Mind-Body: I started carnivore over 3 years ago now, and within 3 weeks, my outlook on life completely changed, just from the diet. I went into carnivore kind of unsure. I was hopeful that it would help a little, but it ended up helping a LOT. It changed my life. Within 3 weeks, my severe depression vanished, so my view of life changed naturally, because of the diet. Even my taste in music changed and my clothing style changed because my view of life changed, plus I wasn't bloated anymore.
It wasn't enough for me on its own. I ate carnivore for 6 months in 2017 or so, and I was very committed. It was the best I ever felt. My energy was even, I became leaner, I stopped having GERD, my vision was better, I started seeing a dentist, and I took other steps to start taking care of my body. But I still had a host of psychological issues that never really got much better, likely because diet was a contributing but not primary factor. I still have eaten very meat heavy since then (and pretty well did before), but I have yet to fully commit in that way, despite some slow, heavy effort with therapy for my mental health. I expect one day I will be able to, but for right now, I accept that I have other work to do right now, and I can't change everything at once. That said, I'm very glad that diet alone is life-changing for so many people. Stories like that help keep me hopeful.
thats so interesting that your clothes changed!! I've noticed that I wear easy/baggy clothes since becoming very depressed and interested to see how things shift. I am entering week three but have lyme and mold so not sure how long things will take for me but i'm extremely committed
Judy, this is a thorough and wonderful summary of a wellness journey. Because of you I am now on the Shoemaker Protocol for CIRS. When you first spoke of CIRS I felt upset because I wholly believed a clean carnivore diet and wellness mindset would heal my body. I was wishing at that time that you would not be going off on tributaries away from the mainstay of clean carnivore and strategies for a wellness mindset. Both are foundational, but as you well note, may not be the full set of steps needed for perfect health. I wanted perfect health, yes even in my 60's! I did not want to hear about more causes--but time is a powerful teacher and after enough time I knew I had to go back and listen to your CIRS series (I had only listened to one talk). My eyes and ears were opened now and I could hear the information and knew in my gut that this was me. Thank you for bringing the CIRS information to the forefront for those of us who did not fully heal on a carnivore diet combined with mind-body practices. You are a true gift in the healing community. Thank you Judy.
I know full well I rock the boat or status quo. I really wish I didn’t but I’d be betraying all our clients I see that hurt from the lack of info out there. So while it makes me less likeable, I share my best to give root-cause solutions even if it’s not an easy answer. Thank you for sharing your journey and I hope you continue to heal. ❤️🩹♥️
There is more to great health than diet all though critical. As a mineral technician I have studied minerals as it relates to health for 25yrs. Through a specialized hair mineral profile the details show the mineral imbalances in the tissues not the blood. When I started I had A-fib of the heart and after about a year the condition completely reversed. I was so blessed to have found this protocol. I am affiliated with Analytical Research labs in Phoenix AZ. It changed my life along with carnivore diet. I like Judy and her approach.
Could you please let me know if you get this message. My doc tried to diagnose me with AFIB but I know it’s my electrolytes I would like to talk to you.
I recently discovered that adding Redmond Relyte to my water daily has a dramatic improvement on my sleep quality. I track my sleep with an Oura ring and all my metrics were pretty poor from time to fall asleep, staying asleep, resting heart rate, and HRV. Added the Redmon Relyte to my water, 1 scoop per 1 liter of water and drinking 2-3 per day based on activities, and within a day my sleep metric all improved dramatically, going from poor to great according to my Oura ring tracker. No other changes than that. I even tested to see if I would still sleep if I strength trained in the evening instead of morning, and I still slept great this way. So, for me at least, low carb/carnivore requires added electrolytes in a fairly high quantity.
Love this video! I have went back and forth several times to carbs to cover up symptoms only to be reminded of why I became carnivore. Now I can focus on the real issues. God bless you Judy and thank you.
This was EXACTLY what I needed !! 37yrs as a nutrition consultant, I’ve healed hundreds…but 6+ yrs of hubby and I on carnivore and we still feel fatigued, have gut issues and brain fog. We eat VERY clean, our water is supreme, we’ve tested our home for molds and EMFs….SOMETHING else is going on 🤦♀️🤦♀️
Are you familiar with vitamin B1 repletion protocols, as taught by Elliot Overton? Obviously I have no way of knowing exact causes for you, but when you say brainfog, fatigue and gut issues, that do not resolve from carnivore etc, that could indicate thiamine deficiency, even if subclinical. Either that, or perhaps iron or copper overload.
