Perhaps the story of "Fragmentary Passage" indicates that Sora's mother Aqua did not actually die in the car accident, but was put into a coma as a result. As time passed by, she regained consciousness but is now suffering from amnesia.
When Riku saves Sora at the end of DDD, this could represent Riku standing up for Sora when Young Xehanort was causing Sora to go back into his introverted life or his "Dream" world as represented by the sleeping worlds. Riku fighting Armored Ventus Nightmare and Black Coat Nightmare could represent Riku breaking through to Sora and ridding him of the darkness of his brothers death from his mind. I think the Keyblade represents Sora's hope and trust that's why the Keyblade is seen as a protector of light that fights the darkness and why it always ends up in the hands of Sora's most trusted friends like Lea, Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Ventus, Terra, Aqua, and Eraquas these people in Sora's mind despite their faults are seen as heroes but the dark keyblades used by Xehanort, Venitas, and Dark Riku represent an antagonist, something in Sora's life that he feels has done him true wrong. Venitas could also represent Sora's feelings about his brothers death, that it was his fault. The seen in DDD where Venitas shows up next to Young Xehanort could represent Young Xehanort antagonizing Sora about his brother's death.

Riku passing the mark of mastery when Sora doesn't could represent Riku getting a college scholarship and Sora not getting one. Not sure how Xion fits into all of this Maybe she was Soras older sister who Roxas/Ventus killed in an accident before he got to know her that's why she is "forgotten".

Actually now that I think about it, in 358/2 Days, Xion was willing to sacrifice herself and be forgotten in order to give Sora's memories back. I'm not sure about the whole memory part but the way Xion speaks to Roxas at the end of her life and how she said "It was my choice to go away now" and the pieces of her floating to the sky could represent that maybe Xion committed suicide and that Roxas/Ventus was greatly affected by it, wondering if he was the cause of it and how he misses her. Sora could have heard of Xion's suicide from Axel during their daily conversations but that is open to debate.
Or maybe xion is roxas/ventus's friend the reason why the other members of the organization always thunks that xion is a mere puppet its because xion is actually once a teacher in training however one accident makes her failed her test and met roxas which she became's boyfriend the reason sora never know this because roxas never want to talk about this because its a secret relationship thus why axel is the only one who only knew this relationship
They also have a son which is a mean and bad version of that boy was vanitas thus explaining why vanitas looks like sora he is sora's nephew
Now back at the organization
Xion is because they trained her to become like a another teacher in the school they're trying to beat
That's why they call her "perfect replica" or a "puppet" when xion knew this she actually been depressed so depressed indeed that she never talks to axel anymore only on roxas when she knew about the accident and the tragic fate sora needed a new brain so xion gave her brain but if they order's to do so xion's memory will be erased and she will be forgotten thus renderring the finale of 358/2 days

Afterwards, ventus became seriously depressed even attempted suicide. It was only when sora convinced him other wise did ventus decide not to take his life
This is a great theory, but i really hope this isn't the case. I want this to stay a magical fantasy adventure story.
Like most "Its all in their head" theories, I don't like this. However unlike the other theories, This one although depressing, is a descent theory unto its self. Good job on making an such a good theory from a depressing idea.

Another problem is that among the Seekers are the foster councilor, the principal, two of Sora's teachers and the Orphanage boss. Why they hell would they accompany someone to college? HMK, if you want a good KH theory, try this one. Are Marluxia and Larxene double agents? This theory suggests that the reason Marluxia and Larxene plotted to betray Xemnas was not because they were greedy or power hungry, but because they knew of Xemnas's plans.
Here's how it works, Lumaria and Relane were a bounty hunter duo who may have been in a relationship, be they lovers, siblings or married. Nonetheless at some point prior to 358/2 days Ansem the Wise contacted them and hired them to kill Xemnas. When their initial attempts failed they realized the only way to get close to the target was to infiltrate the Organization. So they went separate ways and both willfully submitted to the darkness in their hearts and became Marluxia and Larxene. However their personalities were affected by the transformation and Marluxia became a sociopath while Larxene became a sadist. Nonetheless neither lost sight of their goal. During their time in the Organization they learned that Xemnas was too powerful for them to kill, but they saw potential in Roxas when he joined and sought to recruit him. However during their training missions with Roxas they decided he was too kind and loyal to be their weapon. Yeah have any of you ever noticed that before the CO team leaves Marluxia and Larxene accompany Roxas most often during those missions? So what if they were analyzing him? Anyway they find out Roxas is the Nobody of Sora and decide to try and make him their weapon. They recruit Axel for additional support not knowing he has been ordered to kill them setting the stage for Chain of Memories.

