NHL 98 original EA Sports videogame realesed in 1997 on Windows. This video is played and recorded on system Windows 98 SE, Pentium 200 MMX, 64 MB Ram and Voodoo 2 4MB graphic 3D card. by Vyrida
So weird, I haven't played this since... Maybe 2000 and all these names, all the sounds are so familiar to me still, I used to play this game for hours
This was the one that felt like a 'holy fucking shit' step forward for all EA games. Absolutely ridiculous jump from the previous two. Felt like a video game from a whole other different planet.
MY #1 FAVORITE hockey game EVER. Oh the good old PC/PS1 days of the late 1990's. Next to NHL 94 of course (#2), this game went to serious lengths, nasty checking, hard hockey, physics, deep stat Tracking and user records, fantastic pXp and color commentary, a serious introduction, and last but not least, a hard as Shit amazing soundtrack. And let's not forget my favorite player. Peter 'Foppa' Forsberg on the cover. 9/10
Same as nhl 23. The only way to score is the backhand fore hand cheeze over and over again. At least in nhl 98, u dont got some 14 year old kid beeking u in chel thinkin that they john tortelino.
i played the hell out of this game on psone, and you could get easy goals by taking a slap shot between the the blue line and the top of the circle, because the goalie would almost always stack their pads while standing, fall over, and leave a juicy rebound for you to easily fire into the net. good times lol
Back then PC gaming was top notch. No console looked this good in '98
I just saw a video of NHL 98 on PS1 and the graphique difference is pretty big
@@simonricher5799look at NHL 96 on the PC. Mind blowing that an almost 30 years old looks that good
the nintendo 64 came out in 1996, and while it was on the more expensive side, it definitely looked better than this

I always loved the ambiguous swearing and cursing as they sit in the box.
The huge hits in this game were hysterical. They also let you blow up the ref and rarely called it. 😂
My buddy and I spent a good couple of weekends trying to put the ref through the glass. We succeeded lol

NHL 98 running on a Pentium on Windows 98 🥲 Good OLD days.
This and 2002 were the best hockey games.
Loved this game as a kid. How awesome was Jim Hughson commentating too?
This was a good one. The abuse of the official penalty when you body checked the ref is a fond memory.

Same. Last NHL game was 09 on pc.
@@Juzimaster and even that one was a pain cause you had to get a license online and you could only install it a certain amount of times...
Ah the memories… playing this in my dorm room on my Gateway computer… simpler times 😊
The soundtrack was awesome
