    Pro tip for getting coordinates off of the map - while holding left ALT and left clicking on any position on the map will create a popup window with the coordinates in all formats and altitude
    this is also advantageous as it will remain present in the F1 view

      Indeed! A nice quality-of-life feature they finally added. Unfortunately it wasn't available at the time this video was made! :D

    Ideal profile for tossing GBUs to an area lased by a buddy or jtac! i use it all the time, so useful and exciting

    Nicely done! two things for me to try when I have a bit of spare time to fly the Mirage 2000C: nav fix + bomb toss - nicely combined and explained in your lesson. 👍 P.S. Although you don't sound like an uneducated barbarian, the comment in your description to explain why you use the English cockpit gave me a chuckle! 😆

      Thank you! It requires a little bit of set up but it can be very effective. Watch the video on A2G radar also as there are other considerations when doing this kind of attack.
      Did German at school, not French, so it's a bit rusty!

      @@reiver1-1 No worries for the languages. I'm also a bit more used to flying in English, but French is my first language so no problem in the Mirage 2000C or F1. However, despite learning a bit of Russian in university, if I fly the MiG-21 or my 3 Russian helicopters in DCS, I use the English cockpit to reduce frustration and increase efficiency! 😉

      @@reiver1-1 So I tried the whole thing, calculating the math and all, made a mission for it in the Nevada map, and went for it. My first attempt didn't quite work because I had missed a step. Watching your video again I spotted what I had missed. On my second attempt, the NAV fix worked, I lined up the target, did the toss. The SAMP-250 bombs landed slightly long, which reminded me why I never use those lob toss modes, 😅but it was close enough that some trucks on my target caught fire and exploded, so I'll say lesson successful, thank you Reiver 1-1. 👍 I watched your A2G radar video on the Atlantic map. In that one you tossed a laser-guided bomb, which makes more sense as far as accuracy is concerned. This may be something I could try later.

    The PERFECT tutorial, you are good at teaching. One question, I see that you are seeing in third person your aircraft (like when you released your bombs), how did you do that? Mine when I go into replay mode only allows me the F1 first person view but pressing F2 doesn’t do anything

      Thank you, I'm glad you like them and find them useful. I don't think I have that problem when playing back the tracks?

    Good tutorial, but if I may, take into account IP to target range.
    Your INS is more or less drifting at 1Nm/h, that's 30m/mn.
    Your IP was roughly 52km of the target, at 540Nm/ 9Nm/mn this is about 90m of drift.
    So if you can, choose a point within 10Nm, you will pull uo around 5Nm to 4Nm of the target with better accuracy.😉

    • @reiver1-1
      @reiver1-1  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Indeed. I work off 0.7 Nm/h, which works out at about 60 metres of drift. Given the size of the target, I was happy with this.
      In truth, the IP was chosen so I had plenty of time to talk over the ingress 🤣

    Very good video. Like the others before it. Is there any chance you will make the mission available for download? It's good to follow and practice.

    Is your z offset calculation right? I would rather do 47816 - 6869 = 40 947 E

    • @reiver1-1
      @reiver1-1  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, there was a slight error in the labels. The Z coordinate of the target was positive and I forgot to remove the minus symbol from the label - if you look closely in the bottom left of the screen during the calculation, you'll see it! 😀👍

      @@reiver1-1 Jesus that was a fast reply! Thanks again for your videos, the quality of the explanations and humour!
