I ended up loving Lisa Frankenstein and I'm a bit baffled by the reviews, but I'd be very curious to hear your take on it. It's simple, it's fun, it's very culty.
u didn’t talk abt my favorite part when statham finally confronted irons and instead of killing or beating him up he defeated him by just bending his finger back
I liked the disclaimer at the end of the movie that said: "The English killer beekeeper portrayed in this film bears absolutely no relationship to the industrious, hard-working American beekeeper, to which we are indebted for pollinating vital crops that feed our nation."
my theory is that this movie is Hollywood's response to that "is your dad beekeeping age" audio that went viral on TikTok in like 2022 because people were using it to thirst for older men
OH 100%! That was my first thought when I heard the title. My first thought when I saw Jason Stratham was the lead. And my first thought when I knew about the plot - through this review!
“There’s some British isles hiding in your accent” Yeh as a Brit - fuck this movie. Annoyed that the “British isle” accent of an entire 3 country isle wasn’t Maggie Smith from the Prime of Miss Jean Brodie
Just put the TV on and another Statham movie I’d never heard of called Wild Card is on, OMG the cast and writing and the CHOICES! Why does he squeeze grapefruit juice directly from grapefruit into a glass with his bare hands, while talking about his financial issues?? This movie is wild. I’d never appreciate movies like this if it wasn’t for the Moviebitches and for that I’m extremely grateful.
The FBI agent is from umbrella academy and she’s great in that. So from the clips that you guys showed I could tell that was for sure the director’s fault 😂
I have a theory, and this does not have to do with Jason Statham, but one Mr. Josh Hutcherson. I think he made so much money from the Hunger Game films that he just does whatever now. Sometimes, he does projects that are really great, like Futureman( really funny), and then he does projects like Five Nights at Freddy's and The Beekeeper. We all know Jeremy Irons probably did this movie for a paycheck, and he will probably pretend this didn't happen like Dungeons&Dragons(2000)
Avaryl and I seem to have polar opposite taste in films most of the time so we’ll see what you think later on, but imho, Lisa Frankenstein is great! It fills the Frankenstein brief more than the Lisa Frank brief, but it’s super fun, has great costumes, set design details, and soundtrack, and I thought they tackled the Frankenstein resurrection of it all in a really clever, silly, sometimes surprising way!
There was one gay person who knew what camp was and how to make puns, and the entire rest of production shit the bed! I wanted it to be so bad it’s good but it’s just bad lmao
Also I checked the letterboxd reviews for this and I was utterly baffled by the average being 3 stars... I mean I guess we can add stars for Jason Statham being hot??? that's the only way I can justify a rating above 1 star
If you were to take a shot every time they said bee or beekeeper, you would die lol Considering the amount of foreigners, this should've taken place somewhere in Europe, and been about the Queen or the British PM. Or only have Jason Statham as the random ass foreigner that doesn't fit in this American story.
My Grandfather's brother was a beekeeper and a barber, I think this a good combo for an action movie, if you don't f*ck up the script like this beekeeper movie.
suicide squad made movie though and came out a century ago. he has had other films since. say what you will about ayers but his style of films have a fanbase. i like ayers but not necessarily all his films. stuff like bee keeper i will never see, but im down for the long awaited sequel to bright
I feel The beekeeper movie is like, the Master Gardener, from last year. I watched that movie and I still don't know till this day what was all about. If you switch the bees with seeds and how to plant plants you got the same movie.
Lisa Frankenstein was not great, guys. The idea was there, but the execution was not great. I am baffled by the reviews that are loving this film. Kathryn Newton is fantastic, but she is the only good thing. Both my friend and I walked out of the movie asking ourselves, "What did we just watch?" I think I am in the minority though with my opinion.
I randomly saw this in the theater one day and honestly my experience has been being surprised by how many movies are worse than this movie this year. I keep being like oh my God this movie was so much worse than The Beekeeper
I’m curious if you’ve ever watched the movie, Connie and Carla? It has the fabulous bunt Toni Collette and involves drag. I would love to hear your take on it!
Don’t have time to watch the whole video right now but i gotta say: those mom jeans were DISTRACTING ALSO “maybe he’s got a point” maybe he’s killed like twenty security guards who had NOTHING to do with this 😂
thats the thing avaryl. ayers (tries) to make straight action films. your ideas for a better bee keeper film is all camp and fun and they dont want that lol. they want to be "bad ass" ala ROAD HOUSE! sometimes they being so earnest can lead to unintentional funny bad films but its not all the case. i agree the world needs more camp and a "stupid" female lead "the beekepper: all hail the queen" would have been fabulous. make it scifi/comic booky where she can control the bees and uses them in attacks like poison ivy does with plants. and maybe she has some different types of honey that have various effects on humans like make em horny, sleepy or is straight up poisonous from bee venom. you guys had some great ideas for a better film that im sure some b film genius will make one day ala butt boy
Maybe THE ONLY WAY to fix this movie is miss trixie having a cameo saying OH HONEY OHHH HOOONEEEY
That 'Beekeeper'-Montage liquified my brain... beekeeper
Always love when you guys watch something current i’ve never heard of it’s gonna be something absolutely insane
Seriously needs a crossover with "I'm a honeybee" guy.....
I clicked on this expecting a Wild Mountain Thyme kind of movie. Then they said the words Jason Statham.
i see you're a person with taste!
I ended up loving Lisa Frankenstein and I'm a bit baffled by the reviews, but I'd be very curious to hear your take on it. It's simple, it's fun, it's very culty.
yeah it was better than i thought! the leads were cast well enough but i think it’s the supporting cast that stole the show for me in the end
One thing could fix this movie: the queen be is Jamie Dornan from Wild Mountain Thyme!
u didn’t talk abt my favorite part when statham finally confronted irons and instead of killing or beating him up he defeated him by just bending his finger back