I have been on Carnivore for 70 days and the only downside is I cannot balance my minerals. So many report no problem with minerals on carnivore and don't have to worry about it. All the advice I've seen so far is less water, more water, less salt, more salt, take supplements don't take supplements. None of it working. I want to stick with it but am also tempted to add some carbs back in. Is there another way or another issue that could be causing it? What are the natural ways of treating ADH issues? Does a lot of sitting and little exercise make it worse? What if you don't have symptoms like excessive thirst or running to the bathroom a lot? ADH testing in New Zealand is also part of a wider CIRS test and is very expensive as it needs to go overseas for testing. Also requires an initial consultation before they will agree to do it. Thanks Judy for bringing this up as no one else has 😀
I’m sensitive to magnesium, and this was made more so- I like LMNT but can’t take much of it because of the magnesium. I’m planning to make my own with the chelated version. Took my a while to figure out it was the LMNT causing my problem because I was feeling very good otherwise on it. You might try ascorbic acid- just a little. Some people have too much bile, and this will counteract it.
I take high blood pressure meds. I think that is why I get cramps and have an imbalance. I bought some potassium supplements that I carry around with me. I will take one when I get a (legs & feet) cramp. Also, I carry the electrolyte drops in my purse. I put about 10 drops in my water bottle and it makes me feel better. I am going to keep going because some family members hadn’t seen me in a couple weeks, and they said that I lost a lot of weight. I told them I only lost 12 pounds, but I lost a lot of inches. It’s worth keeping going to me. When I get to my goal, I will start adding a piece of fruit and a little vegetables.
While that is a problem, I don't believe that's the problem of our electrolytes being imbalanced. Our sea salt is also from the sea. But agree, overall, our world is becoming more toxic.
Best in mind in London where I’m from pollution ended peoples lives in their 50s And more rural communities dies early with industrialisation like coal etc etc Can’t believe how easy these times are lol
On a carnivore diet, just stop eating added sodium/salt and you will stop losing potassium in the urine. Some youtubers say we need to eat avocado, lol. No! Meat already has potassium in abundance and a bit of sodium in the exact gradient level that we need.
Could you address Thiamine deficiency on carnivore? I had terrible oxalate dumping and then an apparent thiamine deficiency. Carnivore helped me so much for other symptoms but then extreme fatigue set in. Supplementing with B1 and feeling much better.
I had an interview with Eliot Overton a long time ago but we talked about it. B1 helps give us energy, and the only food in the carnivore space that has a lot of B1 is pork (which is why I'm a huge advocate of eating the rainbow of meats and not just beef over time or as you can handle other meats). Benfotiamine version of B1 can give you energy but sometimes there are underlying reasons there is a need for it. One is imbalances in the nervous system, which may even impact ADH. You can always consider the VCS test but if you feel better with B1, then I wouldn't try to fix anything that is not broken.
@@NutritionwithJudyThank you so much! I will go watch it! Yes I am taking that version and I can’t say how much better I am feeling. I don’t hear about it much in the carnivore space and perhaps it might affect more people not seeing the results they seek. Thank you again! Love your channel🩷
Diagnosed with CIRS. Tried low carb and had a hard time with muscle cramps. Weakness and burning muscles. Went back to some fruit. Still have some symptoms but can feel most of them. Not sure what to do. Have no not started csm cause still in mold with no seemingly way out. Winter is coming so I won’t be able to spend as much time outside.

@@NutritionwithJudya lot people get problems with cv, thats because of the diet.Think of Paula she ate to much raw liver!!! That was so dangerous, she got to much vitamin A.
My calves cramp up every morning from between 3am and when i get up around 7-8:00. It's usually mild cramping of my calves, but enough to wake me. This happened when on the SAD diet eating lots of carbs, and still happens now eating low carb. I drink salt water throughout the day using at least 2 teaspoons of pink Himalayan sea salt along with an electrolyte drink (Keto Chow Daily Minerals) which contains potassium and magnesium among other things. I also supplement with magnesium glycinate every day. I cut out all caffeine a month ago as coffee was giving me terrible hamstring cramps. My question is, why would I need to consume so much sodium? I am moderately active daily. But it doesn't seem to matter how much activity I do, or how much I sweat, I always need to drink a lot of salt. And no matter what, it doesn't last the whole night, I always wake up cramping. I'm at the point where I'll need to drink my salt/electrolyte drink at night also. Is there any reason why I would need to be consuming so much sodium? I had my thyroid tested before and everything looked fine.
