Bought the sc project exhaust for my xsr 700 (first bike ever) thanks to this video. The difference between stock and this exhaust is insane. Highly recommend it to anyone.
Sound was the first reason for me. Stock was subtle and didn’t have too negative a look IMO. However after going with the Akropovic GP Race exhaust I did enjoy the new look. Performance was a nice cherry on top because I went from more high end motorcycles to the XSR for something more street worthy but nothing wrong with a little extra horsepower! SC looks great as well and sounds even better!
@@CappuccinoMoto The exact same one. I had the one for the XSR700 installed. I preferred the look of the retro pipe over the SC Project exhaust for the MT-07.
Great exhaust, looks perfect on the bike! I was so close to pulling the trigger on this but ended up getting the two brothers for a steal, saved about $400 off of the SC...not on the same level as the SC in terms of looks (although still looks pretty good IMO) it’s right there in terms of sound & quality! Keep the great content coming Jacob, thanks!
Feel like I've chatted with you no end about this exhaust buddy. For anyone in the comments, that new O2 sensor position is rather tight. I personally had to remove the the other end of the sensor (the plug part) from the mount on the frame just so it would sit a little bit lower. No idea what they were thinking when they decided to do this, but hey... it works. Still wouldn't choose any other exhaust on the market!
After watching your video every month or so, I finally broke down and ordered the SC Project matte black conic 70s style exhaust from Motovation Accessories. You’re right, ascetically, nothing compares. A little nervous about increased sound levels, but I’m running out of things to modify. Keep up the great work. 👊✊
@@CappuccinoMoto Also feeling a bit nervous about the sound levels. Enough to make me consider the euro 4 version even though aesthetically it's a definite downgrade. I'd mainly be doing city miles commuting to/from work. What's your Cincinnati experience been like so far? Any cops/cagers/pedestrians give you dirty looks because of the noise level?
I am ready to explore the world of motorcycle and you my friend and your informative and cool videos makes me wanted to get the Yamaha XSR as my first bike. I am a road/ off road cyclist and mountain biker but never step my foot on motorcycle so my goal is to have a bike that looks like and has some capability to ride gravel/ fire roads and hoping that bike will be able to handle that, also planning to put some knobby tires as well like the scrambler.
The SC looks good but the Akrapovic, in my opinion, looks cleaner. It doesn't stick out, the tip is flush with the swing arm and is completely tucked away and it doesn't have a logo on it. It's also easy to remove and install the baffle. But honestly, if I didn't get the Akrapovic, the SC was my next choice.
That is one sexy exhaust.. For your bike, I would also have gone for the stainless steel one, no doubt. Now, imho, you just need a set of Bridgestone AX41S tires!
Mate where did you get that seat? Looks amazing! I like the Leo Vince underbody exhaust optic wise, it’s a bit more hidden like the stock exhaust, but the sound of this sc seems much more full somehow.
It would be awesome if you were able to add in before/after stills or videos for the mods you are doing on this bike. Great videos, thank you very much for doing them!
If you prefer that one that’s cool. But IMO I’m going with a M4. That black ceramic coating is a must here in Hawaii. The salt in the air will rust that SC Project one quickly.
Great mod. Great video! You really lucked out getting that super clean earlier model. SC don't make it anymore, just the newer version with the ugly big box sticking out - making it a deal breaker for me. So now looking for an alternative with clean-lines and simple set up like yours.
Good evening I also installed this sc project exhaust. Have you carried out a reprogramming or changed the ecu or relegated the air-fuel ratio? Thank you in advance for your answer
hey great video man. wondering where you got your tank from? looking to pick up an xsr next weekend and was either thinking of plastidiping it white like yours or maybe just order it from wherever you got it from? thanks!
I was looking at options and all of these are pretty costly. Was there a slip on option that wasnt as much? Cant seem to find anything besides an M4 slip on for a ridiculous amount or a devils full exhaust system for a really reasonable 350 USD.
I never saw any good slips unfortunately. Seems like my only options were full. And not sure how slip on would work. Looking at the stock exhaust it wouldn’t clean it up too much.
@@CappuccinoMoto thanks! Looking into getting my license and a bike this summer, and the XSR700 is my style...but i want something i can learn/grow with - without feeling overpowered/intimidated by or will get bored of after 6 months.
Hi, love the videos and what you've done with your XSR. Just wondering how you got hold of the old style SC projects exhaust. I can only find one new Euro 4 ones for Sale in the UK. Thanks
Nice videos. At the end of January I got my xsr700 black... and then... Covid-19!😣 So far I rode just about 100km, therefore I am mainly thinking about mods, want to make my bike full black. I see that you have replaced that horrible plastic rear brake oil reservoir. Where did you get it from? And the chain protector?
Dang! Bad timing! I keep hearing this from other too, no fun :(. Black rear reservoir is by Rizoma. It’s not called out as specifically fitting the bike, but it does. I have the exact spec on my website I believe. The chain guard is by Urbano Bruni. Solid quality!
@@CappuccinoMoto thanks! Bad timing indeed! Now slowly opening up here in Italy, at least allowed for work and grocery shopping, therefore... all by bike!! I thought it was Urbano Bruni and guess what... I live 10km away from their physical shop here in Tuscany 😉
Good question, I don't recall any dialogue about it ... maybe this is the reason some people have issues even after the remap. You going to swap the XSR exhaust?
after you upgrade your exhaust do you really need a tune up? i just want a new exhaust for the sound and for the looks that's all. And in my city i could not find a mechanic that does tune ups
If you remove your cat you should get a tune. The bike will run lean without it. Its a pretty general rule that a full exhaust needs a tune, a cat removed slip on should get a tune, and a muffler swap slip on doesn't really need a tune, but it will still be optimal to get one.
Agree with other comments that I’ve seen. Your videos focus too much on your face and not enough on bike or products. It becomes annoying. Otherwise, nice mods and good information. Thx.

What about engine tuning after changing the exhaust? Everything I read says engine map needs to be changed or engine will be too rich or too lean.
