@@ASMR_Historian All up & down NC coast (Kill Devil Hills, Emerald Isle, Oak Island, Duck, Ocean Isle). There was this pirate ghost tour (wanna say near Wilmington), that my inner 10yr old boy self reminds me was pretty cool.
I lived in another of his hideaways, St Augustine, FL. They have a cool Pirate and Treasure Museum. They also have Blackbeard's Ball, which appears to be quite a hearrrrty good time!
Ok, Defoe’s writing. Perfect material to fall asleep to. PERSONAL SECRET: Thus one I’m listening to at .75 speed. SUPER SUPER ASMR therapeutic effect. With ASMR HISTORIAN (the best ASMR personality online) this is like smoking a bowl of couch glue and … night night y’all. 😴
@@ASMR_Historian - I thrilled to reading Robison Crusoe in grade school. I STILL THINK of how R.C. fabricated his barricaded enclosure - how the materials sprouted and grew to camouflage his place, how he chipped out a cave from the rock cliff face... Also "his man" Friday, and exactly WHAT CULTURE does Friday and his cannibal captors represent? Etc etc. Until my childhood memories (so real!) give way to adult reality that Robinson Crusoe is a fiction written by Daniel Defoe in the early 18th century! I keep a copy in my library and it still reads very fresh and modern. I'm not as familiar with his non-fiction histories. Wow! Some of the later 20th century American Civil War historians (Mcpherson, Shelby Foote) get credited for creating modern "narrative style histories" but it seems Defoe was writing histories in a lively and entertaining manner over 300 years ago. WHAT A GREAT STORYTELLER!
When I was a young child I saw black beard's ghost one night when I woke in the middle of the night to use the toilet! Scared the living daylights out of me!!! I have had a fascination with this character ever since... I look forward to listening this tonight!! Thank you very much!..
Very cool. What movie was that? Either childhood mind tricks (before we “mature” and stop allowing such natural entertainment, or maybe blackbeards ghost himself! Doesn’t really matter, does it? I totally relate to the visuals and thinking on it , was definitely a movie I watched on late night as a kid.
a soothing video about my special interest is exactly what i needed today thank you so much
It’s a fascinating subject, and hopefully, it helps you get through the day!
Love hearing about good ol' Eddie. Used to vacation at one of his old haunts.
Oh yeah? Which one?

Defoe is so great, consistently interesting writing. I might even do his other pirate biographies too.

Anyone can light their hair on fire, but only one person made a practical reason for it.

Could think of worse ghosts to encounter, but certainly better ones too. You don't live on a pirate ship, don't you?
Arg, this be a good video