I think it'll go like this: The entire adventure seems like it was all a dream, but it all actually happened and Sora's mom is seen and thanks him for rescuing her, along with many others, from the realm of darkness.

+godzillavkk honestly I think it's a cool concept. It reminds me of Bridge to Terrabithia. with the main character using his fantasy world to escape the reality he doesn't want to live in. I would love this to be a concept for a different video game though. That the main character learns to have to face reality. This is also similar to the concept of Paramore's song: Brick By Boring Brick
Watching this after KH3 came out. Now I want to see how that game fits into this theory.
Sora finally overcoming al the demons in his life, then at the end deciding not to go to college but stay with Kairi.. idk something along those lines

Wow that theory just blew my mind. It makes so much sense, but I only have one problem with it. How does Kingdom Hearts X work with this theory?
The time before the Keyblade War, Kingdom Hearts X, could represent Sora's world before the fatal accident a happy, bright, and simple one but with the unnerving feeling that something bad might happen. Xehanort's goal of obtaining what's beyond the Keyblade War could be him trying to make Sora move past the horrors that happened to him and have him grow up.
Sora appears in Kingdom Hearts X in card form along with everyone else. Sora as a little kid in BbS could represent his journey beginning.
Sora's birth in the beginning of BbS could represent the "birth" of Sora's fantasy and not necessarily his actually birth. BbS could represent Xehanort's internal struggle with bringing Sora into the orphanage. His struggle is with taking Sora away from Eraqus while Terra, Aqua, and Ventus are Xehanort's feelings that are stopping him from taking Sora away.
Sora in DDD is actually 16 while HMK's theory is stating in DDD that Sora would be at least 18. My theory is that Sora's birth in BbS was actually the beginning of his fantasy which would be implying that at the time he would actually be at least 2 when his family died.
Maybe X represents the ongoing war before Sora's birth?
I actually saw this theory and read it...It's very sad...I almost cried about it...Also, you left out Vanitas. Come back to this again when Kh3 comes out.

Doctor Roxas That wouldn't be possible considering Sora wasn't even born in KH X unless someone would like to tell me that was all in Sora's head as well, which would be impossible considering the fact that Sora isn't the center of the world in KH X, or BBS neither of them are part of his adventures.
He also doesn't have a brother as we know off and the residents of Destiny Island would notify the parents if the child was missing for 8 days I think Nomura mentioned that the other Residents of Destiny Islands were in Suspended Animation in KH1 after the storm happened. Though, according to official timeline heartstation.org/?p=2249, they would have eight days to notice and worry that Sora was missing after Sora defeated Ansem

Yo that was fucked up I literally have to use 3 full boxes of tissues. Anyway... Only thing that this could've incorporate this mind of Sora's I was thinking it could've given that Shutter Island feel to it have it a bit more twisted. But other than that... That was one intense strong theory.

There's a big flaw in this theory though. And it's the fact that in Kingdom Hearts 1, Sora's mother is around. We don't see her, but we hear her when Sora is in his room on the night of the storm.
In the first Kingdom Hearts game Sora is said to be 14, which is older than 10, the age he 'became an orphan'.
when i saw this theory it made me feel sad but also it made me feel like there was hope and truly i dont think this would actually happen in the games but belive me there are people that have experienced this kind of pain sora had in this theory
I kind of believe this theory. At the beginning, none of the Disney characters existed on the island in the game that sora, riku, & kairi live in.

I have this theory that Sora is in a comma and "Kingdom Hearts" is the dream he has during that comma. This dream is a mixture of his memories with his fantasies.
Also maybe because of the cutscene when Roxas and Namine talk before going back to their respective selves, and Roxas being a figment of Sora's imagining of his elder brother's spirit, maybe he could imagine his brother's ghost being Roxas falling in love with Namine
I honestly think that would be a good basis for a story. But, in my opinion I don't think that could be true, just on the fact that, if it was, wouldn't we get some kind of indication? Square Enix does normally give some kind of subtle hint to those kinds of things. But there aren't really any hints towards that theory. Also, where does the keyblade come in? That's a major part of the game, keyblade this and keyblade that. So, what does that have to do with anything?
Sora is like the nicest person in the whole kingdom hearts series. It's so sad to here him in a depressing life
It takes a lot to make a person cry and for me this theory was heartbreaking in general, its sad if this is true, but at the same time it is interesting in the sense that these circumstances make a person create their own world as a way to deal with their suffering. If this is true one has to wonder what is the real for the real Sora like, is based on these 2 fictions or is it something even more unreal. Either way thank you for posting this theory even if its not your own its pretty emotional. Thank you for all the content you released to this point and hopefully we can look forward to more ideas and theories. Keep up the hard work.

