Definitely the best nhl game I've ever played... I remember being Italy in the international tournament on hard level and it was a real achievement to keep the score low against the big teams, the later nhl games were no challenge and boring
This game brings back a lot of great memories! I recently figured out how to download it on to my windows 10 laptop, and now I can play it whenever I want! As fun as playing the game was, I also spent a lot of time messing around with the rosters and creating super human players.

Hi, yes it is true. Sad :( It will be nice to see game like this. They could sipmly upgrade nhl 2004 for example and make better goalies, better shoots, blocks out of glass, more misses with shoots, more contact with referee etc.
Injuries always reapppeared if you immediately rematched a team, so they would accumulate the more times you played them. So I always roughed up my opponents over multiple games until half the team was injured. I really was a little cunt back then.
I use to put bure on every line and play a 29 game season. My record was 96 goals in a season with Bure. At least 90 of those goals were skate down left side then cut to middle and shoot.
CRASCH, CRASCH, CRASCH!! - I always played like a raging wife beater when I played, haha! Though that was the -98 version. I've smashed into the referee a couple of times to, lol
hahaha a true gem Selfcreated players were named osbourne I think. Many countries had just made up teams :D You could lob the puck from either the middle line or the red goal line and a goal was highly likely. Fights were awesome. The cheers "yeeeaaaah" were hilarious checked players who turned midair had their lower legs turn later. Soundtrack is still awesome (jeffy van dick iirc) And considering this game is from 99 it looks pretty good!

The shadow of the puck is a freaking hexagon. But games back then and a lot of other things were better in other ways back then. Sequel to sequel the EA Sports games actually tried to be something worth buying compared to the prequel. So many new things, not just an updated roster and a couple of changes. Same with phones. Now all are the same and the new iphone is just a better camera compared to the previous version.

NHL 98 was it for me, but I guess 98 and 99 are much the same.

Nhl 99 still amazing so many years later. I remember after 99 i got nhl 2002 and i was so upset how slow the game was in comparison.
How I used to love to play dirty with this game. It was so funny. Too bad the newest NHL didn't have this kind of dirty game.
