  • Here's a peek at some mid-80's Asian engineering. Many people wonder where the engine is in these vans.... it's under your rump. And there's some hidden doors to reveal the motor.
In this episode of "Crusty, The WonderWagon", I'll be popping the hood and putting on some new Belts.
As always it wasn't a cake-walk so I've compressed the time it takes to get it all done.
    Enjoy!

Thank you so much for a great upload! I just recently purchased a '87 myself and I found your videos very helpful. Please continue to update (so I can learn some more haha). I'm considering making a channel too just to document and journal my adventures with mine. Regards from sunny L.A.

Wow is all of that really necessary just to change the belts? Has me second guessing getting my father in-laws '86 now...

It's not that bad. Just a little time is required. Definitely don't let it scare you out of a van. They're a blast to have adventures in.

I'm sure the timing belt will be a future video. But so far I haven't had any issues. So far.... ;)

I noticed that you don't have any carpet in the driver and paseenger seat, and over the engine. I am currently debating to rip out my carpet completely, or replacing it.
My only concern is the insulation. Does your van get hot under the seats and on top of the engine?

How did you get the front driver's seat out?

It was a necessity in the early days. I used it as a work van. The appreciation and love grew over time. :)
