Great list. For me as a bank angler :
1.) 6’10” MLF spinning. Drop shot, Ned rig, crappie baits, small swim baits
2.) 7’0”-7’2” MHModF casting, all things moving.
3.) 6’10” - 7’1” HF, for frogs, 1/2 oz spinner baits, buzzbaits, 5-6” swimbaits on an owner beast hook. Shorter length makes it easier to hike in, cast around trees
4.) 7’3” - 7’4” MModF - F spinning, for those times when the bank is open and longer casts are required.
5.) “speciality rod” for whatever your favorite technique is. Mine is a 7’3” MH/F , 1/4 - 3/4oz, line 10-17lb test jig rod. This is the one rod I’ll go above budget to buy because I always throw a jig.

Pretty good list. I think I would go with a similar list. 1) 6’10” Medium mod fast casting (top water/jerkbait). 2) 7’0”-7’3” MH fast ( can really handle everything if needed). 6’10” - 7’1” medium or medium light fast or extra fast (handles minnow shaking, ned rigs, wackys, drop shots. 3) 7’3 - 7’6” Heavy fast for heavy jigs T rigs, Carolina rigs, etc. 4) 7”- 7’3” MH mod to mod fast for most moving baits including squarebills. 5) 7’6” -8’0” MH mod fast composite for deep cranks, A rigs, Swim baits

Commenting prior to watching to see if our opinions are similar.
    1. Crankbait
    2. Single hook moving bait
    3. Jig/bottom contact
    4. Medium spinning
    5. Medium light or light spinning

The moving bait rod that I chose is a casting 7'4" MH moderate action Kastking Spirale series rod. The casting reel of my choice is the Shimano SLX DC baitcaster.

What would be really cool is to show people ratings are totally different from each company so that MH F from one may be completely different to another. Just a thought might put some things in perspective for a lot of anglers

I have looked all over the internet and have not found any videos whatsoever about or with the Shimano Expride B 7'3"HSB. This is the solid tip casting rod. Can yall please do a video showcasing as many solid tip casting rids that you can. Daiwa has tge Steez AGS The Sensor and I own it and love it. The Shimano Expride B specs out a little longer and being able to handle a little more lure weight. I would love to see how they compare and what other rids are available in a casting solid tip.

Thanx kipp.I guess I'm not as finessey as you guys. I throw everything spinning on the 7' medium fast Zodius. It has a light tip and gets the job done.
You guys can always do a part 2 of the categories you already did. Theres alot of brands and models that missed there shot.

I'm in 'the South' and I completely agree w/ this list :P If it were me in terms of bang for the buck I'd suggest looking at:
    Spinning:
    Poison Adrena 72 mlf
    Poison Adrena 7 m rf
    Casting:
St Croix Victory 7'3 mh f
    St Croix Victory 7'4 h f
    Dobyns Kaden 735 cb
(you can swap the adrenas with pretty much anything else out there if you prefer foregrips on your spinning rods). That 735cb is a great all around crankbait rod but also does better than most with bladed jigs as well...that said if you really like jerkbaits and think you might want to throw more of those it might be worth considering 6 and at that point I'd step up to the Dobyns Champ 736 glass (also a composite rod like that St. Croix but a bit less bendy) and then you could pick up a Kaden 6104cb and have a great value jerkbait / popper rod.

Definitely should have a 6.8-7.2 M BC in there. That can do so much, I'd say replace that ML with it.

dont mind watching these solely for the weight and taper of these rod's but you guys are god awful in remembering to put the rod weight in... zodias and croix LTB both missing weights... every week you miss 2 or 3 rod weights... its so simple... weigh it bend it move on... jesus

    • @omniafishing
      @omniafishing  4 วันที่ผ่านมา

Thanks for the feedback! The Zodias was mentioned at 4.9 oz, but you're right we missed the LTB. It came in at 4.2 oz. We'll start leaving the weights next to the links in the description so you can reference it there if we happen to miss a weight.