Ultimately everyone is different, I started OMAD carnivore January 1st and experienced a lot of cramping for several months, I was taking all the electrolyte supplements including electrolyte drink but I think the body was still changing over to fat burning so the electrolytes were fluctuating. Normal, then a month ago I just said enough and stopped all supplements whatever, now I’m slowly bringing back supplements that I’m truly lacking including electrolyte drink, potassium, magnesium and melatonin for better sleep. Everyone needs to experiment and see what works for them. Good luck it’s worth putting in the time to figure it out, youtube can show you the door but you gotta walk through it.
@@asdf1991asdf been OMAD the last 6 years when I was low carb and fasting still got cramps. It usually happens when I’m doing a lot of aerobic activity sweating even when I was still eating the SAD, especially during the summer months. If it is the OMAD I will just have to take electrolytes as I believe the benefit of being in ketosis and driving insulin to baseline is the most important thing in order to preserve metabolic health for the long term.
@@joeberrouard3743 one cup of tea and I’ll have a cappuccino decaf 4 times a week. I did quit all caffeine for a year but didn’t notice much difference.
New subscriber here, this is the first time I have watched your video. This video has a lot to take in, and I think I need to watch it about 3 times. I am in a rural area in the Philippines, and I am retired here from the U.S. with my husband who is Filipino. We have been here 14 years. My husband who is 85 just had a VP Shunt put in because we found out he has NPH and dementia but was misdiagnosed with Parkinsons for several years. I discovered Keto and Carnivore last year. I started with Keto and have been gradually eliminating things. I am 71 and have been in pretty good health and am not overweight. I am hypo-thyroid, in my early teens, and when I went into menopause, but I was ok during my childbearing years. I did have migraines when I started menopause but found out about Magnesium and have taken that ever since then. Other than that I have always been in good health. In the process of trying to eliminate Carbs I have been having a lot of problems with leg cramps at night and extreme thirst and even though I have added salt and sometimes electrolytes to my water and even though I am drinking and even though I am drinking more than 60oz's a day in the night I will wake up because my tongue is too dry and I have to drink also I pee a lot at night. I am under a lot of stress caring for my husband, who is not able to do what we had hoped for, walking and talking.I am learning to eat more fat, I do notice it helps. Thank you for expressing what you said about eating any kind of beef you can, because it is hard to find good beef in the Philippines much less is it grass-fed, just give me the beef, when I can find it. I will rewatch the video cause I had to stop many times to help my husband.
Judy, with regards to electrolyte imbalance. Have you experienced with a salt free carnivore diet? Couldn't there be an imbalance of potassium and sodium? I have heard from several long term carnivores that that is how they feel best and am trying it myself and am surprised that after a short adaptation period I do feel much calmer, sleep better and have more energy.
Hi, do you mean you no longer add salt to meals or water on the Carnivore diet? I am having sleep and fatigue problems on Carnivore after three weeks and while everyone says take electrolytes I am considering the opposite, to stop adding any salt or magnesium or Potassium and just try it eating the meat and fat. How long did it take you to see a positive change?
When adding back carbs & leg cramps go away, how is that a band-aid & how do carbs clear the cramps symptoms (is it simply the extra water in carbs that stop the cramps & not the root cause) ?
My restless leg syndrome - and morning leg cramps - disappeared on carnivore. Opposite to what I expected, considering that I added no electrolytes (except I do like to salt liberally - maybe thats it).
Great video. If I may- I've been Carnivore for 18 months and have been taking Taurine(an amino acid) every day for a long while now as it regulates/modulates electrolytes. Among the many other beneficial things it does. Please research and look into Taurine for electrolyte balancing.
