18 is probably the best character to have DBZA call backs to and I love this video already for it.
I barely started learning fighterz today and I wanted to main 18. I’ve watched a beginner guide on bread n butter combos and the basics, moving onto an 18 specific guide and I’m already infinitely better than when I started. This is the first time I’ve actually learned to play a fighting game and it feels great seeing I’m not a complete beginner anymore
I know I'm 2 months too late, but I'm in the same boat! Albeit I'm not good just yet, aha. You should watch a vid from Mister Acolyte about Neutral if you got the time. Seeing as you barely started back then, maybe it'll help? It definitely helped me a lot, aha. I know, with what 18 is capable of, it'll help make getting into the mix easier too.

Good video! Something I was hoping to see was options using 214H Oki if the opponent chooses to reflect. There doesn't seem to be safe options that just aren't hard callouts.
DR is your best bet (ik from experience)
@@AmericanxLegendz Grabs and DR work, but they also generally have to immediately reflect so the barrier call instead works fine. Reflect is always a mindgame and hard read.
Also, you can call a assist in addition to the Ex 17, or you can do a anti reflect string as well

Sorry if it has been asked and answered before but, what do you use to make your vids? I find them extremely well made, easy to follow and excellently explained. It's kinda sad that whenever I watch guides for other games it's just a replay of them in training mode with no explanation whatsoever, or explained but in a way that seems made up at the moment. I would like to see a "TinyTorgue guide to making guides".
I use Premiere Pro and Photoshop when it's needed, as for the explanation part I just have a good feeling of what people need in DBFZ. I've seen several of my friends go through the beginning steps, but it really helps that FighterZ is so nicely streamlined and clear.

Do you have any tips for how to learn delay on combos for the loops? Is there a knack to how to practice that or is it just keep trying until you get a feel for it? I have managed a couple of times but I feel like it's not consistent and I've been at it for like 2 hours haha. Probably a stupid question but just thought I'd ask in case I'm wasting time by missing something to help

do u have to angle the discs down in the loops or can they just go straight? I always have the first two parts of the loop down but when I get to the third one it drops
You don't need to angle them down but it doesn't hurt either. The new loops can get a bit annoying to get the full last loop on thin bodies from what I've tried, you'll just have to practice or adjust the combo to your liking
i swear i can never keep track of each character's ideal positions these day, i always thought 18 was good as a point
She used to be pushed towards being point cuz ppl thought she was whack without assists, truth was she was always versatile in team placements
She's been my anchor ever since I picked up the game...
All they needed to do is Buff her grabs range, Fix her j2h to normal, and less recovery on her 17 calls so she can solo confirm without vanish.... Mix is cool until everyone is mashing full screen buttons and you cant close the gap solo.... why is her B assist below average on block stun, would that break her to make it normal?? or her ex 17 to track? that would make her too strong huh bc thatd be too cheap for a full bar on #18? Why cant 17 deflect ki blasts like the ginyu calls? whats the real point of her distructo disk blast ? This character is strong but too much work when other characters do the same yet they risk less and benefit more? what gives?

The grabs are fine, the Light version is literally unreactable and the other two have enough range.
Speed up j2H I agree with. The recovery decrease on 17 could have insane consequences for her mix, we don't want that. If you're playing 18 solo you fucked up. B assist isn't too bad, it could use a small buff though. EX 17 tracks already except on self activation, which is entirely unneccessary. I'm not sure about 17 deflecting Ki Blasts, but it's not like that buff will actually help her. You're not calling 17 in neutral most of the time, except for 214S which spawns behind her anyways. If by disc blast you mean the little explosion that happens when it hits the floor, I saw that there is a way to curve it in a way where you can actually frametrap 2H with a full screen SD after 236S. Otherwise no reason to worry about it. She's rather easy to pick up actually, but you need really good universal movement to get the most out of her.
Her b assist should of been buffed to 30f and I like the other changes you mentioned
For the non smash loops, I can't land the 5l consistently on the third loop. I was wondering if you were tilting the disc or if I should put a delay on the start of a new loop.
the third loop is just a bitch on some characters, i can get them fairly consistently on GT Goku but the third loop is harder on trunks for some reason? im not aiming the discs down im just focusing on getting enough delay on 5S.

I think what would be good is for you to have a general playstyle description before going over a character's normals
This way, if someone doesn't "fw" the character, they don't have to watch that far into the video

The more you delay the 17 call the more time you have to connect the 2M. I do a dash 2M, but it may not even be required

All these combos are current patch. If they're dropping out you just gotta go faster.

Everyone can generally make use of the barrier, Frieza has some nasty synergy with his discs + barrier assist if you want to lab that. Any lariat-type move or movement ability + barrier works well too.
I am daily convinced that 17 is just a stand and 18 is a stand user
I like to think Goku and Beerus were helping out in that first ToD because the beef Krillin forgot to buy was for a hot pot party or something.

Every time I try to jump after 2M5M, she short jumps. Using the PS4 dpad sucks and I don't know why it's short jumping with joystick. I've done so many 2M5M into a jump and now when I want to do any of these combos, I can't jump higher.
I dont know what you mean by short jump, there isnt a thing like that. You can superjump, but you dont have to for these combos. Make sure youre jumping towards the enemy, not just straight up otherwise you'll likely whiff buttons.

i cant do any combos whit 2H jump cancel and dl SD rejumps. not used to the link speed, came from SFV, do u have any tips? i play on keyboard
The input buffer lets you input the forwards jump jL while j2H is making contact, its kind of hard to explain it once it becomes muscle memory. Rejumps are pretty optional, no worries about it

7:36 I was so upset they nerfed A21s level 3, look I'm not a sweaty fight to win junkie, but when I have played the same character(literally never got out of my team, ever) 4 years in a row it's just maddening that my muscle memory fucks me up cause she went from having a top tier level 3 super to a bottom one, probably the worst in the game, fuck me dead.

I assume that's meant to say rejump. The trick is to max delay the superdash. Apparently it helps if you use the Heavy button again to superdash after the first heavy. after the airdash jM you just need to buffer the dashjump input early enough, my FAQ video goes a bit more into detail on this

You gotta double jump towards the enemy after the j2H, that's what the jc indicates

theyre a bit advanced. you need to delay your SD as much as it lets you, airdash jM and then buffer a dashjump jL input as you hit the ground after jM. It's not extremely important for just getting into it.

I feel like the corner loops, the one after smash, isn't usable anymore. Mainly because after the 3rd disc, they fall out. It could be some REALLY strict timing, but idk.

My issues were the 5L after disc and the delay after 5h😭 Once I caught on that they were flipping out of it instead of teching out of it, I knew I needed to be a smidge faster. So yeah, that one works! Sorry for the premature mis-information, man😞

Probably cause 21 has braindead neutral and a great assists on top of the Level 3 mix that gives her steals that empower her further.

That’s not a good reason to nerf because what seems busted is opinionated the game is already homogenised to hell because everyone now especially fulfils the same roll. Them nerfing oki is a detriment.
