    In my first two months of carnivore, I had trouble with stomach indigestion. I had to eat my last meal early in the day and follow it up with a cocktail of apple cider vinegar and lemon juice (a tsp each) in hot water (it’s surprisingly tasty). I’m starting my third month, and it seems my stomach is beginning to adjust. I’m able to eat later with no indigestion. Also stools were loose during that first two months. Those are firming up and becoming more regular. My point is that our smart bodies will adjust over time. Be encouraged!

      @@zzzjon Yes it’s been a while. I’ve adopted carnivore as my primary diet but I’ve gone off the rails a few times. When I do, my body pains come back, including arthritis, which is no fun. When I stick to meat I have no indigestion even when I use spices. The indigestion comes primarily from grains. I haven’t given up my wine or coffee. I’d no doubt feel even better if I did. Carnivore is definitely the way to go for me. ❤️

    My magic combo was HCL+pepsin and milk thistle! I knew high fat was the best for my mood, energy and alertness so I tried a bunch of different things but it turns out I had low stomach acid and the HCL did the trick WITH PEPSIN. The loose stools were fixed with milk thistle, which supports bile acid malabsorption 👍🏻 I’m at the point I can even eat rendered fat!

    Too much protein without fat and I get crazy tired immediately after eating. My teen daughter tried a chicken breast recipe and was excited for me to try her cooking...I should have added some butter because I felt sooo tired just minutes after eating. Thankfully I was able to take a nap. If I had realized, I would have immediately eaten some fat just on its own. If I had been about to go to a job or something, I would have been so moody without the needed fat.

    On a note about HCL. When consuming a meal as well as 10 minutes prior and up to 30 minutes after the meal/snack, you should avoid consuming any alkaline beverages. I would personally not consuming any beverage during this period. Unless you're having trouble getting the food down. By avoiding alkaline beverages you'll retain more hcl to digest what your eating. Preventing the food from fermenting and causing heartburn, gas, etc.

    Started Keto 18 months ago and have overcame T2 Diabetes, hypertension, off 9 meds etc....6 months ago I switched from a nutritional Keto diet to a Paleo Keto per Dr. Zsofia Clemens of Paleo Medicina. It is a high fat to proteins ratio of 2:1. This approach has shown to be very beneficial in the healing of the intestinal tract, specifically targeting intestinal permeability (leaky gut). I figured if I had any permeability now is the time to fix it. I think most folks on the SAD diet for decades have some intestinal disfunction. Heal the gut and heal the body. I have been doing this with 23/1 eating window. Have maintained optimal weight with high energy. Having a GKI range between 2-3. This was suppose to be a 6 month experiment but I like it, so I shall continue until I do not.

      @@NutritionwithJudy Yes agree on the caloric restrictions. I do not count calories. During this PKD I stopped all supplements and spices. Eat till I am satiated. I made my own % carb, protein and fat calculator using mostly info from Nutrita. I have been recording all food weights and macros, blood pressures, glucose, BHB twice per day since December 2018 as well as sleep via the Oura Ring, only because I like it, I'm a data junkie. 62 years old, metabolically 55. 133 lbs.. and eat between 700 to 800 grams per day with 90-120g being protein. Hi, Judy. I had eschemic bowel syndrome. 85% of my small intestines were removed and 5% of my colon. I've had diarrhea since 2013. I started the carnivore diet 6 weeks ago and I feel so much better. But I can't eat much because I also had gastric bypass in 05 so I can't eat much. But I cook with butter and make butter bites, I eat ribeyes for dinner. Lunch I have eggs and bacon. But I still have diarrhea. I admit I don't go to the restroom as often as I use to, but I still feel tired. I don't know where to look for help I've ask so many professionals of the carnivore diet and they never answer my question. Hopefully you can tell me what to do. Thank you so much. ~ Rosie

I've lost 47kg since having my son, then 7kg last month during Ramadan, then I've lost a few on carnivore. Let's see, I have another 8kg to lose before hitting my GW 50kg.

I had to add carbs after being strict carnivore for the palpitations and it has helped. I also added dairy But This swelling is really concerning me. My blood panel showed elevated ferritin, elevated cholesterol, morning glucose 95 and 5.3 A1c (all of these numbers have gone up since carnivore) I think I am eating too much protein and possibly too much dairy but if I lower my consumption of either I can’t get enough calories for the day and I loose weight. I really want to start the carnivore diet because of all the health benefits that many doctors like you, Dr. Ken Berry and many others are telling us. My mom has gerds as well and she told me about integrative similase supplements to take before a meal with protein. Any thoughts on this? Is it safe for me to go carnivore. Also, if food doesn't go down I take a sip of water which helps immediately. The acid reflux only appears if I eat before bedtime or drink to much coffee. The ketovore diet has helped immensley tho.

    How we get 1 pound of protein/meat (minimum to eat) for 140 pound person?
    0.8gr protein (min.amount per pound weight) multiplied by 140 pound (weighing person) to get 104gr protein required.
    Then divide 104gr by 7 to get 15 oz, which is 1 pound protein/meat. How?? How 104gr protein turns to 15 oz (which is around 450gr=1 pound) protein? Where magic number 7 comes from? Any explanations will be appreciated.