Loved the advice on how to go through the healing process in a practical way. Many people get lost within the internet noise and never reach a good outcome. For me not TLDL but Not Long Enough! 😁
I don't know what is wrong with me. Nearly two years or carnivore (mainly lion diet, I sometimes eat pastured pork and very rarely eat minimal conventional pork) without cheating. I have recovered in every way except that I still get acne and still regularly have loose stools. I passed the CIRS vision test, and on carnivore I don't experience most of the symptom clusters (though I met all of them before carnivore). I do not have a lot of stress, I started exercising 4-5 times a week after about 7 months carni and it didn't have any effect on my digestion or my skin. I was on 30 days of antibiotics in 2020 and 5 days in 2023 (while carnivore). I can't think of any other reason why my digestion might still be messed up. I can't even eat salt without getting diarrhea. I just did a 5 day fast and it did not help at all. I don't know what to do anymore. I will be carnivore for life but I'm tired of these ongoing issues!
take a look at SIFO: www.nutritionwithjudy.com/understanding-sifo-and-how-to-treat-it (if you take antibiotics it allows the fungal to flourish). and then consider a simple binder, you may just need extra help to detox and that may resolve a lot of what you are going through. More on binders here: www.nutritionwithjudy.com/rx-binders-vs-natural-binders-for-cirs. Sounds like you're pretty close to healing. The skin health is very affected by the microbiome health, so I'd start with the gut.
I know I have something more underlying. 2 years mostly clean carnivore and the only time I feel really good is when I go strict Lion but even then sometimes I have bad days. I'm 99% sure it's CIRS. Still haven't done the vision test but I have almost all of the symptom clusters. I can't find a CIRS doctor around me but my primary doctor was very interested in everything I explained about cirs. So I have a couple questions: 1. Can I use activated charcoal to clear mold? And how would I find dosage. 2. Can any doctor prescribe Cholestyramine for CIRS? And how do they find the dosage? 3. Would a low anti-diahrretic hormone make someones GFR go up? Because my doctor was shocked at how high mine was. Thank you for all the information you provide. I'm trying to heal myself and my son who recently got diagnosed with IBD (aka you have inflammation and we don't know why or how to fix it...).
I gave my Dr a packet of information on CIRS and told him I was working with a nutritionist that was certified in the shoemaker protocol but that I needed his help to work together with them ( NWJ) and he asked me what I needed from him and I told him that I needed him to write the prescriptions for the meds he was more than happy to help and I give him all the results of my tests along with the explanations and he is eager to learn and help. I just told him that there are no shoemaker trained providers in my area and that I knew he was certainly smart enough to understand it easily enough and because he is already my personal physician I’d like him to be on board. He was very happy with that so maybe your physician will be glad to cooperate with your shoemaker trained provider. I got Cheryl who works with Judy and she is wonderful!
1. Not entirely but it can clear toxins in general so it's a good add-on. 2. Yes if you are a good persuaded. Not everyone needs to be a CIRS doctor to get you the meds as it's a pretty harmless medication. You can work with our team for every one session or join our CIRS group to ask your dosage and next step questions. 3. eGFR does not affect ADH but it's a good thing to have eGFR above 100. Our markers do shift for kidney function on carnivore but it's because we are eating more meat, it's a normal response. Just make sure to drink sufficient water so you remove the breakdown products of protein and amino acids.
I agree that diet is the number one place to start, years ago my first dietary step was to eliminate refined Sugars and used Stevia in my Coffee and that led me to drinking less Coffee eventually as my system began to regulate better. It may not seem like much of a step but looking back that was huge my stress levels improved continually. My journey started in a terrible state of being a smoker with Hepatitus C for over 30 years before getting the cure with the new drug therapy, my health was radicall transformed in one week after beginning that drug therapy. From that point on my quest has been health optimization and my baseline diet included Quality EPA DHA fish oil, mulitvitamins, and Vitamin D. That all led me to more activity and progress with more and more optimization in my life. So yes, diet is the real starting point and with that and or chronic health disorders put to rest is absolutely the best place to start. One more thing, I think one of the reasons the Carnivore diet is so great is that you lose the fortified commercial foods that are very unhealthy, but then again, who can get enough nutrients without supplementation? I certainly still do not have the know how or the means to do that nor do I think that it might be possible or practical so I wound up taking many many supplements testing one at a time. And I fully agree that for starters elimination in diet is the key to establish baseline health. I think I've tried it all and Carnivore if the best baseline diet to start with for sure with every other change springing off from there. Great video and I am a subscriber now and a fan of yours too. I love the Holistic approach and I think it's the only way towards personal universal great health.
