Thanks for the video. A lot of people don't seem to get it. My 2014 Tacoma regular cab came prewired in the tailgate only. Thus simply plugging in a factory camera wouldn't work even though the wiring harness is there and connects to the main body harness. When you open the wiring loom there's only a single blue wire. If you open the loom under the bumper and there's 3 or 5 wires you are most likely prewired all the way to the head unit and don't need to watch this video.
I’m impressed, I must say. Actually hardly ever do I encounter a youtube video that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me inform you, you have got hit the nail on the head. Your concept is excellent; the problem is one thing that not enough people are talking intelligently about. Im very happy that I stumbled throughout this in my seek for one thing referring to this.
Jennie Jefferson Did you attempt the installation w/ the parts that arrived w/ your camera kit? If so, you know that this video did NOT “hit the nail of the head”.
I didn’t get where is the camera itself install.. did you drill a hole or where is it.. is not clear, would you share a picture or vid where is the devise installed in the back? Tks .. good vid👌🏻. Just subscribed 😊
i thought 2014 tacoma has prewired assmbly plug n play connector ready under the truck by the passenger seat? Why is he messing around with the panel and radio for???
Only the tailgate is pre-wired, but it is useless because the harness going forward is only 1 wire. Camera Source sells the camera & the entire 2 part harness.

this was helpful for my 2006 Tacoma since there was no wire running to the tailgate, this video helped me so much. Thank you for posting.

So what exactly do I need to order from camera source if I’m driving a pre-wired Tacoma and what connections do I need to make?