    • @dietrehab
      @dietrehab ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure where the 7 comes from, but it is Because grams of meat do not equal grams of protein. For example 100grams of lean steak can have somewhere around 25grams of protein. The rest is water and other components. Just find a macro calculator online and see different foods ( is not going to be exact, but very close). Good luck

    I tried high fat (80/20) and my hands started drying up like crazy when I have never had that problem in my life... I was getting bleeding cuts out of nowhere... I didn't change my foods, I just ate more (basically all) of the leftover fat after cooking the meat, and cutting down to 1 lb meat/day
    Once I went back to what I had been doing (75/25 and 1.5-2 lb meat/day) it went away

    Thanks for the video! I’m about 2 months into the carnivore diet. Aside from butter, what are some other fats I can add to the diet? I eat lots of protein and I eat the whole steak, fat and all. Is that good enough?

    What about our fat macro? I do a 0:25:75 carbs, protein, fat. This info is not complete. Please respond with a fat baseline, too.

      Nutrition with Judy thank you! Please mention that sometime in a video. When I started tracking, I found my macros were reversed, much more protein than fat. I feel so much better energy-wise, since I started monitoring and making the effort to eat sufficient fat. I reverted to CarbManager from my keto days for this. Husband does, too. Thank you for your work in support of the carnivore diet.

    GROAN, despite searching all over NO where am I able to see accurate ratios of protein to fats. I need to determine if I am eating enough fats due to cortisol rising after meals! Caloric counts are skewed by mainstream opinions on what is best. Carnivores apparently need 80% fats...is that like 8 Tablespoons for every 3.5 grm protein? Tell me, we all likely need to know. This is agony having been on Carnivore for 3 yrs now but wobbling off with cravings & pleasure trips, Show us the amount in Tablespoons that you put on you 3.5-4 ounce burger or whatever you do best on. At least then one can figure it out for ourselves.

      I had my gallbladder removed 13 years ago. I'm amazed myself since I've done keto then to Carnivore maybe 95% only ( I cant give up my Macadamia nuts & Pistachios just a nice small portion😀) So far I did not experience any discomfort when I transition to more protein/fats meals. Even my acid reflux is gone!! I also add 1TBS of ACV with some spices & salt in my meals for the taste. Even without ACV no discomfort at all. Only that happens in my observation when sometimes I got tempted picking Carb & sugar!!! Maybe we're not all the same, so far I feel great @ 67.

    I get sooo tired after I eat pretty much anything except for when I consume raw eggs in full fat coconut milk.
    I thought it was just carbs making me so tired but now that I’m trying full carnivore, the meat/fat meals also make me so tired. It’s so frustrating!

    • @tallcedars2310
      @tallcedars2310 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It was likely detoxing that caused the fatigue, how are you doing now?

      @@tallcedars2310 actually it seems I am also in another Lyme/bartonella flare. Just ordered a comprehensive tick borne disease panel from Igenix, results in 10 days. Been dealing with tick diseases for many years sadly.
      As long as I don’t eat too much meat at one time then I don’t get tired. If I add seasoning or sauces then I often get very sleepy with fast pounding heart so I stick to just salt & butter with the meat and do fine.
      I get pounding heart if the canned coconut milk has added guar gum so I order stuff online from Vietnam that is just coconut & water. The raw eggs & coconut milk with added redmonds salt is what makes me feel the best, my gut is happy & I get energy from that. I’ve been taking 8-10 raw farm fresh eggs nearly every day. Some days only 4 eggs. Cooked eggs make me a little sleepy and my gut can’t handle much of that.

      @@AllThingsConsidered333 Sorry to hear you are dealing with tick borne illness. I was tested for it due to extreme fatigue. Was relieved the results were negative. Then I learned testing was not conclusive and I still might have it...
      Do you have your gall bladder? I had to have mine out for reasons still unknown since surgeon would not tell me why. It was after a car accident and I did have seatbelt injuries, so I guess it was torn or something. I have started taking ox bile salts to help me digest the fats that, as you know, are so important.
      I used to get tired after eating before carnivore, and once in awhile still do. One thing that Dr. Chaffee mentions for this is that one may not be eating enough. I am trying 2 meals a day, it seems to be helping. I drink 4-8 eggs a day in milk also.
      One more thing I am trying is a parasite cleanse. My apologies if this is gross, but I have read that parasites can cause fatigue, so I'm trying it. I won't go into details but if you do a search, it might be worthwhile.
      On the carnivore diet my energy has improved but not as fast as young peoples. I have decades of carbohydrate damage to deal with, and a car accident didn't help. But I finally feel like doing something other than sitting around, it's great. Have suffered 3 decades with low energy and it's nice to finally live a little.
      It's great we have found the carnivore diet has helped but we both have a ways to go before we get the energy we want. All we can do is keeping trying!