I’m on day 9. Normally I have good energy, but I feel awful. My heart is pounding. I feel pressure in my chest. I have to sit down after very little exertion. I thought it might be electrolytes so I’ve been doing sea salt under my tongue and electrolyte powder in water. I’m worried damage is being done.
I've been a carnivore in Jan 2024. I'm 74. I have had three TIA s since. One in March, one in April and one in June. I'm in the process of getting test done, and until I get results , I know you probably can't comment, but do you have any idea what might be going on?
Thank you for a good summary video. Can you give me a suggestion on the proper electrolyte intake? I have been on the diet for 3 months, but I feel fatigued on most days and want to give up. My protein/fat ratio is 50/50 and I eat enough (200-300 cal surplus). Sodium 2500-3500, potassium 5000, Magnesium 450. Many videos suggest sodium can be up to 5000-7000. Since the potassium/sodium ratio needs to be 2:1, this means I would have to increase potassium to 10,000-14,000. I’m afraid to increase the dosage since this is way beyond the daily recommended Potassium of 4700. Any input is greatly appreciated.
I’ve been finally able to balance my minerals being in ketosis but the histamines are my worst enemy. If I go completely carnivore (which I’ve done before for 6 months), I get a horrible histamine reaction but if I leave some fiber in, it seems to stabilize it a bit better but it seemingly never goes away 100 percent and I have to continue to take Zyrtec and Benadryl intermittently. Doctors just want to put me on allergy shots and cortisone shots. I had a food allergy test (IGE) and had a reaction to every single food that I was tested for except cashews. They also confirmed I have celiac disease. I’m just stuck in this weird place where I can’t deviate from a few foods or I get a reaction and I even sometimes get reactions to the foods that are safe for me. 🤔 I’ve even gone as far as getting meat that’s 100% grass fed and has been frozen right away and never eat leftovers…
I don’t know if this is at all helpful so I apologize in advance but I did hear that Jordan Petersons wife only eats lamb as it’s much lower in histamines
@@NutritionwithJudy Thanks! What is adh testing? I have had horrible issues with electrolyte balance on carnivore...I even had a heart attack (!!) even though I did everything I could with salt and electrolytes. I went from a really high oxalate diet so I probably started to dump out oxalates too quickly. I still want to go back to carnivore bcs I can't resolve my health issues on animal based alone but I'm scared now since my heart has still something wrong with it. Gonna do further testing to see exactly how damaged it is.🥺
You always have such deep insights and information. I have been learning so much. Your approach is amazing and comes from a place of care and concern for optimal wellbeing. Thank you so much @NutritionwithJudy. By the way - what color paint is the light blue wall with the door? I need that color in my life!
Okay so you don't tell us how to fix electrolytes or anything... how to help CIRS? I've been carnivore for 3 years and not losing weight and lost a bunch of hair... could it be not for me? What do i go back to??
On carnivore I find I have to do a salt heavy mix, a potassium heavy mix, and magnesium pills or I do not get enough. I'm ok with it though, I know I'm supporting my body in the way it currently needs. And doing this has resolved other things, like the POTS symptoms being alleviated with salt or my heart palps with magnesium.
I've added a quality b-12 supplement and now I have more energy and I am not getting anywhere near the amount of muscle cramps that I use to. I was surprised because you would think eating all that meat would provide plenty of b-12. Not really sure why this has helped but it has.
Could be a thyroid issue. Been on carnivore for a few years. I noticed that I was bruising and bleeding easily. I thought maybe I was anemic. So began supplementing with b vitamins, especially folate. But it didn't help. I tried vitamin C. Didn't help either. Only when I began to take thyroid med for mild hyperthyroidism, the bleeding went away.
I have diabetes insipidus though not diagnosed as such. I wondered for decades how I can have ADH issues and not be diagnosed but I just came to realize its because of how rare this disease is. There is no diabetes insipidus type 2 or diabetes insipidus type 1 as there is with diabetes mellitus because its not a condition that many people get. I claim diabetes insipidus because nowadays we have the diabetes type 2 and diabetes type 1 and pre-diabetes. They all are caused by insulin malfunction and diabetes insipidus is caused by ADH insufficiency.....be that from over intake of water or not....its a disregulation of the water in the body. Anyway that is my rant when 35 yrs ago I asked my doctor...so do I have diabetes insipidus and he said a firm NO. As for electrolyte imbalances on carnivore (just wanna add here that I am in no way an expert) we disrupt the sodium/potassium ratio nature intended for us when we salt food. Beef has about a 1 to 4 ratio of sodium to potassium which is great for health. We then add so much sodium to natures balance and find we have electrolyte issues. If you salt your food your body adapts by using ADH to flush the sodium out but also your kidneys are now in flush mode and "IMO" all minerals get flushed. ADH as I understand it just tells the kidneys to make more urine. So now your flushing more and more water out your system on a daily basis and we have the keto/carnivore push for more salt....it kinda makes no sense IMO. Just dont salt like crazy and you will adapt to less salt taste and have an easier time maintaining electrolytes.
