very elegantly dressed orchestra pairs well with this music. very avant-garde for it's day... parts are shockingly modern and cinematic
Lebhafte und wunderschöne Aufführung dieser kompakten und fein komponierten Sinfonie mit seidigen Tönen aller Streicher und milden Tönen aller Bläser. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und echt nuanciert. Im Kontrast klingt der dritte Satz echt lebhaft und auch inspirierend. Wunderbar vom Anfang bis zum Ende!

Underrated composer. His is music is as amazing as his father, filled with awe-inspiring motives and counterpoints.
Not sure CPE’s underrated, but his music is certainly not as well known as it might be; that said, he is something of an acquired taste.

What a wonderfully captivating work!! But is it really the 1st of the Hamburger Sinfonien? They are Wq 182 from 1773 and this one is from the Wq 183 set of Orchester-Sinfonien mit zwölf obligaten Stimmen from 1775.
