Checking the game out. Haven't touched NHL in a very long time. The controls... I don't get it. The passing button is the same as switching player button. Why? Everytime I try to pass an empty puck i accidentally change player. 🤣

Does anyone remember NHL2K? pretty much the 2K game is more solid than EA, back then in 1999 used to be a big fan of EA NHL, but not until the SeGa 2K sports game was more realistic. change my view of both hockey games last NHL 2K hockey i played was 2012.
NHL 96 Genesis and NHL 98 PS1 also are amazing games.

She is actually pretty good though. And eventually, it will be real life too. We already have female coaches in NHL now lol. Nothing wrong with that so long they know what the fuck they're doing in my book.
@@metalnat27I agree, but listening to a female sportscaster is weird even if she's an expert. I prefer someone like Gary Thorne or Bill Clement over any woman in the NHL. Women can go to the women's league.

i find it strange that this game gets so much hate, however i did buy i PS5 about 2 months ago. before that the last console i played on was a PS2 in 2004, i skipped past the ps3 & 4 so i'm sure you can imagine i've noticed a pretty big improvement in game quality, graphics etc

NHL 15 on ps4 was the best, most realistic looking one.
NHL 24 gameplays looked EXACT SAME since NHL 16 PS4. Absolutely nothing changed! Even NHL 14 PS3 is miles above 24.

EA Sports spends too much time worried about realistic visuals instead of actual game play and realistic mechanics.
And even the graphics are mid.
Same flat voices, same gameplay as 2017, same boring layout. I do hope we see a NHL game from another developer.

@@timburr4453I love playing with female hockey players in the game. As well as female coaches overall. But I will have to say. EA is pushing it now with 2 female commentators and female reps lol! At least female players and coaches is more of a choice. One mandatory female commentator is fine but 2!? That's pushing. At least for now until in real life it gets to that point lol. BUT gameplay and presentations should really be our main concern right now and they totally haven't improved on that shit as it seem.

Все просто, у разработчиков ЕА нету конкурентов, вот они и выпускают ужасную игру.
А вот в футбольных симуляторах, фифа победила Про Эволюшен Соккер, чисто тем, что Конами бедная, а ЕА это гигант денег.
Но в футболтном менеджере, ЕА повесела белый флаг, так как футбольный менеджер куда интереснее сраной помойки ЕА. Грязные ублюдки!
И ведь ЕА это канада, а хоккей придумали они и так убого его реализуют.

This game is horrible EA they have trashed this NHL game from the pick of 2KSPORTS, and the buy-out, EA cares nothing about the franchise.
Why does this look like a 2002 game? There are arrows and meters and circles all over the ice.. yikes. Glad I'm not buying this year
i played the 2002 game and it's awful. i think the NHL on the ps5 is so much better than on the ps2, but each to their own

happy i haven't bought an nhl game in over 10 years. ea monopolization of this once great game has been a disaster for hockey fans everywhere.
So, my question is which version of the game should I buy? If I get the Xbox Series X version, it occupies space on my Xbox HDD that isn't being used by anything else, because Xbox doesn't have anything..... If I get the PS4 version then the game is only $59.99 instead of $69.99. So, I'm paying $10 more for what, resolution? Nobody seems to be saying anything about the Dualsense. Do the haptics do anything? In the PS5 exclusive Astro game the haptics change the way you feel being on different surfaces and the adaptive triggers. So, does NHL 24 use any of that at all? Do you feel yourself gliding on the ice? Are poke checks subtle while getting smashed into the side boards has a bigger impact? When the glass shatters does the Dualsense replicate a bunch of tiny pieces falling on the ice? The Dualsense is supposed to give immersion, or are EA that lazy they neglected to put any of that in.
Also, it seems like it's kind of there, but NHL 23 removed the pre-game show and you basically were just on the ice and everyone had glow sticks. Did they put that back in the game?
I guess they replaced the dude with a woman because of "we can play too", it was a political statement and not a creative decision.
I'm more curious of how the haptics work and if EA Sports even bothered at all. If they didn't, fricken Xbox parity. They're buddy buddy with Microsoft so Xbox would've begged them not to include anything that would've given PS5 any kind of advantage, but I'm curious and nobody has said anything on it or brought it up which leads me to believe EA did nothing.....

THE biggest problem with this game is displayed right here in this video. This game rewards terrible gameplay and low skilled players. There is NO WAY this guy won this game but somehow he comes up with a 3-0 win. This happens in online games CONSTANTLY. dont know how to cycle the puck? Or set up chances? Don’t worry. The goalies lack of ability to save the puck will make sure you come up with a W.
im glad you pointed that out. As I mentioned before covering the game, I don't play NHL. Haven't touched it for a long time. The CPU should have destroyed me with all the fumbles. But it seems the AI just either fumbles before scoring or lets my players AI tackle them automatically lol.

It's fun though. I picked up a used copy of nhl21 for $8. I wouldn't pay full price for these games.

If you're a very newcomer in recent NHL games? Yes. Otherwise, no lol. I am on NHL23 right now. But I may go back playing NHL21 because of some dumb down features they made in NHL23. And I will not ever purchase NHL24. Wow! Looks just like NHL23. Zero point of buying it whatsoever.

As a newcomer to recent NHL games yes. Worth the bucks for sure. Very entertaining and LOTS of features and immense modes! I will admit as much, sir. But that applies only for newcomers pre NHL15 at the very least.

Animations look 'okay', but what was the budget like on this title? I've seen much much better and more crisp animation & character model work in fantasy titles... this is supposed to be based on a real life sport, what the heck?

Totally outdated graphics. EA has no competition, it doesn't care about improving the game. Because changing the game's level to more current graphics would cost a lot of investment in the franchise, as it has no competition, it just updates the cast and menus every year.
the graphics look the same as every other game on a ps5. in zone or action view they do anyway, not when the camera is overhead. i dont understand the amount of hate this game gets, i mean wtf are people expecting?

Absolutely nothing new in this NHL 24, I saw the difference from 20 to 22 but after 22 there is nothing new, just several new items for atmosphere and that is it. You should update the game only because fresh 24 came out 😁trash

No. I would recommend sticking with NHL17 unless you can get a deal on the game for like $10. You'll still be diappointed but at least you didnt pay much for it. I still play NHL17 excluse but with revamped ratings. A guy named "Mathematics" did a ratings revamp on operation sports where he stretched the ratings to make the stars stand out much more and the role players to like role guys. It definitely gives the game a much better separation. Also a great year for young guys coming up if you want to play through a full career. McDavid is in Year 2, Auston Matthews is a rookie, plus older guys like Crosby, OV are still studs and with years left to go.
