Good review but my experience is a little different. I only use the micro-USB port on the cell in the field. At home I just use an ordinary lithum cell charger. The battery level indicator on my light seems to work with any 3.7 Volt protected lithium cell with button top and not just the Fenix branded one. Thanks for posting the review.
It most definitely *did not* come like that from the factory. He scratched the lens. I believe this has a glass lens. Lens burn isn't possible with glass or sapphire lens'. The LED would burn itself out before it got enough to melt like other types of lens can do. However, if this is *not glass*.. Cletus here probably touched the lens when the light was piping hot & his finger print is partially melted into the lens now. I believe it's just scratched up because Fenix uses glass for the most part.
Fenix has always done it's own thing. Olight however, tries to copy every other manufacturer & then slaps proprietary batteries in a copied design that won't work unless its a "special Obattery". Personally I prefer versatility in batteries. It's just pure corporate greed on Olights behalf at that point. Olight rips off Fenix, Surefire & Maglite on the regular. Aside from their Obulb & magnetic base charger.. there's no originality. Olight is yawn* material. (Yes I own several Olights & have no problems criticizing Olight whatsoever)
That's pretty awesome that you said all of that. I wouldn't mind to own an Olight if it's one of the really neat and pretty colors. I think they make overall attractive designs. Are they good lights in general?
@@MemphisMojo15s Yes. They are good lights in general. Aside from their "proprietary Olight only batteries". And by proprietary.. I mean they are designed to only work with Olights & Olights won't work without them. They aren't just Olight branded. All the newer models are also designed so the batteries are essentially backwards, so you can't use the "magnetic ring trick" that used to bypass it. I just hate the sheer greed of Olight. I like options with batteries. It doesn't matter if the battery it comes with is good for 300 charges. Ya know ? It's just corporate greed on Olights behalf.
@@doejon9424 thanks for the quick reply! I agree, greed for sure. The proprietary charging and batteries are the only thing really stopping me other than about 50% of comments pertaining to the negative experiences people have had with Olight

Battery indicator shows only when turned on with the tailswitch, great review! :)
No beam shots? Wow.
Big miss. Thanks for pointing it out.
That’s lens burn
How? That’s interesting.
@@jovenguardian usually hear from the led baking a foreign substance onto the lens

Fenix, "Keeping up with Olight" 🤔
Ok..More like Olight trying to keep up with Maglite lol..
