautiful. It's called "pride of ownership."
Now it's time to hide it away where it will never be seen...
Always Pride in your work, excellent 😊
Thank you so much 😀
Excellent work. Really enjoying this all coming together.
Glad you enjoy it! There's a lot more coming.

Jan, it's very sharp and I've tangled with it already. It's hard to work with gloves on though so I'll be real careful.
You always do a great job with anything that you attempt. Hopefully you can finally get the air conditioning on before it gets too hot. Great job 😊😊
Thank you! It's been mercifully cool this year, but we're working hard to get things hooked back up.

Great job! ❤👍
Thank you! 😄
Mike! You always amaze me! Perfectionist in all you do!! Awesome job! And I can’t wait for the installation! ❤
Thank you! In the next episode, we're filming under the house in the creepy crawlspace. 💖
@@1834RestorationHouse Oh lord!! 😬😖
You've done a beautiful job, and YOU know it's under there!
Yes! At least our part will be good.
Amazing!!!!
Nice job!
O so nice to see you both!
Great to see you too!

Lol! You won't be disappointed!
You do great work!
Thank you!
How are the victorian planters doing , love to see them blooming , nice job.
They are doing great! we'll try to get some shots.
Thanks
Thanks for watching!
It looks almost professional.
You should sign and date them.
Amazing work!
Metal snips are hard to work with. my fingers get so beat up when I have to use them
It's a great workout for the forearms! :-)
How about some indoor projects?
Does the crawlspace count? :-)
The ducts are huge! I wonder how much money you saved fabricating them yourself?
We saved a lot, especially on the custom parts.
Wow I am not a Havc person either but this was interesting.
Thanks for watching!
