Hi,
Thank you for a concise explanation and instruction on how to do Proxies in Resolve. I have been looking for a simple way of achieving this and found nothing but videos of people (very knowledgeable people) flying through this (and other aspects of Resolve). Most of them are buried i the middle of other instructions. I am just starting back into video as a hobby and the last time i used editing software was adobe premiere elements 11 - which now refuses to load as it seems to have been disabled by adobe. I thought i was not going to be able to do editing of my new videos because my computer (old but still an i7 intel chip) was displaying jerky video. Now i can work on learning and doing editing without the hassle of video that won't play smoothly - Thank you so much - am going to try out your other instruction videos now.

Hi, thanks for this to the point approach ! When I want to create the proxy, after right clicking it doesn;t show 'create proxy media' like with you, right under 'generate optimized media'. Instead it says 'Render cache fusion output' . I cannot find 'create proxy media' anywhere in that pop up menu. Is this a setting ? I am working with Studio version 18.5. Thanks !

Adjust in the playback tap the proxie resolution to half this should help…