I truly love this theory, being as someone who has dealed with anxiety and post-traumatic stress since I was a young girl, you really did a good job capturing how someone with these disabilities thinks about the world in general. Even though I don't believe this theory, it was still well thought out and extremely honest to the basis of the afflictions. Well done.
This is so unoriginal and very annoying. Don't try to ruin this game for people. That's what these kind of theories do. I have to say I love all of your videos but I am seriously disappointed about this one.
It reminds me of the same theory about Harry Potter: everything that happened is imagined by him, on the aim to escape from under the stairs. And the parents dead in a car accident.

I feel that your missing one really big fact in this theory, now I wouldn't know what it would represent but I'll give it a shot. Anyways what I think you forgot was the X-blade. Maybe Ventus was constantly trying to fight a disease that is really bad and often gets out of control and inflicts damage upon Sora, sometimes not to bad but sometimes it is bad. Ventus can't help but to inflict damage upon Sora because he has nothing to let his anger (Venetus) off of. Ventus was having thought about how he didn't want to hurt Sora but he didn't know how. He finnaly decided that in order to dispel the darkness and despair from him he would commit suicide so that Sora or anybody else would never be hurt again. ( hints why master Eraquis didn't want the X-blade to be formed as the darkness would consume all worlds, and in real life this would mean that if Ventus didn't make a choice soon Ventus could end up inflicting very severe damage, or even worse kill Sora. ) This may cancel out the whole part about the crash it could have just been Sora's dad and mom, while when Sora was at home was finnaly beaten by Ventus too much and ended up having brain damage. A little bit after Sora got brain damage Ventus committed suicide, so he would not harm no more.
If this turns out to be a twist ending to Kingdom Hearts 3, then I'll be unimaginably disappointed.

I really hate theses kind of theory, they always have to ruin all the things that are kind and sweet like this series
Crazy theory that actually kinda makes sense. There are some holes, and things I would change, but overall justifiable. However, I would hate if this was the case. I would be so mad that pulled a 'Lost' (The TV show) ending on me. Except instead of wasting 6 years of my life, it would waste 14+ years of my life. I don't think this theory is correct, but it's definitely justifiable.

Also when KH3 does get made, it could represent Sora's last dreams and since the Sora in KH3 is maturing, it could be THIS Sora finally accepting reality and not everything goes the way he wants and finally getting over his pain. Also and again this is just me, but I prefer Zack and Aerith from Final Fantasy VII being Sora's parents, because I feel like they just fit Sora's personality more

Unchained X: The Keyblade War could've been dramatic and fantastical retelling of the war stories that Eraqus would tell the young Sora as he would imagine his grandfather as this great hero (UX's protagonist). This could also be tie in deeper to Xehanort's relationship to Eraqus in this world, as they fought together. Luxu could just be Sora's imagining of a younger Xehanort similar to the Roxas/Ventus situation. Another possibility that could arise is WHY Xehanort and Ansem SoD took Sora away due to Eraqus being somewhat unstable because of his time in the war.0.2: Sora learns more about his mothers relationship with the principal of his elementary school: Principal Ansem (the Wise) (Ansem would just be a surname with SoD being referred to as Mr. Ansem, hence the same name) Ansem was a friend of Aqua's in her youth and helped with money after the fatal accident and Mr. Ansem being Principal Ansem's younger brother. Riku leaving with Mickey at the end of 0.2 could represent Riku studying abroad and Kairi staying behind to help with Sora. Sora's bit at the end is pretty much anyone going into college (from what I've heard) where all previous skills mean pretty much squat and he has to learn a whole new set of skills to survive in college.End of DDD: (This takes some bits from Nathan brownlee's comment) I agree with how Riku "saving" could be Riku standing up for Sora when Y. Nort was being a problem and Vanitas, Armored Ventus Nightmare, and Evil Anti-Black Coat being representations of Ven's death in Sora's mind. But also Y. Nort could be the grandson of Xehanort, always picking on Sora due to attention being taken away from him due to Sora's problem.Other stuff: Lea gaining a Keyblade at the end of DDD could mean that Lea is willing to help Sora even after main schooling is over. Hayner, Pence, and Olette are Ven's friends in high school that Sora sometimes visits.Now to overthink it.Alt theory 1: Ven isn't dead.This first part can coincide with the original theory.The Car crash: Terra was driving, Nort was in the other car. This could represent the fact that Xehanot "caused" Terra to "die" in KH:BBS with the whole heart thing. Aqua tried to save Terra, but it was for naught and she ended up perishing too.Here's where things get tricky.Ven's coma: The car crash didn't kill Ven, but put him into a coma. Vanitas could be not his death, but his coma personified. If Ven returns in KH3, it could signify Ven finally waking up, giving Sora some peace.Alt Theory 2: Xehanort is dead (or near or comatose).This is why Y. Nort picks on Sora, he blames him for taking away his beloved grandfather (irrationally so).This can go with the alt above.Alt Theory 3: 0.2 was written by Aqua.Aqua didn't curing the car crash, but couldn't cope with Ansem's death, Terra's loss, Ven's coma, and Sora's, let's face it, PTSD. She was deemed unfit to take care of Sora, and could be represented by her being "lost in darkness". News of Sora's "Kingdom Hearts" reaches her, and she uses it as a coping mechanism, much like Sora. If she is "saved" in KH3 it could mean that she has reached some form of acceptance.This can be used with the alts above.EVEN FURTHER.The Xion Theory: Xion was Ven's depression.When Lea tells Sora of Ven's time in school he mentions his depression, personified by Xion. Xion drew power away from Roxas in 358 and could also be the reason why Sora went with a new character for Ven. Ven wasn't himself. Xion's memory wipe when she was defeated could mean that when Ven got through his depression, everyone forgot about it. According to Alt 1, "Roxas" returning could be Ven having to deal with the loss of his parents' (Or parent's with Alt 3) death.KH3: End of XehanortThe end of the Xehanort saga (Without Alt 2) is Sora accepting his life, finishing college, and being at his funeral when Xehanort dies of old age.The End.

