  • Hey all - after using my iKier for the first few days I noticed my red alignment laser wasn’t square to the laser head. I wanted to show everyone how to fix it if you’re having the same problem.

I noticed that something has happened to my crosshairs. They are no longer sharp lines, that are way wide. Do you have any idea what the problem can be?

I don’t believe there was any type of adjustment for it in that regard. I notice that they are less sharp when I’m not auto focused on my material but once I lower the depth to the right height it’s good. That may be some sort of ticket with ikier unfortunately.

Is the iKier K1 the same laser as the Atezr L2? They look very similar and have the same head unit.

They’re almost identical. I believe the frame is exactly the same. The only thing different I believe is the shroud on the laser head.

Can the laser be positioned directly below the laser output? Otherwise you will lose work space :(

Doing the laser offset you do lose about 55mm of usable space. You can do a low power burn from the actual laser as well. I do .25 on the 36w when I need to do that way.

@@757woodworks Can the laser be activated permanently? There was always a laser dot on the neje a40640. Thanks for your quick answer :)

@@miuix4795 the red dot is always on. Unsure how to disable that short of unplugging it if you didn’t want to use it.
If you go for the .25 burn that is only on during framing. You do that to turn that on in the settings for LightBurn though.

Good info. Just got mine a few weeks ago and it isn't straight either. Poor quality control.

Once you get everything sorted it really is a good machine

I have encountered many little things like that with this brand, the mobile app doesn’t work, the drivers do t work on MacBook M2, autofocus didn’t work properly, display missing magnets… they are not nice in terms of compensation for time wasted given that we’re helping them fix the semi-finished profuct

Yeah I had a couple of minor issues but it’s working like a champ now. And I’ve heard stories about anything running on the M1 and M2. Definitely worried about that whenever I upgrade.

    Poorly designed laser pointer mount

Once I got it aligned it’s been absolutely amazing for setting up my burns
