The older 2019-2020 model looked so much cooler. The white plastics with orange/white frame and orange wheels just look awesome but I am a bit biased because I own one :D
My wife rides a Duke 390 2022 and I a Duke 890R 2023 , we do day trips of +- 500Km , and about the seats : we quickly bought the KTM ergo seats and they are great !
Just had my 11000 miles, 2020 model written off after a crash when a car pulled out. Just ordered a new one, perfect commuter for mix of motorway and busy London streets.
@@misterchuck6866 The rear shock failed quite early on but was replaced free under warranty, other than that it was faultless. Replacement has done 9000+ and if anything is even better.
Got a 2021 with black wheels, looks great. Lots of fun to ride. My main issue is the seat, its too firm. Got a new seat on order, should make a world of difference.
I just picked up my 22 duke 390 first ride leaving the dealership it started raining haha it was going to happen eventually. Very nice ride coming from the grom so that's no saying much but it's been fun riding
I’m looking to get 2023 now. I could swing a bargain I believe. The 2024 is all revamped. I have had a triumph speed triple, a triumph Daytona 675r and loved those. I currently have a 2008 ktm 990 duke. I was in between bikes and I picked it up used. I love the ktm torque, a ktm will be my next new bike. The 790 and 890 dukes are great and a true do it all bike. More power then I will use at 58 years old. I had a bad experience buying the 990 used and have had to put money into it. So I’m going to stay new and get the 2 year warranty. My thoughts are to have enough power and light weight for the twisties and be able to do the freeway at 65-75mph, 80 mph to maybe pass some one. And not much freeway riding at all. Can I ride the freeway at 70mph easy. I’m intrigued by this 390. Can it do the twisties 60-65 mph or is it at its limit, meaning straining. I don’t have the skill to do the twisties at 65mph unless I’m in a straight stretch between cures anyway. I was also looking at the 390 duke as a bike I could improve my skills. There are a lot of classes to take where the instructors actually ride bikes like these. These guys on TH-cam and such. It as I talked about the past bikes I had. I don’t want to get something that can’t comfortably do up to 80mph even if it’s just for a minute or so. I don’t need do 100mph, it’s a ticket and my wife will shut me down!
I'm small and light and my duke 390 2022 fits perfect for me. Easily at 120km/h :) But also easy to overtake with 140km/h. But definitely not for bigger/heavier persons.
Amazing video! Keep it up. But does the engine ever stall or not start from first try or become hot because those type of problem happen on earlier versions? Thanks!
You are tall at 190 cm. I am 166 cm and wonder it has a tall seat (31"?) and tall centre of gravity. Considering the low weight of 150 kg, it should be good for me at 66 kg. Worth a test ride. Great on the curves and definitely peppy for its size.
Great video, interesting to hear your opinion on the 390 based on your 690 experiences. Just received my 2022 390 few days ago, I really enjoy it. I purchased it as a play bike to ride around the country side near my home. My opinion you get a lot of bang for your buck, mine was $68k USD. -Brad

KTM 390 Duke is a really great bike! I've been riding it for almost a year and I'm very happy with it.
Great! It is a really great bike you got there
Will it be a good commuter bike ?
@@Rickybobby190 it is! but the heat from the fan kicking in every red light can be uncomfortable, but overall it’s a great bike for commuting!
what year model do you ride? planning on getting the 2022 bs6 model hopefully the heat on the legs is reduced.
@@rhitishjeer1478 2019 (I suppose it’s BS4?) the heat is definitely there, but only in traffic
390 duke is more than enough for every day commute and she is super fun to ride at corners...
Agreed!
What about the highway? when people are driving 80mph and sometimes you need to pass
@@alexv5581 I never have a problem. Have hit 3 digits on mine on more than one occasion.
@@alexv5581it can do 105 easy
do you think it would corner sharper than a 790/890 due to lighter weight and shorter chasis?

Sat on one today... it has adjustable levers, but they should have made it so the levers would adjust A LOT closer to the bar to fit female riders.
Good point. Something I would not notice myself but thanks for flagging it for the community 👌👌

Nice video! As for my height of 1.74 m the bike is ideal for daily commuting and city riding with a huge smile on your face ;)

Not in my testing (1 week in summer)
Can you tell me gloves you wearing? Are they good?
Thank you for the outstanding real world review of this bike
Glad you enjoyed it!
I’m looking at a 2022 for 4700$ with only 2000 miles on it . I wonder why the person brought it back but it’s a good deal for me .
very nice review, how about its fan noise? Was it quiet than before?
you got additional subscriber here. 👍🏽
Haha thanks man! Fan noise was not too noticeable. Definite improvement over my 690
Thank you so much
It actually goes 165 KMPH + and my guess is it was windy
No quickshifter?
It does have a quickshifter! Forgot to make that clear.
It also works great.

How is the Heat from the bike?
I had no issues with it even in dense city traffic. The fan will turn on pretty quickly though to cool down the bike.

Whats the price in us
I would have to check myself. KTM has official prices on their website but I would check your local dealers cause those are usually cheaper.
