The navigation and propulsion part of the space station was built and maintained by Russia. They wanted to get out of it and join the Chinese space station but was asked to stay another couple of years because nobody knows how to maintain or use the engines.

NASA/Boeing has acknowledged the helium leak issue. The helium manifold was closed, stopping the leak. At last report Starliner had 10x the amount of helium needed to return. Starliner’s battery can be recharged by the ISS. Their rationale is logical as conducting tests on a spacecraft while its in space makes sense and is an opportunity to take full advantage of.
If it were that simple of a fix, they would be home by now. They're facing 60 days trapped on space station. This is the second time in two years we've had astronauts trapped. Russia brought home the astronaut last year, I bet they will be bringing these two home as well. A seven day trip has lasted two months so far. LOL.

It is the job of media and they are doing well. It's not about knowing more, it is about common sense. If a mission is supposed to last for 1 week and the crew is getting stuck for more than a month, there is a need of questions to be asked. We all did not even know something like this was happening.