This makes sense. The only time I felt really good on carnivore was when I was eating close to raw food. I ate raw pork and some chorizo on a camping trip because I accidentally packed an empty can of gas for the stove. I was mountainbiking and hiking up steep trails without any issues. Mind clear, no lactic acid, no camps.
I struggle with mineral imbalance and take supplements to avoid cramping at night. But mine I believe comes down to my late stage chronic kidney disease.
Judy, if we've been in mold a long time, our bodies do not metabolize fat and it creates problems with eating high animal fat diet. Obviously, going to the root cause is the answer. Is there a way to support fat metabolism until our bodies have recovered this function?
2 notes: I thought all sugar-free electrolyte powders were the same: NO! Read your electrolytes and make sure it is the same ratio as LNMT otherwise you could have trouble sleeping from the wrong balance. I also thought collagen (costco) in coffee was fine...but it doesn't have tryptophan and you won't sleep because of the lack of tryptophan...so either switch or get tryptophan. Nothing like having trouble sleeping and collagen & electrolyte inbalance making it worse!
I need this message today, 4 mths carni like eating beef and lamb. I still have no energy getting cramps will check out your links. I’m in Perth definitely need help any suggestions? Thank you
Please be patient. I struggled for over 6 months feeling terrible, but now over 3 years in, my body has settled and feels great. I’m 63 and had previously had IBS and many other issues for over 33 years. It definitely takes time for the body to change.
So if your ADH is too low what’s the solution? Give it more time? Take a supplement? What’s causing it to be too low and how do I increase ADH? This topic can be a whole different video.
Anybody please help me… I’ve been carnivore for nine months now and now have major histamine issues and trying to navigate all that, but my chloride level is chronically low for about 12 years. None of my doctors seem to really care. I think it’s bad, but I’m wondering. To complicate things further I’m a type one diabetic.
Do research on histamine and foods that increase your levels. Supposedly, people who have allergies n or asthma may be sensitive. I have a new np educating me about this but I've been doing well on keto and eat a wide variety of protein, salads 🥑 Greek yogurt and some berries. No asthma since childhood and allergies are manageable. Still have issues with electrolytes though magnesium and potassium is helping quite a bit. I am very active as I do weight training n cardio as well.
I started carnivore in good faith, no negative perception, sticking with ruminant meat, but after 2 months, still not seeing any results. Far from it, I’m more inflamed than before. I don’t think I’m sensitive to any animal foods. I am taking electrolytes and magnesium and potassium. I am dumping oxalate for sure. Do you know why I’m not seeing any results yet?
Eat a little of something that is high in oxalates when your feeling junky and see if it helps. If it does, it's probably oxalate dumping. You can eat a little oxalates every day and slowly decrease to wean yourself off gently.
I have been carnivore for 18 months and thriving. I never cheat, but WOW, I have had such dry mouth excessively thirsty and peeing a lot recently. I would like to talk to you if possible.. Is that possible??
Yo I’ve dealt with these same symptoms and so have many other carnivores. I know it might seem crazy, but the solution for most people is removing salt from their diet. Watch steak and butter gals video on why she removed salt. This should solve all those problems.
@@Silentmind369 haha yeah, if it wasn’t already restrictive enough. I just recently was experimenting with adding salt back in and I experienced all the symptoms you mentioned. Keep in mind that coffee also depletes minerals so if you’re drinking that it will mess up your electrolyte balance as well.
@realrawcast Ya, it's funny you say that about coffee! I just told myself wow that cup of coffee I just had made me feel like crap. I'm done with coffee! I quit coffee for 5 years and felt great. Coffee messes up my gut anyway..