Theory but more wholesome:Sora,Riku and Kairi are just playing around with Disney characters and Final Fantasy characters who made the storyline more larger and complicated to fit summer vacation and Sora’s mom also plays with them as the bad guys.
i've theorized in my head before that kingdom hearts is all in sora's head, but i never went that deep with it. i'd be pretty pissed if that was the case though, as it seems like a cheap cop-out. plus this is the most overused theory of all time. you can pretty much apply it to any work of fiction. i'm normally a fan of your theories, but this one kinda had me snickering.

[KH3 RE:MIND SPOILERS AHEAD) Young-Xehanort could of been Xehanort's son in real life and Vanitas could be a drunk college student who caused the accident that killed his parents. Xion could be his unborn sister, Ephemer could be Sora's cousin.The Foretellers could be all of the people who wanted to adopt Sora but rejected him, which is why he sees them as evil, depicted by the Chess game at the end of KH3. The Master of Masters could be his foster parent, who is abusive. The Unversed could be the representation of the people Sora thinks caused his Parent's death. The Dream Eaters could represent all of his fears in life, hence the song "Face my Fears." Yozora could represent sora's therapist, "Saving" Sora could be trying to get his life back together.

Then in KH3D the fact Sora misses his Mark of Mastery exam may be the fact he missed the exam IRL. This theory looks like Ash's theory about being in a comatose.

This theory doesn't seem likely now anymore....unless sora's memories will be wiped and he is left on his bedroom to wake up and think it's a dream
If the Kingdom Hearts franchise wasn't a form of media like a video game series or a movie/tv series, I might find this believable. But considering it IS, I find it rather unlikely that Square Enix would go "Oh by the way, everything you've done isn't real and is in Sora's head".

Man I avoided this theory of yours for so long because I thought it was gonna be some bullshit, like how I feel about the pokemon 'it's all in the head" theory, but this was phenomenal. Goddamn HMK you're really good on presenting and expanding upon things, even when their not your theories.

I mean he does say at the beginning of the first game "I've been having these weird thoughts lately. Like is any of this for real or not?" I always thought that was a weird way to start off the game.
Let's make this more depressing for everyone, Xion. Xion was Roxas lover, and daughter of (insert organization member here.) At some point she began getting a terminal sickness. So Roxas would take her to watch the sunset with axel. They're share a moment trying not to think about the inevitable fate she has. Before she dies, she asks Roxas to marry her. To be one with her before she goes. Roxas still a kid isn't sure what to do. In the end she kills herself. The car accident leading to the death of Sora's family was driving to her funeral.

Theres a hole for me in that idea, namly Xehanort taking away Sora from Eraqas. He gave Ventus(Sora) to Eraqus, why should the leader of an orphanage give away a patient, just to take him back after a time? Nontheless a good theory, but i don't think that Square will just "break" a fantasy game of theirs into a real story.
Its a really depressing theory Kingdom Hearts is my childhood I really hope this theory isn't true Kingdom Hearts is my favorite Series.
