I love this rod! I use this more than the Expride 6'10"M. I use as jerkbait and topwater rod with two different reels, I use braid to mono for topwater and fluorocarbon for jerkbait. The tip is extra fast for working these treble baits with so much ease, and great bend to pin and fight hooked fish. I have also used with smaller to medium crankbaits with great sucess! I love this rod paired with the Metanium reel. I bought another so I don't have to swap reels. It does not feel like a medium light at all, surprising rod!

I want to ask, is this shimamo expride glass casting rod suitable for using top water lures such as pencil, popper, soft frog other than cheaterbait lure?This is because this shimano expride rod is actually made of glass and not graphite.What I understand so far, the blank rod is made of glass, it is strong but less sensitive than graphite which is more sensitive but it is fragile and not as strong as glass.

Bass Pro Crankin' Stick 7'3" Heavy... it may be 7'4". Unbelievable rod for super cheap. It is also super light. I own an Evergreen and a Daiwa Tatula Elite rod and think the BPS is better.

I wasn't impressed with the Expride and ended going back and found a Johnny Morris Bass Pro chatter bait rod it is heavy action moderate rod and I love it.

These bend test videos are great! I have been using a Falcon Lowrider “sleeper” rod of my own for chatterbaits for several years. Check it out if you get a chance it’s the 7’6” MH moderate fast cranker ii graphite model.

Love Falcon! Been fishing their casting rods since the 90s. Definitely a sleeper, bang for your buck rod maker.

Every St croix rod I own has lost eyelets from the guides for no apparent reason and now collects dust in the basement. In over 30 years of fishing no other brand has had this issue.

St croix is total garbage. Absolute trash. Every st croix I own is missing eyelets from the guides. They all sit in the basement wasting away. In over 30 years of fishing it’s the only brand I’ve had that has this issue.
