    Of course, there's always the simplest explanation: magic. They're magic weapons, so they use magic. But that's less fun.

    I like to think that the outward appearance of the keyblade is sort of like an allusion. With simple keychains it can change it's appearance in many ways, some appear to be sharp and some don't, yet they all still cut the same. So I wouldn't trust what it looks like. On the inside, it's a powerful sword.

  • @SetoShadowVT
    @SetoShadowVT 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    A very interesting take on this discussion, I've never considered a magical aura before around the blade. I've always thought especially the Kingdom Key is the attacking side was the side that was the sharpest despite looking like a blunt object and the side Sora always uses to go over Sora's shoulder is the safest side. The part that is dull and no sharpness is involved except maybe the Key portion of the blade.

  • @andyabravanel6298
    @andyabravanel6298 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Isn't it also possible that the key blade only cuts those that he wielder deem a threat? Since they are supposed to be connected to the heart, this would explain why certain characters are killed by it (i.e. most bosses) while others aren't (Riku and a few others). That makes the most sense, and would further connect the key blade to the wielders.

    My theory was always that it was a bundle of monofilaments which were held together via some means (probably magic) and they split when striking an enemy cutting them that way

  • @Vulgun
    @Vulgun 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Another explanation could be that the Heartless and Nobodies have no fully physical body and that because they disintegrate, that's the reason you can cut through them? While this may mainly apply to almost all Heartless and Nobodies, prominent Nobodies like Organization XIII 1 had some people who would get sliced up, like Luxord. I feel like the Keyblade can only cut if it finishes off the opponent, or it will otherwise finish the opponent by sending a beam of light straight to the enemy.

    • @TheJamacaneseNerd04231996

      but why does it work against people like the disney characters and The Final Fantasy cast?

    • @Vulgun
      @Vulgun 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheJamacaneseNerd Think of it this way; the Disney characters oft fall against other Disney characters, and the Keyblade only bashes like a blunt object to the Disney characters and FF characters. That's why Sephiroth seems to not have any cut on him. Or that other characters outside Heartless and Nobodies seem to have not been sliced through.

    My Kingdom Hearts theory for how the Keyblade cuts would have to be light and by combining the wielder's strength with the Keyblade's while it's wrapped in how much light the wielder has , it does more damage. I've only played KH, KH2, KH re: Chain of Memories, 358/2 Days and re: coded so I'm just telling you my theory. I just thought of all this after just watching your theory. I thought it was pretty interesting. I had only wondered how it cut one other time and I gave up on it for quite awhile. I decided I'd just forget about it and just wonder to myself what our world would be like if Kingdom Hearts was actually real. We do have a lot of darkness in our world if you get what I mean so our world would probably fall to the Heartless. Sometimes I even wondered if it would be fun to be a Keyblade wielder. Fighting Heartless sounds fun if you discount the boss battles. I totally got off track didn't I? I believe the Keyblade uses it's wielder's light with the combined strength of both weapon and wielder to defeat enemies.
    While I was watching a part of your theory, Riku was hit by Roxas's Keyblade yet wasn't cut. He was a bit injured but wasn't cut at all. I think Roxas's light might have wavered a bit during the fight. He and Sora may be connected but I believe their lights are different. I can't explain it yet but I will figure out how eventually.

    Hmk this theory may sound crazy but what if in KH3 you create a character and they take side being one of the 13 seekers of darkness and you get to see how the story played out on the side of darkness after you beat the first game and with this custom character you can go online and the multiplayer area would be similar to birth by sleep

    I always thought it was weird that Sora uses the blunt side of the Keyblade to attack rather than the side with the teeth.
