the option for the tacan triggered action is no longer availble and the carrier still turns the tacan off do you have any solution because you are the only one on the internet who explained it
9:08 to prevent that, do not set up way points until everything is set 1st. Then make way points, and it will carry over mission plans or goals as well at each point until you change it.

So i can't get the trigger system to recognize the AI tasks of "activate tacan" and "activate icls". I followed all the steps to the letter and the task does not appear in the actions list. Is there a new way of doing this as i know that the TACAN bug still exists and i would like to keep them active? Thanks
I just downloaded DCS with CA recently but the ships never listen to my commands set in mission editor (not to mention during the mission) regarding where to go (and starting to stop after a short while), as well as what to fire against to some extend...… planes also have the same problem but way more obedient (though they always start wandering off somewhere at times...) They really should have made it a little more simple to have the carrier conduct such a simple task. Why would you have a carrier and it not outputting TCN ICLS.
I think I missing something... when I set up a carrier to do the TACAN/ICLS setup you describe... the carrier quits following the waypoints and plows straight ahead.
Thanks for the gouge. The one thing I've really struggled with is trying to sort the proper headings in the game. I've had a hard time dialing in the proper BRC and wind over the deck. I'm not sure but I think that the headings the Hornet uses are true and the editor is using magnetic. All I know for sure is this; if I set the heading for the carrier to 000 deg, the real heading I need to fly in the game is about 357 degrees on the Caucasus map. I think that's just about correct MagVar. I know that if feels like there is a crosswind in close, but I don't know if they model the burble in game and that's what I'm feeling. Any additional gouge on the headings?
Its because of the MagVar, it is modelled in the game so you have to take that in to account.... or .... you can just cheat like I do and change the HSI to display TRUE headings instead of MAG headings. On the HSI page select DATA, then Aircraft and on the right hand side in the middle you'll see the option to switch Heading modes from Mag to True. I normally set this up for the CASE 1 and just use the BRC i have from the mission editor, its a bit cheeky, but it works :)

SweeTtaterpie 3.14 ED did talk years ago about making ships work with the Combined Arms module, users would be able to control ships and fire weapons etc, I’d certainly love to try something like that!
Back in 80s, had the first Microsoft flight simulator on an IBM clone with floppy disks, also a friend up in Canada designed a carrier land game called Jet, it was set up sort of wire frame graphics, I think it's possible for ship simulators to finally merge with aircraft lol.
Hi there guys! I'm fairly new to the dcs world life and i'm having troubles setting up spawns on the carrier. Can someone point me in the right direction on how to do this please? I tried generating a scenario and adding the carriers, then using my own methods to get a potential spawn point but i was greeted with a never ending "wait" message :(
Hi Andy, I know this isn't ideal but until the new carrier DLC is available the best way to have people spawn on the boat is spawning them directly on to the catapults by selecting 'Takeoff from Runway' in the starting option. Once the new DLC is out we should have a lot more options for where people spawn.

Hello friend, Yes the turorial is for 2.5 but it will work in any version. Yes the aircraft carrier is included with the DCS version. The aircraft on the carrier are static objects just for show sir.

why tacan and icls in triggered actions? i always set it in advanced waypoint actions and never had trouble with them
There is a bug in DCS that turns off the TACAN when the carrier passes a waypoint. Setting up triggered actions prevents this.

Hi depends on your Aircraft. The F/A-18 has some options in the HSI. Check some tutorials, they will explain it in detail.

Eh, maybe I'm just too OCD about that stuff.
you can now set the last waypoint to switch to w/p 1 in the advanced list it will just keep going. Hope this helps.