THIS ^ and I don’t think Hollywood understands tiktok because everything they try to adapt/use from tiktok flops,
OH 100%! That was my first thought when I heard the title. My first thought when I saw Jason Stratham was the lead. And my first thought when I knew about the plot - through this review!
Oh from Rick and Morty?
They should have known it wouldn’t have worked
Can we put a priority on making sure there is a Madame Web review?!! Same screenwriters from Gods of Egypt/Morbius. What more can I do to sell it
I LOVED gods of egypt
It’s coming!
“There’s some British isles hiding in your accent”
Yeh as a Brit - fuck this movie.
Annoyed that the “British isle” accent of an entire 3 country isle wasn’t Maggie Smith from the Prime of Miss Jean Brodie
I dont know whats crazier. "Beekeeping for beekeepers" or "if a beekeeper says youre gonna die, youre gonna die"
ohhhhhh i just got it, "yellow jacket" guy LOL

I absolutely love the fact that the president, the 2 CIA directors and the deputy director are all Brits!
It’s all wild to me
The montage just. Kept. GOinggg. 😂

Lisa Frankenstein was pretty cute and fun! I had a great time! I’d say it’s a mash up of Frankenstein and Heathers 😉
Andrew was thinking about Ms. Fang
Oh no... Did you have to rewatch this movie just to make the 'beekeeper' supercut?
The sacrifices Avaryl makes for the greater good 🤣
This movie quite literally almost broke my motivation to watch movies. lol
Avaryl and I seem to have polar opposite taste in films most of the time so we’ll see what you think later on, but imho, Lisa Frankenstein is great! A whole MovieBitches review about Beekeeper and NOT ONE EDDIE IZZARD REFERENCE??? "I don't want to let them go away, I wanna keep them!"
My Grandfather's brother was a beekeeper and a barber, I think this a good combo for an action movie, if you don't f*ck up the script like this beekeeper movie.

The word "beekeeper" doesn't sound real anymore 😵💫😵
But how's the beekeeping going?
This sounds like a movie my dad would like. That is not a good thing.
Lisa Frankenstein was not great, guys. The idea was there, but the execution was not great. I am baffled by the reviews that are loving this film. Kathryn Newton is fantastic, but she is the only good thing. Both my friend and I walked out of the movie asking ourselves, "What did we just watch?"

NOT THE BEES!!!!
Im scottish and we do not claim that accent lol where is he from. The same place as Tommy Wiseau? XD
No Izzard quotes?
I turned my brain off with this movie. I only watched for Josh Hutcherson. The awfulness washed over me. The movie is forgettable
Y'all are great
ngl even the tiktok algorithm would write a script with more depth than whatever this movie was. anyways, here’s beekeeper… beekeeper
Josh Hutcherson looking cute tho

best statham is transporter statham. peak camp.
Beads?
The fact this piece of steaming hot garbage made $130m at the box office (from a $40m budget) makes me weep for our collective intelligence
Just go watch Bee Movie 🐝
I was waiting for this review as soon as I saw this god awful film. To be fair it had me laughing at some points- for all the wrong reasons
Had an absolute blast with The Beekeeper. If you didn't know what kind of movie you were going to get going in, it's on you. *shrug*
Like 306 ❤
This movie just sucked one year of your life away.
Why are you guys totally selling me on this movie and giving me no choice but to watch? 🤷
I ended up loving it for what it was. You know what else is lazy? Wearing those horrid salmon colored shorts!
having matt walsh videos on your profile 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
He's a horrible person who, yes. Keep your enemies closer...
OH MY GOD MY FRANTIC INSTA DM AFTER WATCHING IT PAID OFF