@@Silentmind369 Good job! You are a strong person for willing to experiment with your diet to find out what is truly optimal. I rarely run into individuals who take diet seriously, and people that will eliminate things that they deem bad instead of eating to please the tastebuds. I see diet as the most important part of human life, yet almost everyone I meet neglects it. I love carnivore and I’m glad it’s changing the narrative in the health scene. Stay healthy my friend.
The title of this video was totally misleading in my opinion. Did you answer 'Why electrolytes are imbalanced' No 😮 Apart from one little nugget of info said in 5 seconds about ADH. You didn’t get the message across because I switched off when there was no mention of sodium, magnesium or potassium or generally electrolytes. On a more positive note I thought your video breaking down Paul Saladinos' blood work was nothing short of pure genius. 😊
Same here, but I added salt because Dr Brownstein said not to use iodine without salt and I also add a pinch of potassium to my drinking water and I feel so much better.
You're right, I didn't but I have my thoughts that I haven't fully teased out. I have looked into it some as so many people are for it, but I probably will share my thoughts in the next Carnivore Cure book. I do have my concerns, even if people are feeling better. But it's a risk/reward situation.

"Don't be scared of healing" that is wonderfully expressed..
That’s remarkable and wonderful! So happy for you! God bless you with continued health, healing and joy!! ❤

Always kind, impartial and practical. Thank you! 🙏🏻
Thank you! ❤

Great message! So important! Thank you!
Awesome video jammed packed with gold. Although, I think the title of this video should be, "Building a strong foundation."
Plenty of sunlight exposure is super important too
This was EXACTLY what I needed !!
You're so good, Judy... I really love the way you explain things and how you consider all angles of healing with such integrity.
Love you Judy!! Thank you!! ☺️
Thanks Judy for bringing this up as no one else has 😀
Supplement with Reishi. Kidneys are responsible for balancing electrolytes in the body
I have heard many anecdotal stories of supplemental boron helping, it’s cheap so maybe give it a try!

The main problem, is large-scale farming, because it's highly-profitable for big corp.. Greed has a big cost to the natural world.
While that is a problem, I don't believe that's the problem of our electrolytes being imbalanced. Our sea salt is also from the sea. But agree, overall, our world is becoming more toxic.
Best in mind in London where I’m from pollution ended peoples lives in their 50s

Can’t believe how easy these times are lol

I just love your presentations. I always learn so much from you more than any other channel. Thank you.
Maybe omad is the problem

❤Wow, Judy! Incredible information, well done!!❤
How did you know that i needed this info.!!
Thank you Judy.
My restless leg syndrome - and morning leg cramps - disappeared on carnivore. Opposite to what I expected, considering that I added no electrolytes (except I do like to salt liberally - maybe thats it).
Yes, sodium is super important! We need a lot of it in the beginning especially!
Great video. If I may- I've been Carnivore for 18 months and have been taking Taurine(an amino acid) every day for a long while now as it regulates/modulates electrolytes. Among the many other beneficial things it does. Please research and look into Taurine for electrolyte balancing.
I will - thanks!❤
Love this video! Amazing information
Same here now...ever since getting covid...Ive had loose stool problem and my eczema came back...and an uptick in migraines
take a look at SIFO: www.nutritionwithjudy.com/understanding-sifo-and-how-to-treat-it (if you take antibiotics it allows the fungal to flourish). and then consider a simple binder, you may just need extra help to detox and that may resolve a lot of what you are going through.
So I have a couple questions:
Wow, thank you so much! I will be looking into all those suggestions ❤️
I have tried everything. This is what i found to be perfect.
OMAD, steak, eggs, sardines, butter, milk ( the milk is perfect electrolyte solution)
I love the way you talk, and the way you see the world :)

Maria Emmerich says salt is the way to retain water in your body when you've eliminated the carbs.
Agree, I read that in her book keto
I took the allergy shots for 4 years. I don't recommend it.❤
So encouraging, thank you!
I was hoping for more tips on how to balance electrolytes though...😅
See the video posted in the comments! And if that doesn’t work consider adh testing
@@NutritionwithJudy Thanks! What is adh testing? I have had horrible issues with electrolyte balance on carnivore...I even had a heart attack (!!) even though I did everything I could with salt and electrolytes. I still want to go back to carnivore bcs I can't resolve my health issues on animal based alone but I'm scared now since my heart has still something wrong with it.

