      I dont mean disrespect but do these traditional muay thai teachers not teach footwork? I notice in all of this teachers videos its pretty much just stand right in front of him and kick the hell out of the pads with no circling, foot work,angles or anything that boxing teaches.

      @AAquese 3 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      @@johnnytorres277 you can go watch some Muay Thai fights and decide they have different footwork and kicks than boxing and kickboxing and lil different from MMA Cuz they got watch out for Knees, Flying Knees, Elbows, Flying Elbows, And the clinch is prob the most impressive

    • @jrcuartz1829
      @jrcuartz1829 3 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      he has a lot of stored carbohydrates plus he has less energy hungry slow twitch muscles. main reason why less masculine fighters who train hard have slightly longer stamina that those with much pronounced biceps.

    5:34 You can tell Gae probably don't like this guy telling him that he's killing his students. Gae made it very clear that in training you can rest, but if you are in real fight once you are tired you are done for. Your opponent will never give you the opportunity to take a break. He wants his students to have enough power while preserving stamina for long fights.

      I don't think trainer Gae really understands much English. He's probably annoyed because the guy isn't training but he's just recording the entire time and shouting random stupid shit. He's coming off as a very annoying and unlikable TH-camr with big tiktoker vibes.

      After the wrestling warmup in my gym when I was new, I remember laying flat on the ground because it was the most intense warmup I had ever done in my life. My coach comes up to me and tells me to get it together because if I showed any sign of tiredness or exhaustion in competition or a real fight, the other guy will not have any mercy, and will go for the kill.

    This type of old school training style is invaluable and beneficial to the fighter being trained. The trainer is training your mind, body and soul. Training the fighter to always keep finding his/her center. The trainer is training the fighter's body to get stronger through repetition and physical exhaustion. He is training the fighter's mind to push his/her body pass it's physical limits and to keep the fighter's mind clear and focused. Being hit and not being able to hit back helps train the fighter's mind to keep calm, control emotion and not get angry. In the end he has trained the fighter's soul to be pure, humble and enlightened. Providing the fighter with nourishment for the soul and to be appreciative for what the fighter has learned and accomplished in the fighter's journey of becoming a well rounded balanced complete fighter and person in life.
