Whatever you do. Do not have your board made in a super dark color on the deck or anywhere that may have a chance of sitting in the sun on a hot day for over a half hour (Especially in Florida) or your board will bubble and delam and it is a heart dropping site and smell.
Very cool, gonna also make a 10 footer soon, btw, did you try to work with EPS already? I know a lot will say "fuck epoxy" but you can add weight with cloth, heavy stringer, extra finish coat etc..I was very surprised about working with it. It's a pain to shape doh.
@@altheatoldme5003 They can make Archery Bows from the right Epoxy mainly a Chinese made English lognbow I got my brother could have been the straight epoxy, not that I trust the epoxy and went for the more Fiberglass epoxy type of same bow from different manufacture where they use more a Fiberglass resin to cast the bows.
@@caseysmith544 @Casey smith I think you are a bit confused in what Epoxy is. Epoxy is a type of resin that uses a hardener, ratio can change from one to two to one third etc. Fiberglass is the cloth that is used to glass/laminate any core using any type of resin. That resin can be either Epoxy, or Polyester. EPS is a type of core that can only take epoxy resin because if not sealed with Solarez or glassed with epoxy resin only on the first lamination, it will melt if used with Polyester rein. Polyurethane core/foam can take both, Epoxy and Polyester resin without any sealer. Remember, Epoxy is the resin and not EPS foam/core. Polyester is a resin and not the Polyurethane core/foam.
@@Surfmus I thought you needed an epoxy Resin to work with most fiberglass cloth, the other hard type uses the polyester resin? Also it is possible with the right epoxy to make a bord using just that no fiberglass.
Aaaaaaand, once again, no mention of bottom contours! I’ve watched endless amounts of videos on surfboard design and about 75-80% of the shapers fail to discuss the bottom contours of their boards! Arg 🥴🤷🏼♂️
Looks fairly flat up forward, maybe slightly concave, transition to slightly convex on the aft section. Looks like a slight kick up at the back end to help keep the front up.
1967250s Ya, I’m thinking belly in the tail to flat with some significant concave in the nose… sharp 50/50 rails in the tail to soft 50/50 in the mid section of the board. Basically, an original Donald Takiyama noserider…. Had to do a bit of research 🤦🏻♂️
Video’s about Tyler’s beautiful logs and his knowledge of design. *shows him shaping shortboard
0:52 he knocks out two things I want to do at but in one single ride: nose ride and get barreled.
love the flat nose rocker

What are the board dimensions?
Yea Tyler

That sounds like a very stiff longboard.
@@altheatoldme5003 gotta use industrial epoxy

This looks like the Rose model.

かっこいい!そのボード下さい!!!
One way to get better at shaping is to copy a good board.

Too short
Noseriding is for kooks. Ride Phil Edwards models.
Noseriding is lame.
envy is lame
MrDeadsurfer I guess you can't nose ride
Apparently you have never done it!
Says the lame TH-cam keyboard warrior. What a pitiful trolling attempt.