@@lightningshredder5605 raw pork is brave! Stay safe
I struggle with mineral imbalance and take supplements to avoid cramping at night. But mine I believe comes down to my late stage chronic kidney disease.
supplement with reishi
I saw some one saw a little carbs signals the kidney in a way to keep electrolytes balanced
Right. Make sure they are low carb veggie carbs, not grains or starches. I like onions, cucumber and avocados. Asparagus and lettuce is okay, too.
Can you please talk about source of phosphatidylserine? Is plant source not good?
Judy, if we've been in mold a long time, our bodies do not metabolize fat and it creates problems with eating high animal fat diet. Obviously, going to the root cause is the answer. Is there a way to support fat metabolism until our bodies have recovered this function?
So let's say one's ADH is out of order. What can we do to optimize it so that minerals like sodium aren't lost?
2 notes: I thought all sugar-free electrolyte powders were the same: NO! Read your electrolytes and make sure it is the same ratio as LNMT otherwise you could have trouble sleeping from the wrong balance. I also thought collagen (costco) in coffee was fine...but it doesn't have tryptophan and you won't sleep because of the lack of tryptophan...so either switch or get tryptophan. Nothing like having trouble sleeping and collagen & electrolyte inbalance making it worse!
I've known people who didn't think Carnivore would help them, but tried it because nothing else had worked, and Carnivore improved their life.
Hey Judy, do you think you could do a video regarding Alpha gal syndrome?
Great video Judy!
"Take care of your bodies because it is the only place you have to live" I like that.
10:51, is that something for Paul Saladino to have a listen to ?
The best, like usual.
Thanks
Hi Lucas!! Thank you. Hope you're well. Send me an update on how things have been going.
I'll email you
Thanks don't catch cold stay safe and warm, wear jumper or jacket if you need to.
Contact one of the Carnivore doctors or coaches for a consultation.
Are you basically saying that we can eat anything as long as we believe it's good for us ?
I started carnivore in good faith, no negative perception, sticking with ruminant meat, but after 2 months, still not seeing any results. Far from it, I’m more inflamed than before. I don’t think I’m sensitive to any animal foods. I am taking electrolytes and magnesium and potassium. I am dumping oxalate for sure. Do you know why I’m not seeing any results yet?
Are you eating aged meat? A lot of people deal with histamine issues.
@@JRCHHH57 I don’t think so. I get my ribeyes at Sam’s Club. They don’t look old. What do you mean by aged meat?
@@aikiminomori2261
Those steaks are likely dry-aged at least 30 days.
Not fresh and plain.
@@bac0129 oh wow. How do I get fresh meat in the market?
Eat a little of something that is high in oxalates when your feeling junky and see if it helps. If it does, it's probably oxalate dumping. You can eat a little oxalates every day and slowly decrease to wean yourself off gently.
Thank you ❣️🌞💐
I have been carnivore for 18 months and thriving.
@@realrawcast Removing salt? Wow ok
Do you have a video on h. Pylori?
My doctor gave me diuretic. When I go back, uh oh, low potassium. Then I read that dandelion tea is a diuretic and doesn't deplete potassium.
Thanks. Great Info.
Judy's Awesome Gastro
beautiful video
Judy is super Mega ultra smart! 🤓
Thank you.
My caffeine definitely causes electrolyte issues...
I notice the same with me
This may be a common denominator bc the caffeine may be an issue but ground coffee may have mold, bugs.. and Lord knows what else…
I noticed when I started doing high dose iodine my sleep got better...
Same here, but I added salt because Dr Brownstein said not to use iodine without salt and I also add a pinch of potassium to my drinking water and I feel so much better.
How many drops is high dose I personally do 3 was wondering if I should take more or stop it maybe
HRT has a major impact as well and sadly hasn't been adressed in this video.
You're right, I didn't but I have my thoughts that I haven't fully teased out. I have looked into it some as so many people are for it, but I probably will share my thoughts in the next Carnivore Cure book. I do have my concerns, even if people are feeling better. But it's a risk/reward situation.
I have this. I must eat a lot of salt and drink saltwater, or I'll get leg cramps at night. 😣
You mentioned "black pepper", is Pepper bad for you?
Not bad for you....some are just sensitive to it. Many strict carnivores use salt as their only seasoning.
