@ ECS Tuning: As I'm from Germany I have a link for the OEM male connector. For sure they can ship it to the states or maybe you got the equivalent in the states. Tell me If I should you the link.
I would have ordered this kit but cutting the connector off killed this idea. If I’m going to cut wires and stuff, I’d rather get train horns and call it a day.
@@RickJohnson you could also simply use taps and add two of your own wires to build that plug. Much better choice than cutting the wire, and completely reversible. Also, one could find the same connection that the horn has, and alter the provided plug instead, requiring no change to the factory horn wire.
That's up to you, and whether or not you want to foot the bill for how much damage a hit to a metal pan could cause. There are two sides to the oil pan argument and honestly even if there is a slight possibility that a metal pan could fuck my engine up I am not interested.
Meh, still sounds too “tinny”, the horn needs more bass, for a meatier sound, the closer the sound gets to a train horn the better I’m sick of these wimpy “meep-meep” wussy horns
I don't know about better... build quality maybe. Best sounding horns are / were the dual tone horns of the 80's VW & BMW used. Can't beat the tone & loudness of those... IMHO.
Question: what gauge or type of terminals are those? I tried to do this process without the correct crimpers and it seems to have gone badly. I don’t mess with electrical stuff much but I’ve been searching for these terminals for a few days in hopes that I’d get a speedy reply from ecs.
still sounds too high pitched, louder yes, but still sounds meh, a high pitched meh. I need to find info if a 90s gm horn can fit on the vdub without issues.
Que esta pasando con ECS? Porque ahora corta pzas de fabrica? Antes todo era plug and play, Están bajando sus estándares de calidad, o es por economía?
What the hell is happening to VW tuning. I thought this was a Subaru and Mazda thing. 🤔 "this will look lit AF with my massive gold intercooler that I stenciled "evom" on"
@@seanmcd72 If being heard were the case. There a lot of horn options out there for less than 150$. To each their own. honestly how often do you use your horn? The stock one works well enough. I think you missed the point.
@@Hath.0 I use mine a lot. Stock horn isn't bad, but I'd rather be heard. The bracket is the best part about this kit. They failed with the wiring harness, It's definitely half assed. Where is Ron Swanson when you need him?!
Why does it have to be exclusive to Subaru? People modify cars hoe they want, and the idea that they need to look a certain way to make you happy is silly. I don't see any reason to rag on somone just because they want to go a bit more boy racer than I do.
You did Whot ??? On a Faw-Vey !!! You removed the European highway horns for a set of Asian buzzers... I think you're in dire need of a Nissan or Hyundai because... you're certainly no Dubber.
So this is where Zach came from. Love the work you’re doing with donut man!
Hey it’s the guy from Donut🔥💯
I thought so too!
The donut guy is from ecs!
Zach!
Why not just the right connector?. I don't like cutting the factory plug
Mark7 GTI then it’s not for you
Well, we tried that. We couldn't get anyone to supply us an OEM connector, so we had to go this route.
i just googled it and found one immediately

I haven't watched the whole thing yet, but using a relay, there are definitely ways to avoid cutting any wires.

Are there any horn options that plug into the factory loom?? Seems like an oversight by manufacturers making it this much work to swap a horn
That first horn sounds fine .
Never used my horn once on my mk7 nor do i know what my horn sounds like. So naturally i want this beast
Thanks so much for demonstrating the product that I watched you install for 13mins!!!!!
@0:10 He does
WOAH ZACK! now I can say ive watched all your videos!
I think i would be worried about replacing that plastic oil pan before i worry about some horns

Bosch used to make attention grabbing horns as fitted to Daimler-Benz and Porsche cars of the 60's....
At what time your going to test it !?
It's in the first 12 seconds...
Dude...
Can you sell the mount bracket separately?
All that for a horn ?
Yeah people do it all the time for Subaru's or do you not see them peeking through the grill of 80% of Subaru's on the road?
The stock horn sounds better

The point of hella horns isn't really that they are loud it's that they look nice...
How do you remove the top grill on a 7.5
Will this work in a 2014 beetle?
Does the bracket fit on the mk6 r as well?
Will this install the same for a MK7 R?
Does this work for a 2009 gti?
Could you do a video of fog light install on mk6 jetta face-lift with wiring to factory switch can't find one anywhere.
You there be an option for purchasing just the bracket and wire harness?
Yes, you can select only the bracket and harness here: goo.gl/Jofc6r

99SVTBolt For sure

Yeahhhh, I think I like how the horn looks, but I don't like the install process, so I'm just gonna install the horns for looks and call it a day lol
Will they fit 2018 1.8t golf tsi
Yes, they'll fit.
All that and no sound clip?
Did you skip the first 12 seconds?
Plus it's called a modafcation hint doing something not oem
Looks cool and all, but the result that convinces people to buy is decibel comparison. I need people to WTFU when I hit the horn. Otherwise it's AIR.
What it is ??
Thanks for testing it at the end...☹️
We tested it at the beginning!!
Where Is the sound file
Watch the first few seconds of the video.
13 minutes of watching and no honk preview 😂😂😂
WTF??? What do they sound like vs. stock?? Huh?
D J bruh, watch the beginning of the video
That's it? where is the sound? I'm waiting 13.05 minutes for the sound.
It was at the very beginning of the video… you watch thirteen minutes but not the first ten second?
Isn’t this the guy from donut media
Never showed where to battery or relay placement i also ordered a kit i got the harness and bracket no horns 😂😂😂😂 ecs is worthless
👍
