I think i actually remember seeing this film a few years back, not all of it but like 2/3rds. And in it, I don't think they mentioned it was a virus, I think they described that it was the volcano's eruption altering the world's atmospheric conditions, and because of that, everyone still alive at the time was affected with Agoraphobia. You could argue that the virus itself may have "been the eruption" or whatever it was that changed the atmosphere, but I don't think it was specifically labeled as being some sort of virus. But again, haven't seen it in years.
