    Great job, Ozzie!
    I love your advice to "be patient."
    I have used a mask for 11 years and it took a month to come up with a mask that worked for me.
    I am 86 and am convinced that my CPAP has allowed me to be active and healthy at this age.
    It is worth all the time to get used to CPAP!

      Yes, it may take a moment as stated to find the right mask. But definetely worth the time. So happy to hear your doing great!!

    I have the RestMed 20F with the foam lining, so far it is the best mask I have had since starting a cpap. The problem I had with the ones with nasal pillows and the connection is at top instead of on face is that it is too small for my big head, could not squeeze my head through the base even when opened up fully, I just have the 10 foot hose that helps give more room for those of us who toss and turn while sleeping.

      That's Great!! Glad you found a mask. That is the part where a lot of patient's give up unfortunately.

    I have an F20. The cheap plastic clips broke after a week. So, I made new ones out of aluminum and now the mask is amazing.

    • @Sleeplayground
      @Sleeplayground  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have rarely heard of that happening, I am sorry to hear. May I ask how long you have had the mask? and what clips are you referring to?

    • @llspragulus
      @llspragulus ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Sleeplayground The plastic-magnetic clips on the chin of the mask. The part where the headgear feeds through, ha6 broken on my three masks. Each mask was bought at different times. So, it's definitely a problem and not a single batch issue. I'm very surprised you haven't heard that's an issue.

    Thank you for mentioning the magnetic clips, which I need to stear clear of. I have been using the Rspironics Quattro FX for many years and it works well. I hope they don't discontinue it, since it fits so well and uses clips to close and has no magnets.

    Had a big problem with my Vitera swivel hose fitting: the air flow on mine is greatly reduced and woke me up if the hose swings to the side. It's ok only if it's straight to the front and extended outward. This is very distressing. I had to glue it in place with rubber cement so I can breathe now. ARGHH! Also, sometimes the silicone flap gets stuck and blocks my exhale. They for sure need to work out the bugs on this one. I'm now using a ResMed N30 and also ordered a DreamWear Full face bundle
    to try.

I've only been into CPAP since 4/14, but just now discovering it takes time and total dedication to therapy and a strong drive to problem solve to not get disgusted and give up. R.G please make F30 .andF30i without magnets a lot of us have pacemakers

    • @Sleeplayground
      @Sleeplayground  ปีที่แล้ว

      Our instructions are found in the user guides for each mask. Our instructions generally provide that for patients who have active or medical implants 1, such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, magnetic cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) shunt valve or cochlear implants, it is recommended that the headgear and frame be kept at least 2 inches (50 mm) away from any active medical implants to avoid possible effects from localized magnetic fields. ResMed masks are safe to use when you follow ResMed's instructions for use, recent guidance from the Food and Drug Administration, and any available information provided by your doctor, equipment provider, or the manufacturers of other devices you may use. 2
      In response to changes in technologies and recent post market information, some global regulators are revising recommendations around the use of magnets with some implantable devices. For example, on September 6, 2022, the U.S. FDA recommended that users (and their bed partners) keep CPAP masks or other items that have magnets “at least 6 inches [15.24 cm] away from metallic medical implants, metallic objects in the body, or medical devices that can be impacted by the magnetic fields.”

    Every single mask I've tried has an issue thus far. The ResMed AirFit P30i, the ResMed AirFit N30i and the Phillips Dreamwear Under the Nose Nasal all leak. I've tried the Bleep Dreamport which doesn't leak but requires adhesives that are one time use which I'd like to avoid.
