Hi Don, Great Video. I also like the Olight, however I will never buy an Olight, until Olight gets rid of their porprietary magnetic charging cable! I can go to Waly World, Wallgreens, CVS, or any gas station to get a replacement charging cable for the other brands. NOBODY at the Police Department I worked for will ever buy an Olight until they stop unsing their magnetic charging system!!!!

  • @jimcboyett
    @jimcboyett 4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

The problem with Olight is their proprietary batteries with pos and negative terminals on one end of the battery. This makes it impossible or dangerous to charge one in a high quality external charger. So I prefer the standard battery Fenix and others use.

Nice light, love fenix flashlights. At least they put a tail cap switch on it. But since China gave us this virus I’m only buying surefire American made lights, same with red dots. I get these are good and thanks for review, but trying to practice what I preach.

murray55285 we’d all appreciate if you tried to help rather than just give in to the Chinese. Even if you can’t entirely avoid Chinese products, just reducing the % would help. A Surefire G2X flashlight is better than this, less expensive, and made in the USA. Maybe it has some internals that we’re made in China, but it’s a good start. Buy American, support Americans.

Carcaine amen! It’s funny in America we act like we do the right stuff, end slavery, civil rights and here we are supporting a country that makes all the junk we buy from cheap slave labor and then on top of that they have uyghur muslim in consecration camps, yet we look the other way with the rest of the world to get cheaper red dots and flash lights. Meanwhile all are good paying middle class jobs disappear. We need to wake up and get jobs back and make stuff here as well as meds, they almost shut us off to them when virus was getting bad, don’t think we want to be beholding to them for much longer for PPE AND MEDS as well as everything else.

    • @jackbauer9077

Ghost ok but the profit pays the Americans to build them and the profits stay in America. I think I’ll support those people instead of the country that puts nets around buildings so the people making iPhones don’t die when they jump off the roof. And the America doesn’t have Muslims in camps. But just keep looking the other way, if Joe wins election more and more jobs will be over there and soon enough it will effect you personally or you kids or parents and when people realize it it will be too late.

I like Fenix lights. I have the E25 model. It is about as big as a fat Sharpie marker, take 2 AA batteries, and draws very little power! Great little light, I use camping and hiking. Thanks for comparing your model, to the O-light, since many of us are carrying those now!

Having owned a number of quality flashlights, Fenix always had great lights. I loved my E25, with its rear pushbutton and AA batteries, but it has unfortunately been discontinued. I like the fact that this one can also use CR123 batteries, which is an advantage over Olight.

Fenix was the flashlight brand which started my collection of quality flashlights. But I abandoned it. Why? Yes, the user interface is bad. All modes are included in the memory function. And no shortcut to any of them. If you last time used turbomode and next time want low mode you will put on turbo before cycling down to low. And if you last time used low mode you need to cycle through several modes to reach turbo. Very impractical.
Apart from that the mode spacing is way too small for the eyes to under different conditions determine what level is currently active.
It will be a regular confusion about what mode is active. "is it low or med?", "is it med or high?", "is it high or turbo?" And so on. The space between memorised modes should be at least 3 times, and preferable 4-5 times, because the eyes usually don't perceive brightness differences linearly.
Therefore Thrunite is my favorite brand. Direct access to the lowest and highest mode. And memory of the regular modes, while the gap is enough large for the eyes to determine the mode.
Apart from that Thrunite offers ALL models in both cool and neutral white tint, while Fenix is very restrictive with neutral tints.
A tip: check out Thrunite TC15 or BSS V4. Perfect user interface and perfect mode spacing.

Mark Morrison - that’s been happening to me here, on FaceBook and Instagram for the past week. I see a Trump ad once in a blue moon. There’s a woman called Sarah Gideon running for US Senate from Maine. If I see one more of her ads I’m going to run out of the house screaming. Not just because she’s a Democrat, but because she is a hypocritical liar. (You May think that’s redundant...)

This light is just terrible. By the time I got what I wanted, I wouldn't need it, anymore. Useless light.

@@googleuser6635 You got what you wanted. But then your need faded away?
If you don't plan on using a product, it doesn't make it useless. It's just of no use to you 👀
