    Since taking up wooden boat building I've missed so many episodes. This looks like an awesome project. And i could really do with a bite magnet.

    Great great action! I am suprised how such a long and thin lure has such a wide wobble!

    Hello, I am an amateur wood carver. Could you please share the measurements and angle degrees you used for the lure? In this way, I can make and test a lure like in the video. Thanks in advance :)

      I suggest you watch many other videos of making lures. They al.ost always include all the dimensions.

    Would you be kind enough to link those premade bills. And I really enjoy all your videos. I don’t think there is one that I haven’t seen. You’re definitely my go to source of information, if I want to do something new, like chroming baits, or building the tools to do it. Thank you for bringing this community, just an astounding amount of information and technique.

    Wow! Earlier this week I just went back in time and watched your videos on using foil for one of my lures. Very nice lure and video!

    I fish in the area around Ocala and I get some on that pattern. I do the best in the darker waters with jerkbaits that I stained the wood with tie dye and coffee grounds. Yellow with a brown back and dark green with a yellowish belly are the best producers and I get a lot of giant bass on them. Lately I’ve been getting them best on 2-1/4” crankbaits but I won’t stop making my jerkbaits so I’ll be ready when the fish are😊 I think you should make a clear jerkbait with the polycarbonate layers and have a bit of foil inside and do a translucent honey yellow with a brown back. I think that would be the ultimate weapon for Florida bass.

      give it a shot...it might be killer.

    • @letemgofishing

      @@EngineeredAngler I was saying you should make one. I’ll consider making one when I come up with a cheaper material source unless I happen upon a polycarbonate window somewhere. You could prob get a good video doing one similar to the liquid deal but have a wobbly piece of foil on springs like a shimano flash boost. I know you can pull that one off.

    Been watching your channel for a couple of months now and I have really enjoyed your content. You clearly have mastered the principles of weight distribution and body sculpting with jerkbaits to have it perform that well. Take it from a guy who isn't quite there yet. Lol. Great video.

    I have watched you airbrush straight from the bottle many times. Do thin your paints first? I cannot get any of my air brushes to spray paint straight from the bottle unless I thin it first. What air pressure do you use to spray? I love your videos been watching for two years and have learned a lot about lure making. Thanks.

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  ปีที่แล้ว

      So far every paint I have used, except Createx, sprays well straight out of the bottle. I thin the Createx paint 50% with Createx paint thinner.

    Nice Video! I just discovered your channel a day ago when watching the video about Lithium batteries. I have watched several of your lure building videos & it is quite interesting. I was wondering if you would have any idea's on how to repair the Rapala ScatterRap Minnow type lures? It has a round curved lip & I can't find any lips anywhere to replace them with. The Rapala ScatterRap minnow has a problem with the lip coming out of the lure. I thought you might have some idea's on how to fashion a replacement lip. Also I wonder if anything can be done to the new lure to re-enforce it somehow so that the lip wouldn't come out in the first place? Thank you!!!

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm pretty sure that concave lip is integral to the plastic body. That means it would be very difficult to replace it with anything. I think the only real course is to go out and buy a few more. Good luckI

    • @kyleigh2643
      @kyleigh2643 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's the problem it has a balsa body & the lip is just inserted into it & falls out easily. It has happened to me about 4 or 5 times already. I wonder if I could drill a small hole through the top of it & put some kind of pin into it?

    can you show us how to make our own center pin twist locks? I was thinking how great it would be to have a twist lock forming die for a Twist Tech type wire former. Sounds like simple design patent.

    Hey Franco where did you get that bib? This was a really well done video by the way. I've seen you do the top slot before but I didn't understand the why. Your explanation was perfect. I also liked that you explained how the UV-resin cures from light transferring up through the bib. I notice you use UV resin a lot instead of super glue and after I thought about it I realize I'm always frustrated by the friggin super glue running or spider webbing and getting all over the place including my fingers. Seems the UV is a lot easier to control.

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  ปีที่แล้ว

      AbsolutelyI use the the UV resin as glue, filler, and clearcoat. Super glue is a great tool but can be messy. Thank you for the comment.

      Yes, it only hardens when exposed to UV light.

    You can actually get away with using screw eyes in balsa baits. Especially if you’re making them for bass but I’ve even caught decent pike on balsa baits without a wire harness and never had an issue

    • @EngineeredAngler
      @EngineeredAngler  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah...I overstated that a bit. Small freshwater baits do just fine if glued in.
