Yes it is a lot of work, if I was making just one I would as you said bend it with pliers but if I am making ten of the same lure then that’s when a jig really starts to save time. Also I am not that good at freehand wire bending. Thanks Paul Adams
love all you videos so much. My dad is a Civil Engineer and have so much imagination when it comes to making nick nacks. U minded me of how his brain thinks. Great workmanship. the nail method reminds me of how they used nails to bend re-bar for prepping foundations and forms in the Philippines. Once again thanks!!!!
i meant the concept of how u were bending the wires to set it up for the fishing lures reminded me of how his workers and he would make forms for the buildings using big nails and bending the re-bar with big pipes. It was the same kind of constant forming to get the proper mold for concrete pouring in the Philippines and we've done it here in Cali as well.
when i worked in materials sales i must of sold tons of the stuff,I remember faxing off bent bar schedules to suppliers and never imagined how they were made. Thanks
Wow I am very impressed. Glad to see a video like this since I don't own a lathe and would like to make some fishing lures to. Subscribed :) and waiting for part 2.
Its better to buy bulk coiled wire as it lasts forever, its cheaper, you can play around and make bigger lures, there is less waste when you make smaller lures, and also you can make fishing booms for sea fishing or trolling for pike. I use hard stainless steel medical wire, 0.9mm, I use European supplier as I stay in UK, but I can recall looking up American suppliers and their sites and seeing coiled wire for lure making, its worth checking. Nice plugs btw ;)
Hi Paul really liked the lure building videos, started to get the parts together having trouble finding the wire can you point me in the right direction please Thanks Graham

Thanks a lot for the quick response. I'm in the building process right now and the only items left were the hooks. I'm also thinking up-scaling to 1:1.5 of this very design to use some 1/0 size treble hooks I already have. I'll let you know my outcomes on the test field.

I mostly like the idea of wrapping it with thread and applying super glue for extra protection, never seen that before, and Ive seen many videos.

great vids, I am going to apply this to other lure making as well. I am wondering why you wrapped thread to close the eyes instead of just soldering?
I suppose that is another alternative i had not really thought about, thanks for the tip and good luck
Can you please make a video how you make the sketches on the computer, and how you downlad that programs that you use?
Thanks, hopefully the next few days for the new vid.
